Title: ***Updated!*** HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST
Post by: Snowcone on November 28, 2006, 03:20:28 PM
It's in your interest to follow these guidelines. Many of our artists specialize in a single platform and if they don't see your post, they won't know what we are missing. A single standard makes it easier for an artist to see your post.

Titles

Topic Subject: Platform - Game Name - Region - Raws - Raws Only - Custom

(Only the first three descriptors are required)

Examples:

PS1 - Doom - NTSC
A retail cover for the PS1 game Doom released in North America

Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl - UK - Raws
A retail cover for the Wii game Super Smash Bros. Brawl released in the United Kingdom. "Raw" scans are provided within the post, only cleanup of the already scanned cover is required.

NES - Super Mario Bros. - CA - Raws Only
"Raw" cover scans for the NES game Super Mario Bros. released in Canada are the only things needed here. The person requesting the scans is capable of cleaning up the raw scans on their own.

360 - Viva Pinata - JP - Custom
A custom cover for the Xbox 360 game Viva Pinata released in Japan. A description of what the custom made cover should look like is in the post.

Multiple Requests

Topic Subject: Platforms - Various Games - Raws - Raws Only - Custom

(Only the first two descriptors are required)

Examples:

SNES/Genesis - Various Games
Multiple games for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis.

GC - Various Games - Raws
Multiple games for the Nintendo GameCube. "Raw" scans are provided within the post, only cleanup of the covers is required.

When a Request is Completed

When your request is completed by a helpful member of the community, please do your part to make sure others have the same luck. To make it easier for fellow members of The Cover Project to see requests, please add "***DONE***" to the beginning of your topic upon the finishing of the request. If adding "***DONE***" is not possible without changing the title, you should shorten it to make room. After all, the request is finished, what's there to lose?

Example:

***DONE*** Wii - Wii Play - US

Bumping

If you're lucky you'll get a cover right away, but it can take months if no one has what you're looking for. To give your request another chance to be noticed, you may "bump" a post. The rules for doing this are as follows:

1. A "bump" is any post with little to no information about a request. Examples of this are "bump" or "anyone have this?"
2. You are only allowed to bump a topic when is is off of the first page of the request list. One page is 20 threads. When yours is the 21st thread, and moved to the second page, you may bump it.
3. Consecutive bumps are not allowed. Delete your prior bumps in a thread (if any) before making a new bump.

Notes

You can elaborate in the post body if you have any special requirements.

Although technically the region for many games in the North American format are not "NTSC", it is the easiest way to refer to North America and have people know what you are talking about. Alternatively, you could list your region as "US" etc.

Keep in mind that many of the regulars around here buy boxes simply to contribute to this project. Please show a little respect towards the people that have invested a lot of time and hard work into this project.
