What size are the cases? They look like Vita size maybe? I think they should have done like GameCube and used the current popular size case, in this case Blu Ray size.

Yes, these are scans of my original retail boxes.
I live in Germany but i hate our ugly "USK" labels - So i only collect "PEGI"-Versions whenever it is possible.
What i have bought and scanned are PEGI Games from Austria (they always have German text on the back, very often they are multilanguage, too).

On the german cover they actually had to change the position of the titel to fit the USK label.
I wish they just would have put a sticker on the case instead.

The scans from RecOne are 2455 x 1882 Pixel (when down scaled to 300ppi).

I only have the one game to measure. So, I'll let you guys call the official dimension. For the Height "1902" seems right. It was the width that we all got different results.

Maybe we should wait for a couple more releases and go with the middle ground before we come up with the official dimensions? I'll be picking up The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth Plus on the 17th.
Let us know what you come up with when you remeasure Shenske.

No, it's a marketing strategy. You want your product to be seen and not be immediately overlooked at a quick glance.

Yeah, I checked ebay and there does not seem to be a standalone english US-version.
It is just an interesting observation.
Maybe Konami is betting more on Europe. The UK did get an english-only cover.

A lot of US titles have french on the back due to Canada. While many games release separate versions for French speaking regions, a lot of titles just put English AND French, sometimes even Spanish on the back cover and release it universally over North America

Started on a Blaster Master Zero cover today. Still gotta finish up the back but I want to wait to get my hands on a few more covers to get a better feel of the variations on all the legal stuff on the bottom half.

Yeah, the font seems to be primarily based on Helvetica Neue.
With some letters resembling Futura. (The R, G and O for example.)
I think Loew is closer then pure Helvetica, but still not exactly the right one. (The G and R for example are slightly off.) :)

I didn't even notice. Thanks for pointing this out. I'll just have to make small tweaks to those letters.
EDIT: Ok, I think I found the exact font now. "FF Mark". It's just like "Loew", but the G, R ad O is spot on now.

Awesome work. Need to fix the number of players area and also Snipperclips does not support the Pro Controller. You can check out the back of 1-2-Switch for an example of a game layout that does not support the Pro controller.

These use the same raws by Bear 78 and same template by BadChad, but I redid 3 of these covers to straighten them out, which seems to be one of the noticeable oversights in these covers and some others. You might want to compare the temporary to these ones and these ones and you will see the difference.

I am not a fan of this either, but at least it is a somewhat usefull reward for once, not just a stupid wallpaper for your smartphone. ;D
And it is still kind of "free". You are rewarded 30 Platinum Points (every week) by simply logging into your account on the Nintendo website. So you only need to register a Nintendo account, wich you have probably done already anyway, if you are using a Switch.

I didn't realize that you could buy Switch cases right from Nintendo. I'm going to get into Switch covers now that I know that because 80% of my collection is digital lol. But.. if anyone is as much of a perfectionist as I am you have to have your digital game in the case, and the only way to export it is via microSD. So.. I just came up with this idea, it's super cheap and works flawlessly so I thought I'd share it. :)

Ah I didn't see that thread.. Those are cool, however you won't be able get the full label art on there. And it wasn't that much trouble lol, only took me 2 minutes to make. :) You can find these adapters anywhere and most of the time microSD cards come with them so I might as well use em for something. ;)

Yes, so in a way it kind of looks like a Switch game card but thinner and it's just a holder for microSD but I think with a label it will look great. I'm going to get around to making some soon. ;)

Got some more raws scanned. Tried things a little differently. I'm offsetting them from the bottom of the scanner so it doesn't cut the slight bit off the bottom. They were a bit harder to scan, but the issue appears to be gone.

Your scans would be great but you shouldn't compress them man. 75% compression and the lowest quality chroma subsampling is pretty bad dude, you lose color and there is a ton of noise. If you're gonna make them jpgs, do 100% quality and 4:4:4 subsampling. I'm mean I'm not gonna complain, scans are far better than nothing. :)

It must have compressed automatically. I hadn't changed anything other than taking it off of pdf to jpg. I'm not hugely tech savvy when it comes to scanning. Is there a better format to scan them in?

It's an epson xp5100. I believe I have png as an option. I could try rescanning. File size shouldnt be a huge deal

I did a test rescan for jpg with 100% quality. I'm noticing a very minor difference, if there is one at all. The file size did increase by roughly 3mb though. I tried scanning as a tiff, and also noticed very little difference as well. However, it increased the file size by roughly 10 mb. Am I missing something here? It was only a quick glance that I took over my lunch, so it's possible that the quality increase for jpg did help more than what I initially saw. Otherwise there probably wouldnt have been a file increase

I can see the logo color difference. I have no issue in rescanning if some will find it helpful.

The color is different yes, but that's not the issue here.. The issue is the ton of noise in and around all the objects in the first 2 images, like grey boxes around everything. Yes it can be cleaned up but the worse is it the more quality you lose, and stuff like small text can't simply be cleaned it has to be replaced.

I can see that better upon zooming now that I know what I'm looking at. I'll give my stuff a rescan and swap them out. I cant guarantee that my scanner will fully clean up the area, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I'm all for at least attempting to provide better scans

I have Rescanned the following covers in 100% jpg Quality with compression set at 0. I noticed on several of the covers that it cleared a bit of them up. Some, however, may not have cleared up. The remaining covers in this folder not listed cannot be rescanned due to my September fire.

I have Rescanned the following covers in 100% jpg Quality with compression set at 0. I noticed on several of the covers that it cleared a bit of them up. Some, however, may not have cleared up. The remaining covers in this folder not listed cannot be rescanned due to my September fire.

So I finally got around to making a Switch cover.. And now that I have a Switch template and logo/font libraries built I will be making many more because I now have no excuse not to lol. I would like to make cart labels as well if anyone would like to start scanning them, I need them because 90% of my games are digital. ;)

Also, I have somewhere around 50 Switch games, and a nice scanner/printer. Is there somewhere around here that I can see how to properly scan cover art? If so I would be happy to help build up the raws for Switch, maybe even delve into cover creation for them since I found the template and it was fairly straightforward.

There are some topics on scanning but main points are:
- 600DPI (300 is sometimes better though but you can only tell which works better by trying, can vary from cover to cover).
- Moire (descreen/derasterize) on.
- Auto color adjust off (usually, but again can vary).
- Make sure whole image gets scanned as many scanners leave a bit off from the edge,
- Absolutely flat (maybe preflatten the cover between a book for day). Scan with hard cover book and some weight on.
- The straighter the better.

This is my first time uploading a cover, I hope everything is detailed enough. It looks pretty decent when I print it, similar to others I've printed from this thread.
Anyway, I didn't like how plain the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass cover looked so I made my own, I thought someone else might too so here it is.
Feedback and tips on how to improve my covers is greatly appreciated.

Looks OK but 2 things are off:
1: The dimensions are off.
Comes out 100DPI with size of about 40 by 30 cm (16 by 12 inches).
Changing that to 200DPI would bring the size to correct (20 by 15 cm / 8 by 6 inches) I guestimate.
2: We prefer 300 DPI covers as less than that and finer details get blurry or jaggedy, like in your cover's case the text on the back.

I didn't realize that you could buy Switch cases right from Nintendo. I'm going to get into Switch covers now that I know that because 80% of my collection is digital lol. But.. if anyone is as much of a perfectionist as I am you have to have your digital game in the case, and the only way to export it is via microSD. So.. I just came up with this idea, it's super cheap and works flawlessly so I thought I'd share it. :)

After a little bit of file work it fits perfectly, you may have to put some super glue around the seams to help hold it together when inserting/removing it from the case but it works great. :)
Now I just have to have to make up some labels to cover up that ugly text. ;)

So I finally got around to making a label for this, and it turned out great! I just need to find a way to cut perfectly round corners lol, and match the red but for now it works. :) Thanks to Bear for the raw label, I recreated it in 600dpi for those of you who may use it. ;)

Could we have custom covers in white or at least a white spine? Just like the N64's vertical white covers, they look so much better than the eye-popping red and would be more aestheticaly pleasing toguether with Wii games and the aforementioned N64 vertical covers.

You mean Switch covers but with white spine?
Easy!
You just download a cover open it in any photo editing sofware (even MS Paint works if you don't have others, but Paint.net is good and free).
Then just erase the spine ( mean paint it white), and then add suitable logo and text.

Here's my Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition cover raw scan. This is from the Collector's Edition PAL-AUS. I find it interesting that this one lacks a rating logo and classifications on the cover. The inside slip is the same as any other PAL version.
