I just got a handful of PS1 and PS2 games including Ico.
I'll post pictures when I get home.

:o May 4th and this is the first post of the pick ups
I'm so used to Arseen starting the new thread, that I just post in the most recent one. My last pickups were posted May 2nd, but I put them in the April Pickups thread. I didn't even realize it until just now.
It just goes to show how good BOTW is (or at least how much Arseen is enjoying it).
-
^^^ I totally just posted in the April thread too by accident lol!
1/2 off square-enix stuff

I haven't hit garage sales in at least a year so I decided to get out there again last week and today. I had a major DOH! moment on both outings when I left items behind.
Last week I picked up the Wii console with the 3 games for $3 but forgot to bring the controller..
Today I bought the NES games and boxes. Some of the boxes are complete, some are just box and manual missing the game. The gameboy is only the box and inserts, no system. I scored all of the NES stuff for $110 and left behind a good condition Zapper gun box with inserts. :'(

Edit: dang, I just realized something else. The guy at the garage sale had a Legend of Zelda Gameboy Advance with the box in perfect condition. He said it wasn't available in the US. I had no idea how much it was worth and offered $40 which he turned down. It seems to be quite valuable... damn.
-
The SP? Yeah, they're valuable, for sure. Been hunting for one forever. Literally since they launched and no UK online retailer at the time would ship to the U.S.

Dang, the system and box looked perfect too. Maybe I'll visit him tomorrow and see if it's still there.
-
If it's CIB, then I wouldn't offer him anything less than $200. He clearly knows what he has.

Look what I got in today.

296/296 baby. I need to go through and clean up a bunch of these. I just ordered 300 cases from shadowfox too.
-
Nice! Congrats on completing the set!
Here were my pick ups from the weekend. Just need 1 more Mega Man for the NES set (MM 5).

That's my favorite GB game right there, and one I NEVER hear anyone talk about.
-
Donkey Kong is your favorite GB game? I like it, but it's far from my favorite.
-
Not my favorite Game Boy game, but probably my favorite classic-style Donkey Kong game. All the added game mechanics made it a very competent puzzle platformer. I hadn't thought about this little game in years! I practically wore out my Super Game Boy with this back in the day. Finding the keys, building ladders, the variety of settings, oh boy! Gotta go, now I need to check eBay.
-
I don't know, maybe if I gave it some more thought, I would come up with another GB game I like better, but it's certainly near the top of that list. And it's definitely one of the better games that I never hear mentioned in anyone's "best of" lists. The same can be said for most of the games in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, especially the one for the GBA.

Anybody here watch Game Chasers? Jay just completed his N64 set on a recent episode and I'm pretty sure his last game was the same as yours. Pretty weird coincidence.
-
How do you know I'm not Jay from Game Chasers? I'm not, it's just a coincidence though. I got my copy for $20 also.

Just curious why you wouldn't order your CGC's through wiggy at RCG? You did help make half of those covers and I could see wiggy giving you a deal!

1. I like printing my own.
2. My NES cases are black and I want them to match those.
3. It's cheaper for me to print my own.

A little late since I already purchased my cases, I wouldn't mind ordering all the inserts from you though. Though I would like to go through the files first and make some of those corrections we talked about first.
-
Man I am so excited. I just picked up this baby over the weekend for $100. All I need is a screen for it, and to build a 4player control box.

where is the number?
-
It's on the back side of the box. Little silver sticker on the bottom right corner.
-
Nice yard sale score. Blip isn't technically an electronic game, it's some sort of mechanical toy. Really neat find anyway; I love finding games older than I am.

Nice! Mine hasn't arrived yet. Last time the number I received was 54. I doubt this'll be as low.

I was able to grab this CIB set of genesis controllers off eBay for around $75 shipped. I love collecting genesis controllers, so this was a pretty nice find for me, as I've never seen the Striker in box before. I tested some stuff, but it's such a pain forcing these wires back in the boxes that some stuff like the turbo touches I'm happy just leaving them in there and not taking them out.

I was also at a local game store and saw this...
(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/0429/wz621zkyvyz6hf86g.jpg) (https://www.mediafire.com/view/?wz621zkyvyz6hf8)
It was marked as an NES controller and priced at $5. Looking it up on my phone, it's an average 3rd party stick...but....
(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/a2bf/sbnnpnce2b106ye6g.jpg) (https://www.mediafire.com/view/?sbnnpnce2b106ye)
This is not an NES controller. It's the much less common (and subsequently more expensive) Master System variant. So I was more than happy to add this to my collection as well. :D
-
That Beeshu Master System controller is so strange! It seems like it'd be awkward to control with the joystick in the middle like that. And the A and B buttons on both sides...an attempt at making a ambidextrous controller or some kind of two player arrangement? I love seeing weird third-party peripherals like this! There's always something else to collect.
-
That Beeshu controller is in stellar condition. Those are very hard to come by.

That Casper game is actually pretty fun. I've only played the 3DO version, but I'm pretty sure the PS1 copy is the same game.

Another couple knocked off the list...
Is folklore rare or desirable? Was a bit expensive for an old Ps3 game...
Anyway, time to start the annual F&F marathon...

Anybody on here trade in their collection? Found these at a local store with covers already made along with about 100 more GBA games. I paid about what they go for loose but i don't have to worry about casing them up now.
Lady Sia, Crazy Taxi, Ecks vs. Sever and Dark Arena

Nice to see I'm not the only one that uses Retro Collect.

I know a lot of stores that will print out covers for some of their games to make them more attractive to buyers. Most of the time, they are still pricing the game as loose, so they really aren't making money off the covers on this site. They are just using the covers to sell their games a little quicker.
-
I definitely don't think that is the case here, the cases are all cut slightly inside to keep from bulging when a GBA game is inserted. Just seems like a lot of work if you aren't going to charge more money. These titles were all featured on some YouTube videos also for hidden gems or 3D games for GBA. I'm pretty sure it was a collector even if it wasn't necessarily someone who visits these forums.
-
I could be someone just got a few games off of eBay or etsy also and this is how they got them and then just traded them in.
You wouldn't believe the cool things I've seen at pawn shops just because someone needed a quick fix few bucks.
-
This is not a Pick up per se, but i really want to thanks Taketheword for this cases. i Really appreciate what you did. Hats off to you Bro. 14 games with new home, now time to print covers.
Big thanks again bro. ;)
