Hi guys.
I recently started my gaming collection. For now i will just put my gameboy games here. I orded 20 empty ds cases to try mod them in the gameboy cases like all of you do.
If they shipp well, and everythings goes smoth i will order then more. For now i don't have much, but will update you everytime i get something. So let's start with these:
I menage to find gameboy advance sp blue in box, so i keep it there. Also i have 3 more without box.

also hate to tell you biggiepk but if that image is your collection of gameboy advance games your pokemon fire red copy is a fake

How can that be possible?! .. the game came in original box like 7-8 years ago.. I bought it brand new, but i was too stupid to save the god damn box. hgrgrgr
I played trought the game like 5 times, the save is ok and game works perfectly..
Why do you think it's fake one?
I know i have couple fake gameboy original games.. but beside that nothing..

Didn't the legit fire red also have the name "fire red version", not just "fire red"?

It depends on where you got your copy. Here in the states we have Wal-Mart, Target, and GameStop that are pretty big retailers for new games. Some bootleg companies tried to go all out and do the best job they could as cheap as they could and there are a lot of smaller retailers that prolly just got them from where they could due to supply and demand, hence you getting a fake copy.
OR, (and let's hope this didn't happen...)
You could have had someone come over to your house that had a fake copy and switched it out for your real copy when you weren't keeping an eye on them. Like I said hopefully not. I have very few people come over to my house and I still have something come up missing on the rare occasion that has never turned up.

for future reference in regards to frauds and bootlegs:
1, look online for a known retail list of cartridges, it makes sense the 'devs' (nintendo in this case) keep a list of releases, and regional variations. one of the lists are public, the other is pcb revisions. (game label should have the disk id on it and correlate that with online searches.)
2, the pcb itself. i have a few bootlegs, and the easiest telltale sign, is NO signs of the hardware producer (nintendo again) and copyrighted chips.
3, the quality of build can be shit vs official, but not always.

years ago, was given a megadrive cartridge that was a bootleg, had three games. (1, altered beast. 2, golden axe. 3, streets of rage.)
there was a red button on the top of the cartridge, used for a menu reset to select the other games.
normal console resets only loaded the last game selected. (the sega splash was obscured, perhaps a flimsy attempt to dodge legal teams?!)
i can't think of any retail cartridge having such a feature, or behaving that way.

i don't have it anymore, but i do have two (maybe three) pirated gb? cartridges, they're stuffed away somewhere, and i need to dig em out.
i do know one of em is a translucent blue pokemon pos for gbc, and a 101-in-1 ripoff for the dmg. (same as with the megadrive rip, obscured nintendo logo, cept the 101-in-1 cartridge had many duplicate games as parent/alternate roms.) ;D

And to clarify some fake copies have a perfectly fine working save function yes the real version says firered version also note the uncentering of the words fire red easy to tell when looking for the center of the word pokemon also... They have a huge gap between fire and red which isnt right for the real one

I will say this. All my Pokémon games are legit but I also have some bootleg/custom GBA Pokémon games that I bought on purpose. They all save and play good for now, but once that battery dies, unless they build the board correctly, the game will be dead forever.

Huh. I never knew that in the PAL region, they called Tomb Raider Revelation, Tomb Raider IV. I like it better when they keep the number in the game title.

My PAL copy doesn't have IV, is just "Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation". Maybe just a variation.

Apparently it was called "Tomb Raider IV" outside of the UK.
