Version two of this guide can be found here (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=1866.0). If you are wondering how Game Boy or Game Boy Color games fit into a Nintendo DS case, here's a sample from the guide to answer that question.
Game Boy/Game Boy Color [!GB]
so here is how the ds cases look when you get them, unmodded.

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/normal2.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/normal2.jpg)
and here is what you have to do to them
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/Copyofnormal2.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/Copyofnormal2.jpg)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/normal3.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/normal3.jpg)
i use an exacto knife, but you can use a dremel tool as well. be careful of course when using either. Just cut the extra pieces out, and the gameboy regular or color will fit between the remaining tabs that held the advance game. their is a video on here somewhere about how to cut out the plastic strip on the other side where the manuals go
here is what it looks like after the cutting
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutout.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutout.jpg)
and here it is, complete with game inside and instruction manual

hope this helps, if you need any clarification, just let me know

ok, here goes a little more in depth explanation of how i do it. i hold my hand on the back of the case, between the plastic sheet that holds the cover, to make sure that if i do go through the back of the case, i dont cut it.
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/holdingplasticaway.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/holdingplasticaway.jpg)
now i cut along the length of this line
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cuttingline.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cuttingline.jpg)
i cut exactly where the plastic part meets the back, and i cut with the tip of the blade. i dont cut hard, i just take it and slide it along this line, again and again, until it starts to break through the back, and then i make sure it has cut all the way through.
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutting.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutting.jpg)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutthrough.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/cutthrough.jpg)
you could continure to cut all the rest out with the knife. it'll take time, and be a lot more difficult. what i usually do is take a pair of snips,
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/snips.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/snips.jpg)
and snip through the part right here,
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/sniphere.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/sniphere.jpg)
and then i grab here
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/grabhere.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/grabhere.jpg)
and then twist clockwise and pull the rest off
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/twistandpull.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/twistandpull.jpg)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/pulloff.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/pulloff.jpg)
and this is what it'll look like after you've done that
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/done.jpg (http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/done.jpg)
this is the easiest way i've found to do it. it takes less than a minute after you've done a couple, and doesnt hurt your fingers as much either. if you dont have snips, any pliers will work too, it'll just be harder without the initial snip. hope this helps. the same stategy can be used to make taking the other piece at the bottom of the advance slot off easier too.

Why did you move this thread... Isn't it a guide after all?
-
No, I made this thread myself, in the DS Case Covers forum (this forum). I think it's best suited here, but I asked if others thought the same way. No moving here (yet). The reason I think it's best here is to stop all of the topics asking about the black magic involved with GBC games in DS cases.
-
i think its a good idea to put this somewhere where it'll be easy to find. it should stop people from having to search for it, and then when they can't find it, posting a topic asking about it.
-
I'm having a large amount of trouble cutting off the top of the DS-holder part without stabbing through the back and punching a hole in the outer plastic...

ok, just so i''m sure of what your talking about, you mean this part here, that the pen is pointing to, right?

Ah. I've been using the knife the hole time, with the result that when I try to cut across the middle, it ends up going through and puncturing to the other side.
I'll try your method. Thanks!
-
Whoo! I'm famous! :)
-
Suggestion - How about linking to Daroga's original instructions along with my pictures? Someone might be really confused as to how that simple mod I made is supposed to hold the entire WWT game. ;)
-
Good idea. I also just figured out how to make images smaller within these forums!

-
Just thought I'd post about it here and save anyone else the trouble in the future:
It would appear the original Link's Awakening manual (Gameboy, not GBC) is too large to fit in the manual sleeve of a DS case under any circumstances (you can take a look at the whopper of a manual here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Game-Boy-The-Legend-of-Zelda-Links-Awakening-w-Manual_W0QQitemZ370071835278QQihZ024QQcategoryZ139973QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)).
I've found that if you simply place the manual over the plastic clips you can successfully close the case with the manual in it, but I unless someone can confirm otherwise I imagine it's putting a great deal of stress on the manual because of its awkward position, which while likely cause wear over time. So I wouldn't recommend it.
-
This sticky is a mess, and FYI I will post a new version tomorrow. (Actually its 1:26 AM here, so I guess today is more like it! :)) The new version is much cleaner and with more info!
-
Version two up (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=1866.0) in the guides section. There are a lot of questions about it here so I'll leave this post stickied with a link to the new guide.
-
How do Virtual Boy Games Fit into the DS Cases? Has anybody done it before? Any photos? Are there any better ways to case these games other then using the DS Cases. I currently dont own any DS games, but looking at a case in the store it looks like there needs to be tons of modifications.
-
anychance of doing a european version because the cases are thicker and i think a bit taller than the NTSC ones
-
I've never done any case modding myself, nor do I have any European cases. But if someone were to post pics of how they did it I could add it to the guide.
-
I've been looking it over for the past few days and I'm really considering giving it a shot of Wario Ware: Twist-a-tizing a pair of DS Cases to create a case that holds Guitar Hero and the Guitar Grip... hmmm...
-
Just take plenty of pictures if you do!
-
Would there be any interest in youtube videos being made of how to do these case mods?
I think i would have the ability to make the videos in decent quality, and I could do it in different ways (industrial glue vs. bolted together for warioware twisted case mod), and probably even show ds/ugc case mods with saudering iron (sp?), Xacto knife, and dremel.
Credit would be given to the original makers of the guide, of course.
I think it might be helpful for some people, even if most people think it's pretty simple.
If there are already Videos up, i'm sorry for posting this, I just kinda had the idea.
-
For Warioware (and soon to be Guitar Hero? :D ) cases, what would be a good material to use as a replacement plastic sleeve? I've got a new batch of 10 cases but I'll probably wait 'till the next batch for this...
-
Actually sorry for the double post, but after looking over my collection, I was wondering if anyone had ideas for casing the monstrous deck that is Mario Party E. Matter of fact anyone got ideas for the e-reader?
-
For the e-reader, and all of the gameboy consoles, i am planning to use milti disc dvd cases, with a foam insert cut to shape. Then a modified version of the GB/GBA template to cover it.
Probably not ideal for e-reader cards. How many cards are in this deck?
-
The Mario Party-e set came in a pretty hefty box - containing 64 cards, instructions and a playing mat.
-
Yeah I surprisingly still have the original box and manual and everything back from when I was in 4th grade, just no e-reader :P
This deck would have to fit in two modded cases with a foam insert, and maybe the playing mat will fit with a bit of modding. It just barely fits the width of the box.
-
I've been looking it over for the past few days and I'm really considering giving it a shot of Wario Ware: Twist-a-tizing a pair of DS Cases to create a case that holds Guitar Hero and the Guitar Grip... hmmm...
So... a year later, I'm looking into this. After destroying three DS cases, I don't think it can be done. The grip just barely fits into two cases and you have to cut so much of the case off the back of one and the front of the other, there's really just no good place to put enough bolts to anchor them together. It stinks too, because the DS card slot in the back case would be perfectly untouched - which would be able to hold the Guitar Hero game of your choice. :(
Still thinking about one for the Paddle Controller....
-
You could try a UGC, better than nothing ...
-
Does the Sonic and Knuckles cart fit well without any modding?
-
Does the Sonic and Knuckles cart fit well without any modding?
Into a DS case?! I think you are asking about a UGC, wrong topic. Answer though: Yeah it fits just fine, it just need to set sideways in the case.

Oh I'm sorry I misread the topic title :X

Has anyone tried using a soldering gun instead of an exacto knife? If not then I am going to try it out and I'll let you know how it turns out...
-
I used a soldering gun for quite some time and it works pretty well although I just recently bought a dremel and use that now. :)
The only problems with a soldering gun is that once you use it it isn't too good for anything else because some melted plastic stuff sticks on to it and ruins the tip and that there are some fumes when melting the plastic which maybe aren't too good for your lungs. ;D
-
I've trued both a soldering iron and xacto knives before. I personally prefer using the xacto blade, it just comes out a bit cleaner with a straight cut. The soldering iron kind of leaves behind a "gooey" look wher the plastic has been melted off.
-
Yeah, an exacto knife with a fresh blade is the best way to go. Makes nice clean cuts. Always make sure to cut away from yourself tho. I gave myself a nice cut in my thumb beeing careless.
-
Okay, so I'm very new here(literally first post new) and while I was looking at the GameBoy covers I couldn't help to notice that there were covers for the GameBoy pocket itself and the GameBoy Camera. Were these just made for fun? Because I'm pretty sure neither of those would fit into a DS case...
Also, do the DS cases come out cleaner after modification if you use a dremal?
-

1. First question: Covers to be used with UGC's (older fat black ones I think)
2. Second question: I think sharp knife is the cleanest but not easiest option.
3. Welcome here.

1. I thought these were the only UGC's http://www.mediashelving.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=W&Product_Code=USCG&Category_Code=MED
2. I'll try it both ways :p
3. Thanks :)
-
I would say be careful with the x-acto knife, last time I used one on a DS cade mode, I was about half-way done with my stack of cases; hit area where the plastic was different (think it was an air bubble) and the blade jumped up and left quite the deep gash in my left pointer finger. Took 6 stitches to seal and 2 years later I've still got a nice scar to show for it.
Always use a dremal tool myself now because of that.
Oh, and if UGC's are hard to come by in your area, pretty sure the GB Pocket and Camera covers can also be used with the 25-28mm double dvd cases (Like this one for example (http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1050&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackTripleM-LockHub)) can be used once you remove the extra dvd tray holder.

1. I thought these were the only UGC's http://www.mediashelving.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=W&Product_Code=USCG&Category_Code=MED
There was also black ones that were discontinued, they where bit wider I hear.
I think you can use this:
http://www.rivierapublishing.co.uk/acatalog/12_Way_DVD_Cases.html
38 mm spine where as UGC's spine is 27 mm I think.
Other easy and safe way to cut are the end cutter pliers
(http://www.jewellersequipment.co.uk/pliers/erc.JPG)

For those in the UK, I'd recommend using the http://www.rivierapublishing.co.uk/acatalog/DVD_8_Way.html -- as it's 27mm and I believe UGC's are about an inch (25.4mm)

Those I use for NES as they lack the manual holder and NES manuals can be stored inside black NES cart sleeve next to the manual.
For SNES, jaguar and other ones that have big manuals I use these with manual holder:
http://kauppa.cityplus.fi/fin/tuote/308-CO-28MM-BLACK/DVD_8_n_kotelo_mustaleveys_27,5_mm_paino_158gr
BTW: I'm 99.999% sure that I was the first on this site to suggest using those on 29 October 2009, 12:58:48.
-
Here are the pictures. The Ridge Racer 64 is the first cover that I have printed from this site and it fits snuggly in the case sleeve (although I used nero cover designer to print it so it is rescaled). The Multi Racing Challenge is actually the cardboard box cut to fit and inserted (I didn't cut it. I bought the game secong hand in a VCR case).
There is also a shot of the empty case. This is an 8 DVD case. I tried to NES carts and they just miss out on fitting (they are a little thicker than PAL SNES and N64 carts). So I recommend the 10 DVD case with is some 1/8" (3mm) thicker. Remember, the DVD mounting in the cover takes up 1/8" each side.
For SNES and other carts, the Univeral Game Case appears to be best but sadly I am not sure if I will never know as the cost of shipping from the US is prohibitive.
All in all, wide multi DVD cases do the trick if there is nothing else around, and SNES and NES boxes fit if you are not interested in preserving them.

I've been hearing about how new DS game cases have been coming out that do not include the gba slot in it. Does this apply to the black models being sold at the nintendo store currently?

Yeah.
That's where I've always bought them. You can get them for less than $1 each.

The place where I live is Europe, Finland to be exact.

Man, the idea of cutting these with an Xacto is terrifying (O_O)
A Dremel/rotary tool is about the only way to go. I've got the perfect bit for this sort of thing. I'll have to snap some pics tomorrow when I cut a few of these up. Plus, you end up with a WAY cleaner result that won't look nearly as hacked ;)
-
Actually it seems I'm not getting these as the sellerr is afraid to ship overseas.

Exact same shit I got when I was trying to get these down here.

Actually it seems I'm not getting these as the sellerr is afraid to ship overseas.
That sucks. Maybe if you give him my address in Columbus, OH he can ship them to me and I can ship them to you for just whatever the post office charges me.
-
I have already cancelled the transaction as requested by the seller.
Instead I bought Japanese CIB copy of Clock Tower for SNES... someone will be pleased... ;)
Besides I got positive feedback score to boost my points on ebay
If someone sees them coming up again is willing to help me get them, please contact me.

^^^ Just regular DS cases? If so, there's dozens of auctions for lots of 20-50. I would also be completely willing to help get them to you as well.

So, this is how I modify the cases for GB/GBC games. You're left with a cleaner case, and a smaller opening where you cut which helps reduce any deformity that you'll get in the paper cover because it wants to creep into that open space.
If anyone wants, I will gladly write up a materials/tools list and a how-to. It's probably only for the level 100 OCD folks out there, but hell, we are classic game collectors with totally absurd amounts of old-ass games that have been meticulously categorized, carefully re-packaged, and lovingly organized on shelves. I gotta imagine that's there's plenty of people on this site that are OCD enough to try and get something like this as close to perfect as possible LOL!
-
Wiggy, I would love for you to post your instructions on how to do this. My first batch of games was in EU DS cases, which are great for most things, but I admit that I'd like to have some games in US DS cases. If I knew a clean, relatively simple way to modify them, I'd be set. ;D
-
Alright, I'm on it! I'm just finishing up a couple of covers for GBS games, so I need to cut a few more up anyway ;)
-
Alright, here you go!
Tools/Materials:
Dremel/Rotary tool
Cutoff discs - http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Accessories/Pages/SubCategories.aspx?catid=58&catname=Cut-Off+Wheels
Cylindrical Cutter bit - http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Accessories/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=194
Toothbrush or any soft bristle brush
Sharpie
Xacto knife
Straight blade paint scraper
Cardboard, about 5"x5"
~200 grit sandpaper or a Scotch Brite scuff pad
00 or 000 steel wool
Pop a cart into the case and mark where you need to cut (or just use my pic as reference). See the little Sharpie mark? That's where you need to cut back to in order for GBC/GB games to fit.
Now slide that piece of cardboard in between the ploy cover and the case itself (as if you were installing a custom cover). This will keep you from cutting the clear sleeve, which would pretty much ruin your day.
Time to make a mess. Hold the Dremel vertically as in the pic with the cutter bit. Start cutting away at the wall above the DS slot where the GBA games are held.
Keep hacking away at it slowly, being mindful that you don't push down past the bottom of the case.
Hoorah!
Now you need to do the same on the DS cart holder side.
After cutting down the majority of the extruded portion, switch over to the cutoff wheel and take out the piece of the base that's in the way.
Grab the paint scraper and carefully cut any jagged edges or burrs that are left.
Now use the scraper to cut down any of the "walls" that are left. You may also need the Xacto at this point to trim any little pieces that are still hanging on.
You've probably got a pretty big mess of plastic shards in the case at this point, so take a minute to wipe it out with the toothbrush or whatever you like (canned air, paper towel, etc.)
The case should look pretty close to this now.
Now use that sandpaper/scuff pad to clean up the surfaces wherever necessary. Don't be shy here, really cut away at whatever little chunks and whatnot are left. The case should now look like this.
Last step is to go over it with the steel wool to clean up the last bits of crap. There are other things you can do to make it look even closer to the original texture, but it's just a waste of time IMO. In normal light, you can't see any remaining scuff marks at this point. The only reason you can see them so well in my pic is because there's a 55W halogen aimed directly at it.
This is in nothing but daylight. Can't see any remaining scuffs or marks ;)
Now pack up your game, give it a cover, and admire your work!
-
Fantastic post mate, if only I could get those damn cases here!
-
That is the cleanest looking case mod I have ever seen. But for once I am glad that we got different cases in Europe. Virtually no modding of a ds case to fit gb/gbc games in.
-
^^^ Thanks! I have my extreme OCD to blame LOL!
Fantastic post mate, if only I could get those damn cases here!
Well, I just ordered 100 from a site and I won't nearly all of them (too good of a deal to pass up). How many are you looking to pick up?
-
Got a link to the site? Where you located? It's usually the shipping that kills us here in Australia.
Probably after 20 to start with.
-

It was $30 to have 100 of 'em shipped to me O.O Like I said, I couldn't pass 'em up for the price.
Send me your address in a pm and I can get s shipping estimate for 20, no prob (I can just pack up 20 cases that I already have and plop on my postal scale).
-
I didn't really like the dremel tool originally because of how messy the cases looked once I was done, versus using the blade of my box cutter (which gave me smoother cuts) at the risk of slicing a finger (which I've done on multiple occasions) and at the expense of time (which, for this, I don't mind spending extra time).
But I never sanded down the cases with anything but the dremel sanding toolbit (which I wasn't impressed with), and seeing your use of the scrapper, sandpaper, and steel wool, I must admit I am impressed with how clean it looks. It's still messy in terms of little bits of debris going everywhere (especially problematic with carpet floors), but otherwise, I have to admit, these turned out very well. Plus, I like the idea of using a piece of cardboard (I usually just keep the case bent so the plastic is hanging loose, which is awkward to handle with the dremel).
Now my only question is, why is your game upside down? :P
-
Now my only question is, why is your game upside down? :P
I'm just guessing, but... In the GBA slot, there are little tabs that are designed to fit over part of the GBA game cartridge. They don't work quite right on GB/GBC games unless you put the game in upside down.
That's why I came up with this suggestion some time ago:
http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=9236.msg65378#msg65378
-
The top of GC/GBC games have an area where it's not beveled on the edge like the rest of the cart. So, to make it fit right-side up, I'd have to cut the little tabs on the case that hold it in place. I didn't think it was worth chopping off part of what actually holds the carts in, so I just put 'em in upside down. Then, I just put the sleeve on backwards so the left side holds the game when you open the case (which puts the game right-side up ;) )
It does make a HUGE mess and it takes a while to cleanup, even with wood floors :/
edit: I see I got (http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/wiggyx/icons/ninja.gif)'d!
-
While it's a tight fit, I've never had any real problem putting the game in upside up, even with GBC games. I figured the whole setup was upside down; it just looks weird to me that way.
-
It's a trade off, no doubt. Either right-side up and they don't quite snap down all the way, or upside down and they're really secure.
-
The place I was going to order from ran out:
http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/supermediastore-standard-size-nintendo-single-black-ds-case-50pk?utm_source=cj&utm_term=AC-001-2985&utm_medium=aff&utm_content=CD%2FDVD+Cases&utm_campaign=googleBase+-+AC
Does anyone know a better place to get these?
I just got 100 of these yesterday. Needless to say they aren't up to OEM quality but, for the price, they're hard to beat.
I'll do a little comparison with pics later for you ladies and gents. I'm also working out a good system for storing Neo Geo Pocket games in DS cases as well (unless there's already a write-up somewhere. I couldn't find one).
-
Ugh, thank god I only have a few of these stupid games. I do NOT want to make too many more of these :/
(http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/wiggyx/Game%20Stuff/DSC02280.jpg)

For GB/GBC carts i would seriously recommend buying the EUROPE clear DS cases, the reason because of this is the placement of the DS holder and gba slot are higher difference then the US cases, even better all that is required from the EU cases is to remove too bits of plastic from the bottom of the GBA slot and viola! a GBC holder.
Not only that, I was able to remove then with....of all things....nail clippers! The big kind were easy to use to remove the plastic clips
I would recommend http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=10423.0 for info on where to get replacement EU cases
-
We know.
Only thing why I prefer US cases over EU cases is the waste of space.
You can fit 3 US cases in same space as 2 EU cases.
-
Anyone else have or run into this problem? How am I going to fit this game cartridge in a DS case, even after I cut out the specific parts? Because that cartridge is very oversized and has a battery pack for the built-in rumble feature. The case I'd put this in, probably wouldn't close if I tried to put this in it. :-\

I kinda made an assumption that it wouldn't fit, but I haven't tried putting it in a regular DS case yet. Would it fit in the case by modding the it the way you would for a normal GBC game, or would I have to do something completely different? I'm asking this, because I don't have the game yet, but I have an umodded case ready for it.
Nope it does not even fit single EU DS case, even if you mod the hell out of it.
-
I made a double wide case for mine.
-
I made the single version for you thinking you had sawed the rumble pack off! :D
Use the double-wide cover and just ask Wiggy to make you a double-wide DS case. I'm sure he'll do it.
-
I was going to use something like the 8-Disc poly case that people were using for PS1 games, but thicker, It should work but have nothing to keep the cart down.
-
Just forget it guys. I'll get a different game, that doesn't have a bulging rumble pack on it.
Perfect Dark comes only in Buldging rumble cart.
But you can always cut the rumble part away.
It will look stupid though... ;)
-
I can haz makes teh doublez and triplez for youz ;D
-
Can anyone tell me how to make those double wide UGC cases for handhelds?
-
Talk to wiggy on that one.
-
Should I message him or will he see this?

I think he'll see this here too.

First post gives his prices to make double UGCs for you. Hope that helps.
-
hmm.. I can't seem to find where it lists his prices with that link?
-
Shoot me a PM with what you're specifically looking for ;)
-
alright, I tried messaging ya and have no idea if it sent, so if you didn't get it and see this let me know.

What I do is slide a small plastic cutting board between the open game case and the thin clear plastic. Then I can be as rough as I want with the game case without worrying about hurting the clear plastic.
ALSO, I need help. I've been trying to figure out how the heck to fit a GBC game with a rumble pack in any type of case. A UGC is so big its ridiculous, but I don't even think a DS case is wide enough. Does anyone have any ideas for putting a case on a GBC game with a rumble pack? (games like Pokemon pinball, missile command)
Thanks in advance!

I'll be making a case for the rumble pak GBC games more than likely in the next 6-ish months :)

Yep.
Buy Shadowfoz DS case.
or remove some parts of the Nintendo DS case.

I'm quite excited for these - in addition to legitimate rumble games, I have a few bootleg rumble games that will need these too. ShadowFox, do you think these will also be able to hold WarioWare Twisted, and some of the GBC/GBA GameShark cartridges?
-
Just wanted to add, Nintendo 3DS Game Cases work great for regular Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. No cutting needed. I just added some tabs to keep mine from shifting around in the box.
I've also got a Mega Memory Card, e-Reader, and copy of Pokemon Pinball that I'm going to be attempting the bolted-case thing with... but with the small twist of using foam inserts to hold the devices in place.
Sorry no pics, first time posting here.
-
Maybe this was already asked, but why cut so deep? Wouldn't it be cleaner with a file and just make it flush with the case?
A Dremel might be extreme, but an electric finger nail file is enough to file down plastic (at least it works for universal game cases), and would allow you to get smooth.
