E.U cases were all blue spines and on occaisions where plain text was used (like this one), the text was white. I didnt want to change the spine to blue as this is an established template so the compromise was blue text. Tried the game logo font and black text but neither looked great.

I don't remember if the most recent version of the Dreamcast template is up. If so there is an option for the all blue spine if you wish to use it :)
It should also have the ELSPA logos, if it doesn't upload my most recent version.

Yup...i agree,the all blue is best. I didnt want to change it cos' the white spine was allready in use (well on the Fighting Force 2 cover for sure) but i have now. Thanks for updating the template B.T.W :)

E.U DC case rears are horrible to work with. They have even less height than normal jewel cases , and as all the guys who make covers know, that means they dont stretch well. ;)
Had to remake (or is it re-imagine) a back for this because of the above problem....v.time consuming!

Yeah the Japanese one are byfar the most difficult. Dreamcast DVD covers in general are very difficult to use any part of the orignial scans.
combined probably a little above 1/2 way, there is still a lot to go.

Not really. The Blue is pretty much an established standard for the E.U and is part of Shenske/LJ 42's template. I rather like it myself, i think it represents the DC cases for the region pretty well.

i really like it too - it's got me teetering on the edge of moving to DVD for dreamcast, but as i currently have no more space for DVD on my shelves, and just about enough for CD height, i'm going to stay put for the moment.............but keep them coming, you never know when i'll change my mind ;D (they do look like a real pain to convert though - that short wide back image going to long and thin - not nice)

I have to keep going to make space. I worked out that 33 Blu DC cases take about the same space as 66 9mm DVD ones. So DC/PS and 3DO with there bloody thick cases have to go ;).DC backs are as Shenske said, almost totally unusable. Ive been keeping them with the same info on as the originals,but trying to make them a little more interesting.Trouble is that multi-language is space sapping and pretty time consuming to keep typing in.I have quite a few 3DO games that have crappy backs on them too.

I know how "anal" you are about the covers being as close to the original as they can, legal text on the back and barcode included...But for the multilanguage games I guess you could keep the English text and drop everything else. That way you'd have more space to work with and to arrange the screenshots or whatever, and then "just" retype the English text. Just a suggestion.

I love Dead Space. I'm at the beginning of chapter 10. I'm not THAT easily frightened but I'm on the edge of my seat all the time. Going for the "one gun" achievement doesn't help alleviating stress :)
I can't wait to play this on impossible difficultiy, that must be incredibly nerve-racking.

I do have Evil Twin but its disc only waiting for a cover. I picked up a load of stuff from Blockbusters when they were getting rid, and that was one of them. Sorry

After looking at the U.S and E.U official covers (surely the most uninspired SF covers EVER), i found a scan of the JP version front and renamed it. The back is a medley of U.S and PAL but hopefully, a little less dull. Only real bummer was the SF3 logo was unsuitable for the spine.

A nice effort (and doubtlessly better than the retail US/PAL cover), but the back bugs me. The art for the backgrounds looks distorted, presumably by being vectorised - HERE (http://pici.se/379605/?size=fullsize) you can grab the same artwork in 1069x1500, hopefully enough to make the cover look a lot better. Also, none of the screenshots are from the game in question - they are all from SFIII 3rd Strike.

Yeah, that cover is perfect. Much better than the original.
I finally got my scanner working... somewhat. I can't find any option to deraster, descreen, Moire, etc. So, I'm afraid this is the best I can offer.

When i started this one ,the back had a two colour overlay similar to the US version. I ran the backgrond art through a filter to have it look more in the style of the front. But since then, i ditched the overlay but could not find the damn rear scan in its original format so it had to stay. The link you posted is to a better version so i will use that and redo it. And the screenshots being wrong are cos i did'nt check them well enough! ;).

Excellent, and thanks for the comments! I look forward to the US Double Impact cover. One less game of mine without a case! (Now if I can just get someone to make a cover for Rainbow Cotton and Napple Tale, I'll be all set..)
By the way, I uploaded a copy of the PAL GGX cover with some small fixes. By small, I mean so small that you probably wouldn't even notice, but I wanted to do it anyway cuz it bugged me as soon as I realized it.

Im new here and i realy like your Custom Covers. I need a PAL Cover 4 Sword of the Berserk ans Street Fighter Alpha 3?? Can anyone make one for me or know where i can get one??? even a high quality scan from the original Cover would do that. I get these 2 Games from Ebay but there were without a cover :'(
I know my english is not the best but give me a chance 8) Im from Germany so its not my natural born language :-\

Ports of Call!! What a great game that was. Had a good multiplayer mode as well. If your going after Railroad Tycoon (its very addictive b.t.w) and dont allready have it, the DC mouse would be usefull. I find the pad a little awkward myself. Supports keyboard too but it doesn't mention it on the case.

There's an option for the blue PAL style in Shenske's Dreamcast template but we don't have a thread dedicated to the blue style alone. But with great contributions like yours we might as well just start one right here :D

So i picked up a copy of E.U Vanishing Point for DC whilst on an 'awayday' today. Strange thing is it was in a half height DVD case. After inspecting it, its definatley not a custom cover and so its the first (and possibly only) one of its type i have seen. Other oddities are although its a PAL version, its all in English (i have seen that before though) and it has FOR DISPLAY ONLY, NOT FOR RESALE splashed across the bottom left corner and therefore, no barcode. Anyone else seen PAL DC stuff in these cases?

Sounds like it's a store placeholder, rather than a proper cover. Either as pre-release advertising, or so they can keep the proper stock off the shelves. I've never seen them done that well before, though. They're usually just printed on normal paper and often only in greyscale.

Hey Grum - my Vanishing point is in the same case (slightly wider than standard DVD case) - I got mine from a friend who used to be a reviewer. Does your disc say sample only not for resale on it?

It says Display Only and Not for Resale on the back of the case but the disc looks like a regular DC disc with nothing else on it. I have a few PS games in this style of box but they're ex-Blockbuster stock (when they discovered people were nicking the instructions so had them printed on the back of the insert instead). It has a manual all in English too. Off topic a little, i picked up 3 broken Game Gears for a pound each on the same day. One does nothing at all, one has BIG, as in unfixable screen issues and the third was no screen and low sound. I opened that up and switched out some of its components for new and....it works perfectly, and has an almost unscratched screen to boot !. £4 (with parts) for a working GG, cant be bad. ;D

So, drowningman, I'm curious how exactly you "touched up" the Blue Stinger and RE:CV covers seeing as they're my work put onto a different template.

We understand that you need a cover for Shenmue 1 and 2. But where are the scans? There are none, so I need scans for Shenmue 1 and 2 to help you out. I need the ACTUAL scans to it to make your Shenmue 1 and 2 cases Grumbleduke's style. To make Grumbleduke's style DVD Sega Saturn Shenmue 1 and 2 covers, I need the actual pictures to do the cover. To do the cover that is in Grumbleduke's format, you need to provide and/or wait for someone to create the covers for Shenmue 1 and 2. In order to get Shenmue 1 and 2 PAL DVD covers that are in Grumbleduke's template, I need to receive and/or buy the covers to scan or work with in order to make the Shenmue 1 and 2 covers.
Do you understand? We UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT THE COVERS, HOWEVER WE DONT HAVE THEM. SO EITHER FIND THE SCANS OR WAIT. STOP MENTIONING THAT YOU NEED TO COVERS, WE UNDERSTAND. IN ORDER TO MAKE THE CASE, WE NEED THE F***ING PICTURES

I dont think he does. Apperently his english is really bad and he might even be using a translator so he probably didnt get much of what you said. Not to mention he just asks the same question over and over again so Im thinking he doesnt understand english very well, if at all.

Blue Stinger
Pretty much done. I've put the proper barcode on it, but the logo on the spine could do with a touch-up/being replaced.
EDIT: Touched the logo up a bit. Still not perfect, though, to be honest.

So, drowningman, I'm curious how exactly you "touched up" the Blue Stinger and RE:CV covers seeing as they're my work put onto a different template.

Sorry to bring up an older comment, but only just noticed it now.
Like I said, I touched up the logo. Copying it into the blue template, I just had to trace around the individual letters of the logo, which was quite rough and needed work. Which I ended up doing, so that it wasn't as noticeable that it was copied from a different template.
EDIT: Plus, as your cover has a banner across the top of the front, I had to clone in some picture up there.
