Would anyone be able to fix up these PS3 covers for me? Because it seems like the original artists who posted these did half-ass jobs on the covers and never fixed them. I'm specifically asking for these to be fixed, because neither of these games got a post-2009 legitimate black label release without the "Greatest Hits" BS. If someone could fix what I'm asking for specifically for these covers, I'd be extremely grateful.
Dead Space
(http://i.imgur.com/C1iunV3.jpg)
1. Remove Dualshock compatibility logo
2. Add back cover PSN bar, that says trophies and add-on content
3. Replace older style # of players, space needed, and HD output boxes with newer PS3 versions of those boxes

1. Replace back cover PSN bar with one that says trophies and add-on content
2. Replace older style # of players, space needed, and HD output boxes with newer PS3 versions of those boxes
3. Provide NTSC inlay for cover, as it doesn't seem to be present on the site.

I would asking first if anyone has raw scans of the non-greatest covers for Deadspace and Infamous at 300 or 600 DPI with descreen if possible.

Quoted for posterity.
Shenske, I believe infamous was yours? Apparently you did a 'half assed job'. Tut, tut, tut.
And vt102 - half assed job on dead space? What is the world coming to?
::)

Just because these are not what you want does not make them "half-assed" These are retail covers and are posted as retail. I don't know why anybody even bothers helping you, you are so rude in how you ask for covers.
-
If they were posted as retail covers, then shouldn't they look like the post 2009 PS3 covers with a full PSN bar and all the other stuff they put on post 2009 PS3 games to change the styling of the entire logo as well as anything on the front or back cover? I'm not trying to be rude about this, I'm just making sure is all. I may have jumped the gun a little bit on saying that these covers were half assed. Because neither of them were half ass to anyone else you needed them they were just half assed in my own opinion because it it looked like post 2009 PS3 games with the whole overhaul. That's why I made such a big deal about it. Sorry if it made anyone upset. To anyone who.can fix these little things I nitpicked about, I would be extremely grateful.
-
To say anyone did a half assed job about anything is rude.
To say some of our most prolific (and excellent) cover makers did a half assed job, is VERY RUDE.
To call people half assed, and then ask for help, is....well....erm....silly. Yes I'll refrain from the myriad of other words that sprung to mind and stick with silly.
I know you didn't mean it, I understand your background, but I have said 'think before you post' so many times now, and I'm bored with it. How would it make you feel if you produced something for someone, and someone else called it half assed?
Even some of the covers I did when I started out, which, quite frankly I am embarrassed about being on the site, I would not take kindly to them being called half assed, as they were produced to the best of my ability at the time.

Retail means as they were released at retail. Sony did not go back and redesign all of the past games because they changed their template. If it is changed even a little bit, like using the new design on older games, it is custom and also takes more work than just scanning and posting. Have you ever tried using Photoshop? I was a total noob at it a few years ago but something like this where you put an already scanned cover into a template you like is not that difficult to do. You do come off as rude and demanding and I personally do not want to waste my time working on covers you ask for.

I've had enough of your snide sacrcasm, Nacho. If your going to be mean about all this, then do it somewhere, else. And to sheep, thanks for being so understanding of my situation. I have my own laptop with which to do my own stuff, now, but I dpn't have any experience making covers or using PhotoShop, nor do I have the money to buy it. That's why I ask for other people to help me alot with covers. I'm sorry if it upsets you.

Download Paint.net.
It's free (and legal) stripped down version of Photoshop, and quite easy to learn to use.
And practice makes perfect.

I'm not trying to pick on you and this is the last thing I will say. Photoshop cs2 is free to download http://www.redmondpie.com/download-adobe-photoshop-cs2-for-free-legally-while-you-still-can/
here's a forum for noobs http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=14505.0
try it out

Well It looks like I achieved my desired results with less than 5 minutes in Microsoft Paint, and cropping the image of the PSN bar off a previously made cover. I think the end result is rather nice. I do however still need the inlay. so that'll be all that's left of this request.

Apart from covers being 96DPI, quite good work.
And you did them in 5 minutes... much less time than waiting for someone else to do them. ;)
Keep practicing and we might yet get new cover maker. 8)

I am surprised that there aren't any good raws scans available for these covers.

No one has requested or request has been buried among other requests?

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Arseen. Though, I can only do covers if I have the original images to work with. I'm not really good at making covers from scratch.
This however is the best I've done with a from scratch cover, and it's only the front cover.

No problem, but I do suggest the free Photoshop or Paint.net so you can work with 300DPI images as it's bit of a shame that these good covers are 96DPI which makes them grainy or fuzzy.
Paint.net is easy to learn.
-
That's all I was trying to get at Ace, what you were asking for is not incredibly difficult if you just try it yourself. Sorry if I came off as an asshole.
-
@Arseen: How do I fix the DPI on the images?
@Nacho: It's fine, man. I understand.

Depending on the image it would have to scanned at 300DPI or 600DPI when it's uploaded.

Are you looking for a cover for Devil May Cry 4 special edition for Playstation 4 which is being released on June 18th?
-
Yes, but it's June 23rd for the US. Seeing as to how the US only gets a Digital version. That's kinda why I was trying to make my own.

The Asia and japanese physical versions are being released on the 18th.
-
I know, and their too damn expensive. Despite that I'm not a digital release type person when it comes to games, the digital version is way cheaper. I just want a box with cover art for it so my PS4 collection isn't 1 game short on my shelf; even if it'll be that way in my game disc wallet.
-
Maybe someone will scan the Devil May Cry 4 special edition cover later this month.
