I tried t find a general Wii cover thread, and much to my surprise we don't seem to have one. So I thought I should start it.
So recently I was working on some covers when my 9 year old niece walked in. So she thought the project was really cool. Most probable this is because I'm part of it and for reasons that I do not understand, she thinks the world of me... Anyways... The next time she showed up (today) she brought with her all her Wii games so they could be uploaded to the site.

Yep, Homebrew Channel can run an app called Gecko, which can launch any region of wii games
There's one for gamecube games aswell

You do realize that the cover is REVERSIBLE, right? Meaning that there's another side to it, where it looks like a new Wii game.

Play-Asia was selling it brand new for $25. Also, if you know people who imported the Japanese version (I know a few), try them. I know more than a few who said they plan to get rid of their Japanese copies after getting the American one.

I'm rather surprised of the extensive differences between the Japanese and US versions TvsC. The Japanese version has fewer characters but the AI seems to be much harder and it's got an awesome anime opening not really present in the English version. The remixed music also seems to be missing in the English version from what I've played so far.

Well, the biggest differences are
A) No Character Specific Music in Ultimate All-Stars
B) All but one of the mini-games is cut, although that one mini-game has been significantly pumped up
C) Still-frame cut-scenes instead of full animation
D) Hakushon Daimaō is no longer present, while Zero, Frank West, Joe the Condor and Yatterman-2 are added.
E) Online Play is not present in Cross Generation of Heroes.

I'm not particularly happy with the scans for the front and back, it was kind of weird because of the reflectiveness of the plastic slip case.
If someone can provide some better scans let me know and I'll update this cover.

I started converting my 'M' Rated games over to the new blackbox theme Nintendo is introducing in Japan. I personally really like the idea that they are going to be making the Mature titles stick out among all the kid games. I almost think it would be cool if they added a different color to the 'T' games too.

I dig these, but like I said I'm not too keen on the vast contrast the covers give off. On behalf of stubborn purists, I humblely request standard white versions for all covers that we currently don't have. Thanks!

Regular DVD cases are black, lol. If you really want ones that say "Wii" on the inside (permitting that they don't go all "green" with the cases...), they'll probably sell them online if the trend comes to America. Unlike NSMB, these cases apply to all M-rated games, and not just one game.

Very nice! I'm really liking these Black covers for the mature games, I hope it comes to the US.
But your right about T games, it almost feels like Red Steel should have a black cover as well.

The contrast and B&W style of Madworld fit these black cases nicely :D
Also, was there anything special in the Metroid Prime Trilogy Special Edition aside from an artbook & metal case? I'm wondering if it's worth hunting down...

Nope, that's pretty much it bonus-wise. Prime and Prime: Echoes feature updated graphics and the new play controls which makes the game a lot easier to play. There are no load time hiccups between different rooms anymore. One negative about the game is that there is noticeable compression on the FMV sequences in Prime: Echoes. It features all of the bonus items from the original games except the original Metroid game bonus. It is a must own game if you have never played the Prime series before. For $50, you get three award winning games that combined will last you over 60+ hours.

Even with all the editing I did, it's still rough... but I'm just glad I was able to make something that didn't look as horrid as the official art. I don't know why UFO seems to go out of their way to make the cover art look like it is housing shovelware.

And yeah, kitten, that's the main reason I got it. I already had Radirgy and Chaos Field, but considering Karous is about $70+, it was just a lot cheaper to buy the Ultimate Shooting Collection for $15... even if UFO's presentation is extremely sloppy.

Not sure how many of you imported a copy of Fatal Frame 4, I did once the guys over FatalFrame4.net finished the translation pack.
Since I now have the means to play Fatal Frame 4 in English I decided put together a English box for it.
I took some elements from the original box but also added a few of my own changes, and I decided to use the Original Fatal Frame font on the cover and not the one that they used at FatalFrame4.net. I also added reference to the patch on the back of the box since I figured anyone using this box would more then likely have a copy of the patch as well.

I certainly plan to import a version as soon as I softmod my Wii. I've already got Fatal Frame 1-3, so I'd really like it to complete the collection.

Love the idea of a black Wii case and cover. I would probably only do that for one game tho. Just so it looks cool and sticks out like the red Super Mario Bros Wii. Not sure what game I would do that too. It would have to be a game where black a black case really suits it.

Aren't you kind of screwed (as far as modding goes) if you updated your firmware? Lets say if its updated to the firmware that comewith New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

There is [a way] to run homebrew without softmods. I don't know if [that specific method] can run the translation patch for FF4.
I don't know of any bricks that come from running an official Nintendo update on a softmodded Wii. (Korean Wiis hacked with US updates an exception) Updating does disable homebrew, but generally there's homebrew to go back. (4.2 is a serious annoyance to go back to softmodded from, but nothing too major)
I actually updated from the disc with NSMBW (because I couldn't get the ... one to work and my friend bought the game :() and my Wii is now back to its hacked self.

Wow,that was byfar the easiest mod i have ever done. Two files and i'm good to go, lol. I guess i'm just used to the difficulty of hackingthe psp. Thanks for the "word". :)

If anyone is interested on improving the Mega Man 9 cover, I was lucky enough to find a sealed copy of the Press Kit (approx. 200 in existence) in my shit-town of a city from a guy on Kijiji who needed cash to fix his car (sucker :P). I think Im gonna hold on it for a couple years and then either sell it or trade it for a bunch of things Ill need for my collection.
Anyway, I can scan it if someone is interested in improving the Mega Man 9 Cover we have here.

OK, no rush. A friend of mine has the game and his dog chewed up the case. The case is wrecked but cover is mostly intact with the lower half of the back ripped.

Does anyone happen to have a cover (NTSC) for Chicken Blaster? Despite being shovelware, I thought $5 was a pretty good deal for the game and gun (especially the gun), but when you buy it this way it doesn't come with a case! Instead of paying another $5 to buy an additional copy with a case, I'd much rather just print something out. Unfortunately, the only version available on the site is called Chicken Shoot. It's the exact same game as far as I can tell, but with a different name and different artwork.

The only thing that would bum me out if they were on my shelf is that they all use the same font and B&W color scheme on the spine. They'd all just blend together IMO.

I understand. Personally I also prefer using the logo on the spine. But not all logo's fit good on the spine, I then need to resize them extremely small or maybe use good photoshop skills (which I don't have...)

That could be a solution.
But then I need to rely on cover scans, which are not always in the highest quality available. Logo's are easier to get in high quality :P

I've definitely done my share of trying to squeeze giant, round logos onto a thin, rectangular surface LOL!
It is indeed a PITA, so I often just re-build the logo in a horizontal format, or try and re-configure what existing logo I have to work. I know that's not something that everyone can and will do. It does take a lot of work and a decent knowledge of the software :(

I just picked up a copy of Wii Play Motion and I will scan it Sunday (along with the SNES Carmen Sandiego games). Then I can finish working on my custom matching Wii series as well as post the scan. I work at a used game shop (only on Sundays) and I think there was a used MW3 I can scan also.

I have a scan but its of the shiny foily cover so the scan came out terrible. Thats why i elected to go with an image from the net for the front. I found another 'good' size image w/out the cd part but it wasn't big enough without enlarging the image.

Actually the cover I had from that game didn't have a logo either...after searching for some info on it, it was apparently a printing mistake and a lot of the copies had a spine missing the Wii logo :\ I never noticed until it was pointed out.
As for Muramasa: Demon Blade, I believe I have the retail cover on my other computer, I'll try to put it up sometime tomorrow if you're still interested.

But if anything since its obvious you searched first judging by the date/time of the quotes, if you can't find the covers you need starting a request thread might be more efficient over cross posting in multiple threads. That way all the covers you wanted would be in one place :)

I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticed this, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know the amount of blocks the Wii games use? Because there's nowhere on the box where they say how much space they take up, like on other disc based games that used memory cards or internal memory; which are: PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP?

Until you create a save file you really won't know. None of the case art from what I've seen have ever mentioned how many blocks a save file takes. I guess it's because it doesn't necessarily matter anymore since most saves can be transfered off the internal memory onto an sd card or other forms of external memory.

Good point. The biggest files I've seen so far are: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (128 blocks), and Need For Speed: Nitro (122 blocks). Every other game I have or had for the Wii was never over 5 blocks.
We should definitely do a collaborative Wii game data usage thread one of these days; with the help of other Wii gamers on TCP of course. So that we can help people who look for that kind of stuff, seeing as how there's no way to know how much space a Wii game takes up until it's saved on the Wii's internal memory.

Honestly...I think that it'd be more trouble then it's worth. In theory it seems like a great idea and one that isn't all that difficult...but having created a similar type list (except not video game related) I can tell you that it's not easy. The time and effort being put into the list is a lot...also since i'm sure each post has a character limit you'd need probably 3+ posts right after the initial one reserved.
I mean...more power to the person that chooses to tackle this project but again...just seems like it's a lot of effort for a very small reward.
Btw, do you delete your post then repost it to bump the thread? Lol, I only ask cause when I saw "new" I clicked thinking that there would be a new post but there wasn't. Isn't the first time I noticed it either lol

Not really, superchop. It would be very helpful to Wii gamers who would like to know how much space their games take up, so they don't overload on data and then not have enough room for their game files. I know it would take alot of effort for the list, superchop, but I didn't say I'd be doing it by myself, I said it could and would be a collaborative effort from every Wii gamer on here. And yes, I did repost my last reply to bump this thread up, be there anything wrong with that?

"Scene" release groups already record the actual file size (not block size, which is just a conversion from KB) for WiiWare games.
Ex. 9 x 5 MB. They aren't exact (long story) but are a pretty good estimate.

The netflix disc was offered for free from netflix themselves before they created the Wii Netflix channel. I doubt you'll ever be able to get one outside of finding someone who's selling it. Especially since it wasn't all that long of a time between the disc being sent out and the channel being created :\ and honestly I kinda believe that most people threw them out once the channel was released since the disc became essentially useless.

My local GameStop was throwing out Wii game cases because they'd been damaged due to a leaky roof (It's been raining a lot in New Mexico). While the Metroid Prime Trilogy cover wasn't damaged, I asked them if I could have it and they gave it to me. I know someone posted a cover a while back (based on the steel box version); however, this is a scan made from the Gamestop cover.... for what it's worth.

Hi, guys! This is my first post in the Wii Cover Thread. I made my first two Nintendo Wii covers! In November 2015, I bought a Nintendo Wii from my next door neighbor who didn't want it anymore. It came with Sonic and the Secret Rings. It was only the disc. The motion sensor bar was missing so I had to buy one on eBay. I was able to find the official part for $6.99 with free shipping. I didn't want to buy a cheap third party motion sensor bar. I wanted the official part. Earlier this month, I went down to my local Dimple Records and picked up two used Nintendo Wii games. I returned them later that day because they were overpriced. I only get 75% back if I return used items but that's okay. I think of the restocking fee as a small fee to get the covers so I could scan them and restore them. I did some looking around on The Cover Project and found Lumberjack42's Wii template, but it didn't look that good. I searched on Google Images and found a sharp vector Wii template by NeoRame on DeviantArt. I downloaded it and had to experiment with it. He has every single icon, logo, Nintendo Selects, and many more logos for the U.S. and Europe. This is the best one I could find. Here are my first two Nintendo Wii covers. One of them is a brand new cover the site doesn't have. I have more Game Boy covers coming soon. This is where I will post Nintendo Wii covers when I get more made. Happy gaming!

Hello there; I just made my first upload and would like to share it here too.
The one thing I liked about the recent Wii U/3DS release of Rodea The Sky Soldier is the beautiful cover art that I ended up preferring to the anime-style art for the Wii game. The Wii game is the better game though and the Wii U version is insultingly butchered. So for my personal collection I decided to make this Wii case with the Wii U art. I used CloudgamerX's scan of the art as a source and combined it with hi-res Wii U box art and a bit of doctoring with other art sources to cover up the bit of Wii U case border at the top.

Hey, guys! It's been a very long time since I posted covers. I have three brand new Nintendo Wii covers for all of you. My computer got infected with ads, spyware, and adware. I had to take my computer down to Tech 2U to get all the spyware and adware removed. Now my computer runs really fast again. Thank goodness for that place. I also had the guys install a stronger anti-virus program on my computer because Norton is falling behind. I was using Norton because it was free with Comcast. That's the provider we have. By the time I was finished with my three Nintendo Wii covers, my computer got infected. I didn't lose any of my covers, thankfully. I feel whole again. That's the same thing I say when I get a flat repair or tuneup on my bicycle at REI. Ha ha ha! Here are my three latest Nintendo Wii covers. They're all game show covers the site doesn't have. Hey, everyone! Rockabilly1983 is back once again with three more brand new Nintendo Wii covers. It's the M&M's trilogy! There are three M&M's games on Nintendo Wii and the covers for them are now available. Late March and early April has been very hard for me. My sister had been battling breast cancer since the early 2000s. She turned 49 on March 15. She had to go back to the hospital on March 26. She was there for five days. She wasn't able to speak very well. She did go home on Thursday, March 31 with a bed from the hospital. On April 2nd, she died at 7:15 PM. I have been going through a lot of mental and physical pain over losing my sister. It hurt me to see her go through so much pain. Two days before she died, I heard her say "I want daddy" loud and clear. I think she was seeing my dad and he was getting ready to come and take her away. My dad died of a brain aneurysm on March 27, 2002. He was 56 when he died. He didn't live long enough to see me graduate from high school that year. Yesterday, we got together with the whole family and had a Celebration of Life complete with lunch. The event was fun and it helped cheer me up. We didn't have a funeral though. I don't want to talk about sad stuff anymore. Let's talk about something happy now. Why don't we celebrate the 75th anniversary of M&M's? It's 2016 and M&M's are now 75 years old. Grab yourself some of your favorite M&M's and play one of these three M&M's video games today! Peanut Butter M&M's are my most favorite. I was eating some of them while I was working on the cover for M&M's Adventure. I remember when Peanut Butter M&M's first came out. The commercial had a boy eating a bag of Peanut Butter M&M's and petting his dog. The narrator says at the end of the commercial "The best thing to happen to peanut butter since jelly." Man! As for the m&m's - we didn't get the peanut butter ones in Europe! >:(. In fact we only get the regular brown bag and the peanut yellow bag. I think we had limited releases in blue and red bags, but they aren't regular. Whenever I go to the US I try all the different ones - really like the almond ones. Are the peanut butter ones any different from Reese's pieces? (We don't have those either by the way)

Thank you for your support, man! I'm feeling a lot better now. I'm also very relieved that my sister is no longer going through pain. I remember my sister and her husband introducing me to the Sega Genesis when I was growing up. I liked the games on it so much that I wanted one badly. The game I played the most on Sega Genesis was Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. I remember that as if it was yesterday.
You guys don't get Peanut Butter M&M's in Europe? Bummer! I noticed the same thing when my mom and I went to Italy in December 2015. Not only did they have the brown and yellow peanut bags. They also had the green bags of Crispy M&M's. Those M&M's had been discontinued for a long time and all of a sudden, they're back. Which European country do you live in? I love traveling and I want to visit more countries in Europe. I've been to Italy so many times growing up. A lot of my family lives there. When I was a kid, M&M's didn't exist in Italy. I don't know what year they were introduced there. The first time I saw them there was in December 2013. Peanut Butter M&M's taste slightly different from Reese's Pieces. I guess the Europeans don't care for peanut butter. Many grocery stores in Italy don't even sell peanut butter. I found only one grocery store on our recent trip that sold peanut butter. It was imported from the U.K. Next time you come to the U.S., you should go to Las Vegas and visit M&M's World. It's right next to Coca-Cola World on the strip.

I'm planning to buy more Nintendo Wii games so I can make more covers. I recently bought three more Game Boy games complete in box. I hope so, I'm not too gifted with editing, but the least I can do is scan. I had the same issue with my ps2 scans i just did. I have to wonder if its just the thicker material in the older covers thats causing me trouble, about everything else has scanned fine.

I press mine down as well. I use my wii, good site and weight. Sometimes it doesn't seem good enough.
