Someone scanned for me and sent me.
And SRY, this one I uploaded isnt the USA one, yes it is Canada NTSC.. (its kind a Multi 3, its Canada/Usa/Mexico)... but the guy that gave me bought in Canada.
First I have tryed using the one that someone uploaded in the Raws (THAT one is the USA), (http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/raw/Sony%20-%20PS2/ErggtheGreat.retail.raw_ps2_guitarhero3.jpg)
But it was with so much moire effect this one in raws, that the one I recived made up a much better... I compared...
Anyway I personaly dont think its exacly blurred (no more them 90% of all scannings does).. I just think you guys are speaking about the tiny white text over the light red background there... and tell u... 80% of the scanners ppl use around wont get much better them what u see on this cover... I belive so... (and also bevlie me, I had to correct moires effect on this one also)
For a JPEG version in 300dpi I realy think thats in perfect shape...

7 Wonders: Front ok.... Back looks really really bad.... Text is non readable and I mean the big text by this... Very low res stuff....
Art of Fighting Anthology: Front ok.... Back ok but the lower text on the back is non readable... I don't know what happened to it.... Looks as if it was deleted half....
7SINS: It uses a back from mobygames! Mobygames just has low res stuff which means it looks bad.... mobygames watermark is on back....
2002 FIFA World Cup: Complete cover is from mobygames.... There are still the watermarks on the front and back!!!! Low res stuff....
4x4 evo 2: Again.... Front ok(but pixelated nonetheless)... back very very low res.....
1945: Again low res stuff on the back....
18wheeler: looks ok but could have used a little more cleanup on the front...
Inuyasha: looks ok besides that there is a big withe border on the back of the cover on its edge(left)....

After you've scanned a cover(perferably at 600 dpi by the way => for editing) and you use it to edit it it always stays at 300(600dpi)
You can see this when you alter the pixel dimensions or the dpi....
When you change the pixel dimensions the image get's smaller physical but the dpi stay the same BUT when you change the dpi the image stays the same physical but get's smaller in the pixel dimensions.... BUT when you change the dpi the image stays the same physical but get's smaller in the pixel dimensions....
A good way to see if a cover wasn't 300dpi to begin with is to open it up in photoshop and to look at tiny text passages at the back or company logos on the front... If you can't read the text or the company logo looks pixealted then it's propably from a low res scan....Yeah, thats a good place to analyse, but you know it has some filters and technics that can correct this alot, and its good to add, that if that was well corrected the cover is in Ok quality.

This ok, thank you for your patience.
Sadly happened to be that you judge all covers by its tiny text in the cover backs... a thing I never cared about it quality... and as I can see without check the qualities of front, spine and the rest of the back... I say that cause you not aprooved covers that had Spines, Front and Backs (besides the small text) even better them some you aprooved.
But its ok, I understand now you guys value this area (go figure :) ), I will keep this in mind this on next uploads, and have more care about what upload.
Yesterday I got a nice game package of scanned covers... I started to check the PS2 ones on the package, and found some good stuff this site doesnt have yet, I will double check it and upload.
Be COOL! I understand better now the project quality requirement. :)

I was looking at the requests thread, and this one caught my eye - Prince of Persia Trilogy NTSC.
I know this had an official PAL release, but not sure about US, so went the custom route.

If you use older covers from the site to do your covers better double check on the quality of the covers.... In the beginning of the project quality control wasn't all that strict so there could be low res stuff in there somewhere....

I don't mean to be a pain, but would you be able to PAL-ify these RE PS2 covers? I don't need Dead Aim, but if you want to do that one as well, who knows, I might end up getting that at some point. But these covers look much better than the originals, and it'd be nice to have them all matching.
One extra request if you do make PAL versions, though. Could you either leave the PEGI/OFLC rating off the front, or just upload a second copy without them? The rating logo just seems to really stand out in those preview shots and distracts from the artwork.

Yeah, I was honestly afraid to do that myself. My computer already crawls trying to run 20 MB Photoshop documents. I think if I tried to open a 125 MB picture, it would bite its own tongue off.

are you using software like coverXP to print the covesr, maybe its resizing them to fit

Hey Jl3legend, just FYI, put the name of each game either before or above each scan so the site can tag them for searches. If I searched for "Spyro New Beginning" I would not find your scan of it because that's not how it appears in your post.

Submitted like a week or 2 ago but it's still not up, and it seems like the forums is where one might share something that might not meet specific criteria? I dunno. Hope I'm not pissing anyone off lol.

I saw this one, it has a lot of jpeg artifacts. Seems like it may have been stretched up to size or taken from a low dpi and dropped into a 300dpi work area.

I made a NA cover for Oni using the front artwork from the PAL version. I thought the PAL cover was more scanner and printer friendly since the NA cover is reflective. Hope you like it.

Someone scanned for me and sent me.
And SRY, this one I uploaded isnt the USA one, yes it is Canada NTSC.. (its kind a Multi 3, its Canada/Usa/Mexico)... but the guy that gave me bought in Canada.
First I have tryed using the one that someone uploaded in the Raws (THAT one is the USA), (http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/raw/Sony%20-%20PS2/ErggtheGreat.retail.raw_ps2_guitarhero3.jpg)
But it was with so much moire effect this one in raws, that the one I recived made up a much better... I compared...
Anyway I personaly dont think its exacly blurred (no more them 90% of all scannings does).. I just think you guys are speaking about the tiny white text over the light red background there... and tell u... 80% of the scanners ppl use around wont get much better them what u see on this cover... I belive so... (and also bevlie me, I had to correct moires effect on this one also)
For a JPEG version in 300dpi I realy think thats in perfect shape...
