So I have decided to take the same approach as the Gameboy cases. I'm creating this Thread for Pledges for the SEGA Genesis cases. The amounts are listed above, once enough people have pledged I will contact each of you for payment. This will pay up the initial first batch of cases and allow me to fast track these. ;D
If we aren't able to get enough people to pledge and then front their money it is going to take me a few months before my funds are re-cooped enough to take down the first production run of these cases so close to the NES first production run.
Nice thing is, is that this mold has been created already and if we get enough pledges these can go into production within days! ;)

Just curious, about how many do you need pre-paid to fast track this?
Sadly I don't collect Sega so I have no need for this product. I hope this gets fast tracked fairly quick so you can move onto more important projects. like N64 ;)

Is it 1 time only or will you have these on your website? I got sega/repro company an need cases :) like get 1000 a month but will start with 100-600 idk yet i got new sega PCB boards in the work also have programmer so can program boards will share with public when get done with Software facebook.com/Slowcheetah97

Once the first run is complete, I'll continue to have these in stock. The fund of the first run will cover material and the remaining mold cost, then on the second go around I'll need to use other funds to get the next batch in, but after that it should regulate and maintain itself. Meaning I should always have these in stock. ;)

We already have a DVD option for Saturn Games. However, those that want to have an authentic Saturn collection (at lease in the USA) are going to want replicas of the larger Saturn jewel cases.

That's good to hear. I figured that clear jewel cases were out of the question. I was under the impression that you were planning on something just like a DVD case, but large enough to fit the original manuals. While I would have been ok with that, it would have requried a whole new template, so exact replicas is good news.

Wouldn't the existing UGC case art for genesis games stretch to genesis size with minimal effort? I've done the reverse a few times & they have almost the same aspect ratio. As long as the gen cases are the same size as the original retail ones from back in the 90s, we might not even need a template for conversion.

What wingz said. No need to retemplate, just change the aspect ratio and you're good to. And yes they are the same size as the original cases.

I printed all my Genesis covers at the proper size for SEGA MASTER/GENESIS sized boxed. It's is easy to make these alterations in Photoshop. However, I provided the requested template for this users future covers.

I like how people keep asking if these fit 32X games. The cases are exact replicas of the original Genesis cases, which did not fit 32X games so why would these...? ::)

Unfortunately no, but you might be able to get away with fitting one of these cases inside a Neo Geo MVS cart! ;)

Yeah I know about the small box JP games and the EA cases (we got those in the eu as well). Still I think US and EU sega Genesis/Mega Drive cases were at least partially looking a bit different. It was subtle but I think ours were sturdier and had a bit different plastics and texture. Hmmmm.... I only would want to replace my cases if those new ones would be at least almost exact replicas.

Basically today I am suppose to recieve the SEGA Genesis cases with the correct artwork sleeve material, I'm like 99% sure it's going to be perfect... but I would just like to know before contacting everyone and taking money. ;)

The sleeve material is better than the first.... but not 100% :P
At this point I am beating a dead horse. I will be moving forward with the second (better) artwork sleeve material and my factory will continue to attempt to track down the authentic sleeve material. (almost 20 years removed...it's kinda hard to find the stuff ;D)
I will be spamming people for their money in about a day's time. ;) I have a few other things on my plate I have to tie up then I'll come and pull the trigger on gennys!

I don't know if it was ever mentioned, but Master System manuals are slightly smaller than Genesis ones, and while the cases for Master System games look nearly identical to Genesis ones, the plastic tabs/teeth/whatever you want to call them that hold the manual in place are slightly different for Master System games.
Assuming you made these cases to be as similar to Genesis ones as possible, that means Master System manuals wont fit in them properly (they'll slide around some since they're smaller and wont stay in place).
Incidentally, Game Gear manuals are the same dimensions as Master System ones, if that helps as a point of reference for anyone.
I don't mean to poo on anyone's parade or anything, it sounds like these are really cool and could be a great boon for people needing new cases, I just wanted to toss that out there.

The shipment coming is almost 3 times the size of the pre-orders. :) Basically, the factory made WAY too many cases in their run and I didn't have the means to absorb the cost for them and the factory didn't have to sit on them, so they are sending them my way on credit. So YAY to tons a stock.... but now I have a bill to pay off. >.<
This shipment is a 20' container, it has lots of gameboy cases, about 10,000 NES cases (both clear and dark grey) and the Genesis cases.
I have a whole pile of "prototype" drafts and sample carts on my desk to ship to the factory to get drawings and quotes for molds for the next cases on my list, but I've been super busy and haven't finished it all yet. (Expensive to ship to China)
