I'll kick it off again. Finally got my Zelda OOT Symphony Kickstarter Vinyl in the mail. Also picked up a few games yesterday thanks to a sale. The 2 longbox PS1 games are really just for the mint cases... getting sooo hard to find good condition CD Longboxes now...

... of the heart!

There was sale of 32-50% off from Lego Dimensions stuff... bought some stuff for some1240 Euros.
I now have triplets of almost everything.

I have been gone for a very long time. So I am very behind on my pickups. I will post most later next week but wanted to put this up. Came in the other day. It is all 18 available Zelda Amiibos in had plastic card form. Works exactly like an Amiibo would as it has the chip in the card. Got it for about $20 on Ebay. It can also be found on Etsy.

That DQ 2DS is by far and away the nicest LE portable I've ever seen, plus it came with a physical copy of the game.

I like the extra step they took with the case. Looks good.

I've been grabbing up random retailer exclusive titles recently. This week I stumbled onto Sneakers, a Toys R Us exclusive for Xbox.
-
Found a couple of things over the weekend. It was nice to find some GameGear games that were not Sonic or a game show / sport game.

Agree. Plus it was about the same price as ones without.

Ran over to GameStop on my lunch break today. Not sure why as I do not care for the store OR there business model. Glad I did though!
Cave Story With slip cover for cheap as fuck. Also the Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival even though a terrible game It was new but labeled used as it is on clearance for dirt cheap with the Amiibs!

Nice score on Cave Story. I think it really took a hit when the Switch version came out. It was pretty much the first rare 3DS game.
-
But the Switch version uses the old graphics instead compared to the updated graphics of 3ds cave story.

Well, I guess I have a complete US NGPC collection now.
The PS2 is broken. Need the power supply to swap into a PAL TEST unit so I can use it.

I have been trying to get a complete NGPC collection for years. I almost never see them out and about.
-
I don't even try to find them in the wild. I bought these from a buddy on IG who's liquidating his complete set. He's still got a bunch left.

I made it to the Missouri Game Con this year. I wish I could have made it Saturday since there was a little more going on, but I still had a great time. I got to see the Nintendo PlayStation prototype running a SFC game. I got to meet Kelsey Lewin from Metal Jesus Rocks. I sat in on the Limited Run Games panel which was ran by Doug, one of the co-founders. I saw John Riggs and Radical Reggie, but I didn't get a chance to meet them. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long enough for the Kelsey/John/Reggie panel, but I believe they taped it and plan to put it on YouTube. I was trying to keep my spending down for the weekend, so I only ended up with a few games. Overall, it was a pretty amazing event and the turn out was fantastic especially for only their second year. It might be pretty small compared to some of the East Coast and West Coast conventions, but I would prefer something smaller and less busy anyway.
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures, but here are a few.

I really wanted to go to that one, but I found out about it less than a week before it started. I'm definitely going to the Grand Ole Gameroom Expo in Nashville this year. If anyone else is going, definitely look me up!
-
@Blumpkin, that case is pretty cool! Was that some kind of promo thing I guess?
I also made it to MO Game Con on Saturday and was able to get some good pickups! Also got the copy of Leisure Suit Larry signed by Al Lowe.

Sunday I traded a ton of junk (old figures, sports games, misc cables) to V-Stock and got this for next to nothing... Which also completes my Mega Man set!

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about Mr Heli and Iron Blood was a total random pick up. I had never heard of it before and just liked the box art and screenshots on the back. It's actually brand new! I'll have to see if I can get it to run on my Windows XP computer.

Bear, you should tell them the autograph story. :P

Bear, you should tell them the autograph story. :P
Ha! Yeah, so Al Lowe was just sitting at a table by himself with no signs or anything. Just hanging out talking to fans. So I walked up and asked for an autograph and he was more then happy to sign and talk for a minute. AFTER he signed my game he says "Oh yeah, that will be $20" I started laughing because I totally thought he was joking with me (hell he makes comedy games). He was kind of laughing too but then said he was serious and that there was supposed to be someone there with him or something to let people know. I just laughed, told him no problem, and paid the man. I've paid for autographs / been to plenty of cons in the past but usually the person either has a sign up or says something before they sign the object. It wasn't a big deal, but it was pretty funny.
-
$20?! I'd have been like "I'd like to return this autograph".
Something like that needs to be made clear upfront. He should have tracked down "his guy" and sorted that out. Not terribly professional.

Same. I understand this is how they make money by going to there things but I personally refuse to pay for a photo or an autograph.

I haven't really been collecting much lately, kinda been AWOL for a bit. :)
But I have been perfecting my SNES RetroPie making skills:

Why DMC on a SNES box/cart?
I'd be super grateful if anyone has an extra Jotun that they'd be willing to trade.
This is what arrived today from LRG

Why DMC on a SNES box/cart?
It was a custom request. They wanted a DMC Themed RetroPie in a SNES Shell, with a box. So I did so. :)
Also, nice pickups from LRG. I wanted to get in on the Night Trap for PS4, but was only able to secure the PC version. :(

Ugh, gotta love being Canadian. I'm still waiting for my Neuro Voider, Jotun and Oceanhorn. They've all shipped already but none of them have shown up yet... :(
-
Got this Oceanhorn vita copy in my mailbox when I came back from vacation.
Came with a nice collector card, much better than a LR sticker if you ask me.
Coincidently, I also got (finally) a PS Vita! Can't wait to give this game a try :D

I noticed the card with my Jotun as well. I thought I was pretty up to date on LRG news, but I must have missed the announcement about that. Is the trading card replacing the stickers and post cards?

I presume so, since I didn't get any of those this time.

If so, I like the idea, because the trading card seems to be a standard size which will make it easy to display in a sleeve 3 ring binder. Where as the stickers and post cards were not standard sizes, and I've been having trouble finding a display solution for those.

Yeah, the postcard and stickers are out for trading cards. There are multiple trading cards for each release and also either silver (90%) or gold (10%) versions. They are going to sell packs later on so you can try and get ones you don't have or trade with people to try and get a full set. Some think its cool, the people that must have everything hate it lol. They did this since Play-Asia, Signature, and others were including postcard / stickers in their sets so they wanted to differentiate themselves.
-
I got stickers with Drive Drive Drive and Neuro Whatchamacallit. Might have been a postcard too. I'll have to check...
-
Got in on the Limited Run Games sale on Lili this morning. Wow do they sell out fast. I will never understand why they do such "limited" runs. Hope the game is worth it.

Ugh. I wanted both of those and of course missed them both. Now the eBay scalpers are the only ones selling them. *groan*

My wonderboy package is still in limbo. Label was created on the 15th, but still hasn't been picked up/dropped off (according to USPS tracking, which is often complete shit).

First off, here were my finds from a flea market this weekend. Yes, those are AES games and the Sega CD games are all new sealed games.
Then pretty much all my pending LRG games came in at once.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Neo Geo games never came with a shrink wrap seal. So if they're from the same vendor as the Sega CD games, you may want to give them a really close look...

Yeah, I'll double check them. I know at least one of them has the plastic hang tag on the back and I believe the other 2 had the overlap. If they are not original seals, it's not a big loss as they are all common games and they were dirt cheap.

Found a Power Glove at a local store, it is only the glove so it's just a display piece but I didn't spend that much on it and it will look nice in my room. (Mediafire is down for maintenance so I'll update with a pic tomorrow)

Pile of Mighty Number 9 stuff arrived today.
- NES style cardboard case.
- NES style manual.
- Famicom style cardboard case.
- Famicom style manual.
- Hardcover design works & strategy guide.
- PC version of the game on disc.
- PC version of the game on mini NES cart USB stick.

I FINALLY got my hands on a NGPC. Got it via trade that ended up being a really great deal for me. Traded FF12, Horizon, and Nier for it. Everything works, the only thing it's technically missing (as far as I know) is the copy of Sonic that originally came with it. Also picked up a couple of random games from the local goodwill. Nothing exciting though

It fits just fine, as does NES into US box.
-
I read that on the first printing of the Famicom manual, they accidentally made it the same size as the NES manual, so it wouldn't fit in the box. They must have corrected that error.

While out hunting for SNES Classics the other day
(http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/wiggyx/image_86.jpg)
From Amazon. Was finally cheap enough that I was willing to pick it up (~$27)
The cart itself is gross. The tool isn't even complete. There's no texture on the shell, just a rough polish. Weak. Not to mention that it's not even the US SNES cart design. Fixed that problem right away ;)

I just platinumed Oceanhorn last night. Took me about 13 1/2 hours. Had a great time with it.

Honestly, this game doesn't interest me too much - however, I bought it because I want developers to keep doing this. So if this sells well, it increases the chance we'll get additional titles for the system. And $21 isn't bad for a SNES game these days

At this point, they're losing money on the sale and they're surely just trying to recoup as much of their cost as possible. I.e. buying a copy at this point isn't gonna push them to develop anymore games. In fact, they're probably thinking the exact opposite :/

Nice to have something larger than 20 inches for light gun games. The tv has a 1080I mode that forces the screen to 16 : 9 but it looks really sharp for an older tv.
Edit:: apologies for the huge sideways pics. Anyone know how to fix that?
Edit 2:: attempt to fix pictures. Sorry still learning
-
If it's 1080i, it may not work for Lightgun games. The screen can't be digital at all. So if there's HDMI inputs on it, I'm pretty sure you're out of luck.

Correct. If it's one of those wide screen Sony Trinitrons, I can confirm that they will not work with light guns. I used to have one and I loved it for component based systems that used widescreen (like PS2, Xbox, Wii, etc), but I still prefer a regular 4:3 Sony TV for the older consoles and light gun games. If I had the room, I would have kept it and used a 3 TV setup, but unfortunately, I had to give it away and stick with my 2 TV setup.

If it's 1080i, it may not work for Lightgun games. The screen can't be digital at all. So if there's HDMI inputs on it, I'm pretty sure you're out of luck.
surprisingly I set it to the 1080i enhanced mode last night and Time Crisis II worked like a charm. I am really looking forward to playing Elemental Gearbolt this weekend.

I gave it away a while ago. Also, it weighed just shy of 200 lbs.

I wanna get some opinions on this. Someone a couple hours away is selling the Sony XBR960 with the stand for only $50. It's widely considered like the holy grail of CRT tech. But it's HD, so it won't do light gun games. I've already got a great LCD TV in my game room, and a 24" Sony that DOES do light guns. Part of me wants to pick it up just so it doesn't get trashed or recycled. Preserve something that's just that awesome. Don't know if I'd even be able to use it much though

No way I would pay $50 for that. At this point, I wouldn't take any TV like that if it isn't free. Most people just want to get rid of these TVs and they are getting difficult and expensive to throw away, so there is no reason to charge anything if someone is willing to pick them up. It's a different story is the person is willing to deliver and help move, but even then, no way I would pay $50. That's just me though.

It is considered e-waste here and you can get a hefty fine if it is not disposed of properly. The TV must be electrically discharged and a lot of places charge you money for old CRT disposal. The county got tired of Trash catching fire when a CRT would spark a flame.

I meant of the current setup
Oh, this picture is old and doesn't represent the current console setup, but the TV setup is unchanged.

Wish I could do that. I am still waiting on a 24 year old to move out of my basement....

I have another 20 years before I have to worry about that.

Then it has an analogue signal processor.
You got lucky, as most of that generation of tube was moving to digital signal processing, which all but kills light gun compatibility.

No kidding I got lucky. Free tv and I did not drop the 200+ pound behemoth when getting it into the house. Thank God for furniture dollies.
