Thanks for the heads up, Tech13. This is indeed a good game. I picked up a free copy before realizing I already had it in my Steam account, so if anyone is looking for a free key, here you go:

Heads up to all you digital game collectors: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is currently available for free on Steam and GOG. The GOG version includes extras like the manual, maps, soundtrack, and wallpapers. I got it for both clients just to be thorough. Enjoy!

this is why pc gaming is awesome. random free games and not one tied to a subscription in order to keep it unlocked
