Our original plan was to do SNES / SFC and then N64 games cases, then followed by GB. However do the quicker than expected release of the EverDrive-GB we had to change the order and do the GB case before the N64 case, which we expect late summer/fall of this year. We needed GB cases for Deluxe Editions.
I know there is already a new DS sized Game Boy case out or coming out, so there was no point in us making an exact identical product. So ours follow the NES and SNES / SFC (coming very soon) and will be thermal formed. They will be black like our NES cases. These cases are slightly larger and slightly thicker than DS cases. They do fit manuals perfectly. The cover art ratio is almost exactly the same so with a slight upscale of the art already available on the site we can easily make the art fit without doing anything special like the black bars added to the NES art. I have already done it with a sample case they sent.
As you can see they are really only designed for typical GB, GBC, and GBA carts. Oddball shapes will most likely not fit. They will either bee too thick or too tall. We do plan on a generic case of the same size in the future for oddballs that aren't too thick.
We understand many people here probably prefer the DS style case, which is perfectly understandable, this is just another option. Our plan is to basically make cases for all systems that EverDrives are made for. We may also venture into some other systems as well. I will post photos when I get the prototype in which should be a week or two. I currently do have a sample case that is the same size that the factory sent me and it does look very good with cover art in it and they are very durable.

I like this, and would purchase these in a heartbeat.
-
There's a few other systems that should be able to fit with some tweaks if they're not past that phase. Lynx being a big one, they're almost the same size as the GB\GBC, but that curved lip on most games may give issue. I've be interested on how it fits in this case.

I believe Lynx games are just a hair wider and a bit shorter than GB. I will test when I get prototype. With the slight give of thermal form cases that might actually work well to hold the lynx game in place.

NGPC probably wouldn't fit, right?

BitBox GB / GBC / GBA Case prototype. Sorry I actually don't have a GBA cart at my house. I will have to get one from store. Will post pictures of that when I got it. I will also test Lynx.

Got GBA and Lynx game, both fit great. The Lynx cart is not as tall as a regular GB cart, but it is a hair wider. Since its a hair wider and the more flexible nature of the thermal form case the Lynx cart fits perfect and is held in place very well.

Tested out some cover art today. It appears these can be slightly up-scaled without much issue. We should be able to run all DS case-based art through a script to resize it correctly.

Thanks TyrannicalFascist, sometimes it feels like I am talking to myself here. :D

These look fantastic! I can't wait for them to come out! Btw: I like the fact that they are black like the NES cases. I seems like what Nintendo does with their cases now. If you look: Game Cube and DS cases are both grey, squared, clam-shell cases and Wii and 3DS are both thinner, white, rounded clam-shell cases! Now NES and Game Boy cases may join the console-handheld uniformity ranks! ;D
-
Not bad.
While I'm going with You-Know-Who for my cases, I like the square shape, closer to GB boxes.
-
Awesome, where can I buy this?
-
I'm actually thinking of getting a lynx in order to get some of these on my shelves.......
-
something looks a bit off to me maybe i am just used to seeing DS cases

Should be out later this month or early next month at our store (www.stoneagegamer.com).

Probably. They won't be everyone's cup of tea. A lot of people also said that about the NES case, and we did win over a lot of people after they tried them.
-
Even if i'm not buying them, I would not mind if my covers are used, I remade a lot of popular titles for GB, GBC and GBA, Like Super Mario Land 2.
Not all my 3DS covers are in DS, and a few DS are not in 3DS, and the way I made my template, you will have to do a little more work to scale them correct, I have wider banners on the front and back to make the art less stretched in a DS case.

Any news on these cases? What about N64 ones?
-
NGPC probably wouldn't fit, right?
I too am interested in this. Looking at them, I doubt it, but it would be nice if they did. I'd be fine with them fitting with or without the clear clamshell cases still on the carts. NGP may not have as big of a following, but it would be disappointing to see it overlooked. The J/UK official clamshell cases are becoming harder and harder to come by so having a good alternate source (besides modded DS cases) would be super awesome. Even if they are a bit too small but still held in without falling out when the case is closed might be good enough for me.
Either way, I look forward to picking these up for all my GB games. I didn't realize they would fit GBA games, so I may go that route as well. I was going to use DS cases but perhaps I'll use these instead to stay more uniform next to my GB/GBC games :) As always, SAG makes some good stuff.
Any news on these cases? What about N64 ones?
Not sure about the GB ones, but there was a comment on SAG's facebook that said the N64 cases were expected this fall sometime.

NGPC games are small, way smaller than GB carts.
-
Eyeballing my carts on top of each-other, NGPC will fit from what I can tell. They are smaller than a GB cart height AND length wise, length if only by a bit. I'd love to case my NGPC carts in these! ;D

Just got in my EDGB Deluxe Edition in one of these. Will be at Dragoncon all weekend, but starting Tuesday I'll be happy to do comparisons with Shadowfox's case on GB/GBC/GBA, Lynx, NGPC, Game Gear, Virtual Boy, Game.com, and whatever else y'all think I might be able to shoehorn in that I own (which.. is probably nothing, I think the only semi-major handheld I left off was Wonderswan, and I don't own anything for that because I don't do imports generally)
Gut instinct from how it fits the GB/GBC is going to be it'll fit Lynx and that's probably it. NGPC and Game.com are small enough to fit, but a little thick, with the vacuum formed bitbox I don't think it'll work. Virtual Boy and Game Gear are too big and again, the vacuum forming doesn't lend itself to easy mods.
Miiiiight fit GBA. I can't tell from the quick glance if the lip for them will screw with it or not.
Anyway, will report back on Tuesday if anyone has any questions.

They are made to fit (most) GBA. There are notches there to allow the lips to fit. Thus why its called BitBox GB / GBC / GBA Game Case. :)

Fair 'nuff! As I said, only glanced veeeeery quickly at it due to various circumstances.

Any idea when these cases will be released?
-
Keeping an eye out for these! GBA is one of my favorite systems. A handheld SNES with updated tech.
Any updated ETA?
I have all my GBA carts in individual small plastic cases. I'd love for them to match my SNES BitBoxes. Especially for ease of browsing.

The cases are made, we just didn't order very many because we had a lot going on. So we ordered some to help us cover our ED-GB Deluxe orders. We hope the GB case will be launching officially with the N64 case.

Would be really cool if you would incorporate Game Gear as well. just saying...
-
Figured I would update this regarding NGPC carts. They DO fit well if you keep them in the snapcases, which I would prefer anyway. I've attached some pics. What I found is that they're a bit too wide in the snapcase horizontally, and a bit too short vertically, but once the BitBox is closed with them vertically, they don't move around at all so long as you have a manual in the BitBox as well. Thin manuals and thick manuals both seem provide enough padding to keep the cart from sliding around even when shaken. However, a thicker manual will prevent the BitBox from closing completely, but it closes enough to stay closed - there's just a small gap between the two sides is all. It definitely won't make a different sitting on a shelf.
I'm hoping to eventually have original hard cases for all my NGP carts, but these will work until that happens :)

We have always wanted to do a Deluxe Edition EverDrive-GG, but since there was no good case we never did. Game Gear is something we will do eventually, but just not high on the list.
-
Yeah, can totally understand that. Not exactly a massive market to tap into there.
-
I read somewhere that Krikzz is working on a Game Boy Advance Everdrive. Have you heard anything about that? I'm wondering if it will be backwards compatible with the GB and GBC.

Nice. ;D
-
These are still planned to launch at the same time as the N64 case right?
-
do you think these would be just big enough to contain a Virtual Boy game? I know those can't be in high demand but it would be nice.
-
Are these still happening along with the N64 BitBoxes? It'd be a shame if they were just forgotten - many huge GB/GBC/GBA libraries out there waiting for their amazing BitBoxes surely :)
-
So what is going on with these cuz i have gameboy games without cases that need them
-
Do these cases secure the manual in anyway? It looks like they're just flopping around loosely in these.
-
Can we get a status update for these? It's been quite some time but I'm personally still interested in them.
-
Still no word on these?

Are the GB/GBC/GBA cases with artwork still happening? Hopefully so!

Are these cases ever going to be sold separately from the Everdrive GB? Really hoping to get these cases...

Does anyone have a BitBox version of WWF Attitude , WCW Mayhem, ECW Hardcore Revolution, Vigilante 8, NBA Jam for Game Boy / Game Boy Color?
