Title: How to report spam or offensive content?
Post by: Thom Grayson on September 24, 2015, 01:37:20 AM
Is there a particular procedure (an admin to contact, for instance), if there is spam or offensive content on the boards?

Or is the correct procedure to just ignore it and wait for an admin to get to it?

Asking in a new topic because I don't want to put the question on the topic in question, since the answer would get deleted right along with it.

You can click report post, but I prefer it if you just ignore it.  Plenty of us in and out of here regularly throughout the day and will delete it pretty swiftly.  Reporting it sends an email to all of us, and if multiple people report it, it clogs up our email inboxes.

I think most members would be pretty much unaware that we even get any spam with the swiftness we tend to deal with it.

Just deleted a spam post.

I don't even check my email the span notifications get sent too, a mod seems to always be here and it gets deleted swiftly.

Just watch out for oddly titled posts and brace yourself for walls of text and the occasional boob.

I wouldn't worry about spam.  It doesn't last long when it hits.

Weeeeeell... actually... I have twice saved spam pictures, one was this:

And... another was boob picture that came as a revenge of me deleting one porn spammer (I know it was revenge as it said here is a boob picture for you dicks).
I still have that too (it was kinda funny picture), but can't show here as here are Americans who might have a cow.

The Americans who would have a cow about that probably aren't members here.

The American populous doesn't have a problem with tits and dicks (as a whole), but the American media does. Don't confuse the two.

For what it's worth, and other mods might consider setting this up - any of the "Report" e-mails I get go directly to my junk folder - however, I still get a pop-up whenever I'm on my PC and someone reports something - so while I won't see your individual reports, if I'm online and not on-site, getting that pop-up tells me to swing by and take care of bid'niss.

If only the groups that liked them was as loud as the group that didn't.
