Title: e_brugal's Game Room
Post by: e_brugal on April 03, 2017, 11:25:12 AM
Well, after making the switch box (not complete yet) i finnaly had the chance to have all my consoles out of their retail box and have them display. so this is my game room for now

my collection is not as big as some of yours as i have to buy mostly on ebay as the prices here in the Dominican Republic are very expensive.

I'm planning on changing that furniture for another one that acomodate more consoles.

I don't have all my games on display, i only have the ones that are boxed. Missing on the picture my Nes games (only on Display Captain Skyhawk as is the only in box), Snes, N64, DS and Game Gear games, they are in a drawer. i will soon buy anoher Ikea Shelve (longer one), to put it above the TV and that one move it to another wall. I open the Courtains to have better light for the picture but they are always closed.

Looking good so far.

That first picture really had me confused with the backwards facing PS1.  :P

Also, that thing standing up behind the PS1 threw me because it looks like it's plugged into the PS1.  That mixed with the rear ports is what made me confused.  But again, that was only for that fist picture.

Hi guys, the other day I connected my switch video box (the one I made) to the Crt TV just video and audio to my home theater. I notice that every time I turn on my nes (the only system I hooked up after buying the 50" TV and the 27" Crt) there's a humming sound. I turn off the video on the switch box but keep the nes on and the sound going to the home theater the humming stops.

Why this happens?

TV, Crt, nes and switch box under Crt and home theater between Crt and tv

My guess is that the video signal interferes with the audio.
Either by radiation or short circuit.

Well today I did some test with the cables. Took out of the A/V switch box the nes cable (the one that goes from the nes to the A/V switch box, original one by the way)  and try it directly on the TV and home theater, still having the humming sound.

Then I took the cable that goes from the A/V switch box to the TV and home theater (newer that the original nes one, maybe two years that I bought that one) and connected from the Nes directly to the TV and home theater, no humming sound.

Conclusion, the original Nes cable is the problem

Thanks :D
