Title: Hard Registration
Post by: Whoa on September 28, 2006, 03:39:35 PM
Registration just took me about 8 minutes because I could never get it right when asked to identify the letters in the 'picture'.... I doubt I'll ever have to register here again, but for those who do in the future, is there any way to make it a little bit more obvious what needs to be typed...?

Were the letters just hard to read? Did the "Listen to the letters" link not work?

I had the same problem when I registered. The letters where tough to read and even when I was sure i typed in the correct letters I got an error message. I just reloaded the page to get new letters and it worked after about the fifth time. In addition maybe you should use letters that are easier to differentiate. I had to get really close to the monitor :)

The "listen" feature didn't work for me because my pop-up blocker was being annoying, and even after I did get it to come up, the sound wouldn't play for me.... Not sure why.... I just did what Kaiser did and reloaded the page about 12 times trying new letters until I got em to work.... I think the problem is that they look like multiple letters... I kept getting a bunch that could either be 'y's or 'L's and ones that could be 'h's or 'k's....

I had the same problem. Couldn't tell if one was a y or a g. Also, for me in Firefox, the clickable link to provide a new set of letters did not appear to do anything. Since I have no speakers for this computer right now, I was unable to try the audio link.

I took everyone's advice and installed a new visual verificatoin system that appears to be much better. Let me know if this is still an issue for anyone.
