As many of you already have, I decided that I am going to case all of my disc based games into standard DVD sized cases. Specifically PS1 will go to PS2 cases and Dreamcast, Sega CD, and Saturn to Wii. But my question is, what do you do with the jewel case front and back inserts? While I don't want or need them, I definitely do not want to throw them away and I'm not sure anyone would want to buy just the inserts. So to everyone that has made the switch, what do you do with the jewel cases and inserts?

Lol, I can take those inserts off your hands ;)
but you can always remove them from the case and put them inside the dvd case...the dvd clips should hold them down fine. (I say this just in case you ever decide to go back to jewel cases you won't need to hunt down it's original artwork or reprint it)
As for the cases...you can always try selling them locally on craigslist for cheap...I'm sure there's someone out there looking to replace their own broken jewel cases

Just stack all the inserts into a plastic storage bin for safe keeping. Although I still don't understand why folks hate jewel cases so much.

Just put them in a storage bin or give em to someone here :)
I like how much less room the jewel cases take. Plus, they are easy to find and replace.

I plan on getting some poly cases for my jewel case games.

is true that they break easy but jewel cases take less space on the shelves

I will be the one detractor to this. Overall, my DVD-cased jewel case games now take up LESS room on the shelf. This is because I had a large number of multi-disc games. Once they've been put into 3 or 4-disc DVD cases, they take up far less space than they did before. Vertical space? Sure, they're taller. But the space looks more well-managed now, instead of either having a ton of empty space above the jewel cases or having a jewel case-sized shelf space sitting empty because I don't have any other games to display there. So if you've got a metric shit-ton of standard jewel cased games, then it would make more sense to save storage space and keep them in a shelving unit specifically set up for that. But I don't, so the method I use now works best for me.
All my jewel cases and inserts are kept safely in storage. The manuals stay clipped inside the DVD cases.
