So i was looking for a cover for this game online, but couldn't find one ... so i've created one myself (Work in progress). Let me know what you guys think!
I've found a front and back via Google but the resolution was pretty low and some text is not or barely readable, so i've tried to copy some basic text from other covers and put them in there.
So ... here it is: http://s225.photobucket.com/user/Makeda_evil/media/Overig%20-openbaar-/DragonballPALUGCcovercopy_zpsa4f92e55.jpg.html (http://s225.photobucket.com/user/Makeda_evil/media/Overig%20-openbaar-/DragonballPALUGCcovercopy_zpsa4f92e55.jpg.html)

Hmm, quite OK placeholder... Thank you.
Maybe type the few super blurry texts... I know you can type... :D
Also you can use emulator (or if desperate super high quality Youtube videos) to capture new screenshots.
-
Thank you for your feedback. I've been working on this on Photoshop, so it's all easily editable :)
I still gotta work on those bits of text and that screenshot on the back :)
-
Ok, i revised it a bit. And made some minor changes. I wanted to keep it as original as i possibly could.
Also, i've found a HQ custom cover here: http://nminis.blogspot.nl/2010/04/dragonball-nes.html
And used some bits and pieces from that one to make this UGC cover: http://s225.photobucket.com/user/Makeda_evil/media/Overig%20-openbaar-/DragonballPALUGCcoverv10_zps588de715.jpg.html
-
Better, but I'd still re-type all the text except the main back text, and replacve the screenshots and faces, and barcode, and quality seals.
-
I've managed to redo the barcode with an online barcode generator that looks exactly like the original one: https://www.barcoderobot.com/upc-a/045557873103/
I know i can type lol ... but i want to keep it as true to the original box as much as possible, and i don't know what font they used for it -.-;
... as for the screenshot at the back, finding that one in HQ would be a pain and to make my own wouldn't be true to the original box. Although it would make the cover look a lot better. The border is easy to do around the screenshot (border radius i think was 40px with a border thickness of around 7px)
The game description at the back, is the text i've re-typed myself with a font that looks a lot like the font they've used for the original box (aswell as the 2 red lines of text at the front of the cover).
As for the Nintendo Seal of Quality, i can't find a higher quality image on-line. The original ones that where on this cover where even worse, so this is already an improvement.
I like your feedback by the way, it encourages me to keep going and improving!

I know it's the battle between 100% retail that looks OKish and somewhat retail that looks amazing.
I'd go with the latter first and then if perfect raws appear do the full retail.
-
Yeah you got a point there ... might aswell go for the good looking one :)
I've redone ALL the other text, turns out it's just Arial LOL ... spend like an hour or two trying to figure this out.
Also, redone 2 faces on the front of the cover (from a screenshot i took while emulating the rom..) and took a new screenshot for the back of the cover from the first area of the game.
And redone the border that goes around the screenshot. And ofcourse, redone the barcode (that looks exactly the same as it should be) :)
Also did some minor adjustments to the position of some elements on the back, to make it look that little bit nicer.

Unfortunately though ... i can't find a better looking PAL Nintendo seal ... :(
-
Looks way better.
Beside the 4 missing faces and the better seal (can be stolen from suitable cover on our site) only thing I'd do is edit out the word pause on the screenshot (easy to do, just copy suitable piece of mountain from other part of the image).
Excelent work.

Maybe you could use mine:

-
Nope .. says the files i try to access are either deleted or are unavailable to me. :(
-
No problem though, got the seal sorted now.
Also, removed the PAUSE from the screenshot :)
And managed to get 2 more faces from screenshots from Youtube vids.

Sorry, but that seal is horrible. I've reuploaded mine to mediafire, so it should work now:

I didn't think mine was all that bad to be honest, considering I have to make it like 400% smaller anyway ... but i have to say that yours is a lot better yeah.
And yours got that ring around and the TM trademark logo. Thanks ^.^
-
I can't seem to get the images for half of the faces on the front ... might be better to just go with Goku Bulma and Master Roshi for now.
Atleast the cover now looks pretty good i think. Thanks again for the feedback and the Nintendo seal, but i think i will stick with this for now.

Yes looks very good.
Hopefully you eventually find the missing faces.
Anyway enjoy your custom title.
-
Also, i wanted to upload this as a custom cover, but there is no option for Dragonball under NES games.

Upload as the next cover in alphabetical order.
But don't be discouraged if it is not added as the cover is not quite finished and it highly likely will not yet pass the super strict quality check.
And the waiting time is looooooooooong and it is not told if the cover is rejected.
-
The 3 main issues with the cover are:
- The things surrounding the front image are not solid = easy fix with magic tool.
- The upper left corner of the front image = Very hard fix without new source material.
- The left side of the front image is partially out of focus = near impossible fix without new source material.
-
Upload as the next cover in alphabetical order.
Or upload as "Dragon Power" since that's what it was released as in the west.

Didn't mean to be rude, was just being honest.
And here are some tips if you do a rebuild of something:
- Put the original image as the background and lock the layer
- Edit your image at 50% transparency (or whatever you're comfortable with), so you can see the background layer
- If the image has lots of solid colors, consider using vectors
- If you don't know what font is used, try using WhatTheFont (http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/) or Identifont (http://www.identifont.com/). They help a lot.
Anyway, pretty decent cover. Hope to see more.

Wow i didn't even notice that to be honest. The dragon is missing a bit in the top left, i see it now! :(Upload as the next cover in alphabetical order.

I thought i wasn't released in the US at all, didn't even knew it WAS released, but a year later and under a different name alltogether! My mind is blown lol! :)
I figured that maybe the label on the cart could be usefull, but the scan looks pretty bad when zoomed in ... even worse than the pic that i used for the front of the cover :S
Guess i can use some vector shapes for the little squares and the top/bottom of the front image. But the loss of focus on the left is a whole nother problem :S
Although i might be able to fix the dragon (top left corner).
-
Maybe you can use these:

The front of that box is actually in really good shape.
Only recoloring of some larger one color areas is needed = simple task with magic tool.
-
I've been trying to fix it for a few hours now ... i just can't do it :S
I know my way around photoshop a bit, but i'm unable to fix this unfortunately ...

Wow, looks awsome if you ask me! Gonna print this one out next thing in the morning :) And you got all six face images on there :D
I see you also made the DragonBall logo's a bit darker, looks good. Thanks! Looks awsome :) :)

You're welcome ;). You did good on it initially I just adjusted here and there. The logo you had on there was a bit uneven so I swapped it for the original one ran through a vector program. Even played the game to get those screen shots. Not a bad game I must say!

Just wanted to say thank you for this beautiful cover.
