I noticed not a lot of talk about sizing up these covers for the CGC cases. N64 games are a little trickier to modify because of their more complex designs on the spine, but I needed to make a cover for Mario Golf. The scan on the main site is pretty bad quality, so I tried to touch it up myself. Its not perfect but I feel that the colors look slightly better than the one most people use. Hopefully others can use it and be slightly happier about the quality of the cover.

Also I apologize if this is not the correct way to post some of the cover art I've worked on. I'm sure the picture is over-sized on these forums, sorry ahead of time. I just wanted to share this and wasn't sure where.

I made a cover for Tomorrow Never Dies a while back to test out the process of converting UGC covers to CGC. I actually totally replaced the front image because the one on the main site is so crappy. I'll reshare it here for convenience sake.

Yeah, I know the quality is bad. It's based off of the scan that's on the main page. Nobody ever had a quality scan of the box to work with. That's why I said slightly better. The fact that the Mario Golf cover on the main page passed the uploading process is baffling to me. I saw some people asking for an improved version so I tried to help because I wanted one to look a little better. Thanks for the box scan though.

Years ago, the site didn't have the quality standards it does today, so many older covers are pretty crappy.

Nobody ever had a quality scan of the box to work with.
Ask and you shall receive :D ... most of the time...
I want to say that this cover was submitted in 2006-2009. Technology (scanners / scanning programs) have definitely advanced, which allows us to have better scans, thus resulting in more strict uploading. Due to a BUNCH of crappy covers already being hosted on TCP, the admins cannot delete a cover, but they can "replace" it with another cover. No one has ever made a replacement, though I did scan these for Shenske as he asked for them personally. So I know he is working on N64, but with everything that is going on in his life, I want him to be away from here. He's done way too much and he needs a break.
But yeah, the cover on TCP is terrible, but you can always ask for a new scan and see if people provice.

This community is pretty great and helpful if you ask me. I'm glad you uploaded a scan because I know I'm going to try working on a better cover. It's all of us working together that can make this project a great success.

I totally forgot about this until I got an email saying someone replied. I did manage to use the scans to make a new copy. I tried submitting it to the main site but it was just lost to space and time.

Thanks. I was in the same predicament as you. I didn't like the quality of it so I tried to redo it myself. I think it's not to bad for an amateur. Like someone else said I may try to reload it through mediafire later in case it messed up the file on imgur.

Imgur will resample images to 72 dpi, which is well under the resolution you'd want for print. It did this for the image you hosted.

Does this one work better? I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to photoshop, image creation, dpi, resolutions, etc. and what requirements are wanted and changed when posted to certain image sharing websites. So any help is appreciated. I just want to share the cover I made since I think a few others were in a similar boat.

Scanners haven’t changed much at all since 2006, and the software is actually worse now than it was then, with photoshop dropping TWAIN support.
