Title: Ds Lite problem
Post by: e_brugal on January 22, 2017, 09:01:12 AM
Hey guys. Last month I received a non working  Ds Lite from one of my nephews, it doesn't start neither charge, something was giggling inside so I open it to find this inside.

Don't worry, I won't ask "from where this part is?" Because I know that's impossible to tell. Lol

I have 3 options for this.

1- search more carefully to see from where this comes (I have search once.

2- buy a new board and replace this one (try to search for one and came just with a lot sold as is)

3- take it to a repair shop and let them do the work.

I thought that it had a blown fuse, but now with this I don't know.

What you guys think I should do?

Oh dear.

If you can, post a high res image of the damaged board.  I've got a half dozen or so here at the shop.  I can try and cross-reference to figure out from where it came.

A couple DS lites I've fixed had the same problem. IIRC that little guy is normally located on the top left of the board near the left edge. I know that may not help very much. I would take a picture but i don't have any DS's currently dissembled.

As Wiggy said, take a picture of the board and we can hopefully point it out.

This is kind of an inspirational story. I love to hear when a broken console/handheld gets repaired. Obviously there is no shortage of these devices, but it's always good to know another system has survived a near fatal injury.
