Title: TI-99 4/A Template
Post by: ZX the Hedgehog on February 18, 2015, 09:13:29 PM
I noticed there was a noticeable lack of game covers for the TI-99 4/A, which is odd, considering they fit Universal Game Cases with no modification. As there were no templates or designs anywhere, I made this using a couple of low-res images I found offline, which I used to build a basic design. I think it turned out quite well.

The front and back artwork are based off of the original manual, which were recreated to fit a UGC. The front cover's art panel was also redrawn, albeit at a different size, as is the front drawing itself, which was rebuilt using the Line and Shape tools.

The template also has a theme for the blue manuals, like in TI Invaders, as well as one based off of the retail big boxes (I'd make a direct theme of that design, but sadly no decent scans exist, so it uses the manual design with a different palette & title font)

The template is here (http://www.mediafire.com/download/ccd5dk5clv2q66p/TI_Template.psd), if you're interested in making your own covers using it:

Is there any interest for this? The art isn't hard to make, and I'd be happy to work on these by request. As it stands, I'm doing two other covers for this template, TI Invaders, which will use the standard art, and Blasto, which will be fully custom. If anyone needs covers for other games, just post a comment and I'll see what I can do.

Anyway, questions, comments, or concerns are greatly appreciated. I plan on putting most of my time over the next few days on these covers, so, if you want me to modify the template, then will be the best time to do it. TI Invaders should be up by tomorrow as well, and I plan on putting these covers in all the template types.

I've never even heard of the thing. Can't imagine there's a huge following, thus no template/covers around the site.

Anyway, nice, clean template  :)

I had one when I was a kid but it got quickly forgotten once I got my Atari 5200. I don't even know what happened to it.

I still have and use mine! There is a GREAT Demon attacker it as well as Parsec and an early SNK classic Munchmobile..
I would LOVE to be able to case up my collection!

I too had a TI-99 back in the day.  Fond memories.  Of course no idea where it ever ended up.

Nice to see some positive responses!

Anyway, here's TI Invaders:

Took a bit longer than I expected, but got done nonetheless. Next up, Blasto!

Nice, I have a hand full of these games.  No system, they just kinda showed up one day in a box of junk.

Did you ever make any more covers?
