Just ordered my iPad Air 64 gig - arrives Tuesday (iHope) - i've been limping along with a launch iPad 1.

Going to be an expensive November, as my PS4 also ships at the end of this month.

Got all the games by trading in some of my dupes and unwanted stuff. All discs mint. Didn't spend one dollar. ;D

Grabbed a couple snes games.

$20 for the pair.

Not a steal by any means but I'll get $20 worth out of Magic Sword alone.  And phalanx has the best box art ever.  Can't wait to case that bad boy :)

Tying the knot next week which means funds will be limited so these will be my last pickups for a while.

Picked these up at the local Goodwill store:
Final Fantasy VIII was $6.00.
Crazy Taxi and Tiny Toon Adventures was $4.00 each.
Mozart's Requiem Mass in d minor LP was a whopping $0.49

I'm not a big RPG guy, but I'm getting into FFVIII. It's funny, because I tried to play the 'better' FFVII like a billion times, but could never get into it...

Its all about preference. My friend hates FFVII. I hate FFVIII. I enjoy the anime/cute style characters. I also like power leveling without worrying about bosses staying super tough.

Nice!

It's crazy how much those Taito NES games go for.

Glad I got those out of the way since they keep going up in price.

Out of the 5 I'd say Little Samson and Power Blade 2 are the ones I'll probably end up keeping.

I'd say the kid would definitely put a dent in the collecting ... at least until they get old enough to start gaming with me.  My fiancee and I have lived together for almost 5 years already and 2 incomes definitely helps.  I'm hoping that if we get any cash from relatives that I'm able to use a bit on games.

She's pretty supportive of the hobby which is awesome .. as long as I keep my stuff neat and organized she's cool with it.

I agree with you wiggy :D

Pickups:

Conker and Stubbs games aren't new, but the guides are. I've never really picked up any guides before, but these are starting to grow on me. Also another copy of Conker since my last one was disc only.

Heard good things about Serious Sam for a while. Liked immediately after playing.

Already have Mega Man Anniversary for PS2, but it's good enough to have twice.

Not a videogame, but I found this at Goodwill.

Nov 5th Update:

Added an extension cord to spare ps2 controller to reach the couch. Just got the PS2 Logitech controller to match the xbox one I already had. Unfortunately, it was separated from its receiver. I am on the lookout for an affordable replacement.

Got SuperC to go with Contra, now just need Force to complete the set. Messed up the case while modding it for a NES cart. Whatever.

Actually you can't.  I am 100% certain.  The 150 coin Link to the Past is for Wii, not Wii U.  Therefore it is played on the Wii emulator built into the Wii U and you need to go to the Wii menu, etc.  When in this mode, the gamepad is useless and you need a wii mote.  In this case, to play LttP on a wii u you need a wii mote with a classic controller plugged in.
Eventually, when they release LttP onto Wii U virtual console, you can pay like $3 and upgrade to the Wii U version, which WILL allow you to play on the game pad.
And no, the Wii U pro won't work either, neither will a gamecube controller.  If you don't have a classic controller or classic pro, don't get this if you only plan to use your Wii U
Title: Re: November 2013 Pick Ups PREPARE FOR BLACK FRIDAY!
Post by: Megatron on November 08, 2013, 01:18:54 AM
Nintendo really made things difficult by having two different virtual consoles.  (3 if you count the 3DS one) and none of them interchange with each other.  That means any games downloaded to Wii can only be played on Wii, or the Wii emulator on the Wii U.  On Wii U, you can access a Wii menu, which acts like an emulator, playing all Wii games and downloaded titles.  You can even continue to buy VC games and save them on the Wii U harddrive - the catch is you still need a wii mote and classic controller to play.  No Wii U accessories will not work with Wii games.
That said, any titles you have on Wii VC that you would like to upgrade, you can pay a small fee and redownload to the Wii U home page.  There the game will be able to be played via gamepad, pro u controller, etc.  The downside is there are only about30 or so titles available for the Wii U virtual console.

For the Wii U, give it another few years and someone will have a soft mod for it to take care of all your needs.

As for my pickups, I got:

F-Zero GP Legend GBA (free)
Final Fantasy 4 DS
Little Nemo NES
Some car part for me Jetta
And last but not least,
The Lego Star Wars Millinium Falcon set! WOOO!

Received these over the last few days:

I just can't get used to the weird controls for RE4 on the Gamecube, so I figured I'd try the Wii variant.
The rest are just games I think are worth a shot.
Trauma Team is Atlus, so 'nuf said
Monkey Ball is always fun for the party games.
Wii Party has been done by the Runawayguys (youtube folks), seemed like fun.
Area 51 is sort of an X-files shooter, even has David Duchovney's voiceover.
Kuri Kuri Mix seemed like fun, weird control scheme, using both control sticks for two different characters at the same time it looked like.

Mega Man 7, X2, X3
Alien Soldier for the Mega Drive

and a few more Master system games.

Made a quick run to the local retro store in town, which is in the mall right across from a GameStop. All in all, it was a good night.

BioShock, Call of Duty: MW3 (Hardened Edition...?), and Perfect Dark Zero: Collector's Edition from GameStop
$11 at the local indie (for lack of a better term) store got me Rainbow Six: Vegas, Dark Void, Hitman: Blood Money, and Max Payne. They have a section of all their older 5th-7th gen titles that are buy 3, get 1 so yeah.

I also put in a pre-order for Destiny on the 360 (8th gen consoles don't interest me) but obviously that's not pictured.

also @Kriegspire Area 51 is a pretty good title, cool to see that someone else picked up a copy  :P

Had a pickup at my local game store and gamestop.

Gamestop has a buy 2 get one free for used Wii and DS games.
Kirby 20th anniversary - $20
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin - $15
Golden Sun Dark Dawn - $Free (would have been $15)

Kirby was marked used, but when I opened it when I got home, the game and book inside are still sealed, and there's a "new" sticker on it.  So I made out pretty well on that.

My local gamestore had some good used stuff too.
COD 4 GOTY edition - $5
Glory of Heracles - $4
Gold Wii Classic Pro - $15
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor *new*- $15

Not bad for about $75 total

After so long they just put the opened games to Used. If they had/have an outer box like your Kirby or my Collector's Edition of Tomb Raider then the insides are usually unopened. Managed to get my TR for 22.49 and "return" the unopened game inside to WalMart for $30 and buy the game itself later in the week from Gamefly used for $16.

I made money on Gamestop and got the collectors edition items.

Managed to get my TR for 22.49 and "return" the unopened game inside to WalMart for $30 and buy the game itself later in the week from Gamefly used for $16.

I made money on Gamestop and got the collectors edition items.

I was pondering something similar.  But none of my local places have a copy of Kirby, so I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Then I'm gonna make one just like this but with a big spot in the middle for a new TV and some place to add a blu-ray and a console and some other place for speakers! Then my gaming place will be done, just gonna have to keep filling it with games and new consoles!

I'm gonna have some pick ups picture this Friday though, just got a call from game store that my ps4 will be there with the games and all! So see you this Friday pick ups post!

Now to go and fill it up and clean everything....urghhh

For everything, wood, metal angle and screws...around 200-250$ wood was like 100$ish and angles were 11$ per...so i bought 10 that were 10 feet long. add screws and canadian taxes...around 250$.

The main part of the shelves are 8 1/2 inches high and 9 feets long, the biggest part is 11 3/4 high and 63 inches long...while the small part above the heating is 6 inches by 3 feet long.

Good lord. that's over $400 American. We don't even have basic WiiU systems here now. They were sold off and/or recalled so there would only be 32GB models.

Man, feels like it's been forever since I've posted over here. Haven't really been buying much lately and I've been busy. On the plus side, my Macbook Pro is paid off so I've had a bit more spending money and the end of this month is gonna be fun with an Xbox One and several games coming in. However I wanted to upgrade my audio system a bit before I got my Xbox One so I took a trip to Best Buy this afternoon and picked up this Harman/Kardon AVR 1710 Receiver. Sounds amazing and blows the Samsung I had out of the water. Will definitely say, it is hard to listen to anything on my tv without surround sound anymore after having it for several years. Don't know how people live without it.

I got some cheep $60 surround system in my room, that converts Stereo to Surround. I think It's not a 5.1 or whatever, but most of my things are only stereo, and it works well to surround yourself with the audio.
I had it for years and it works well still.

I may upgrade sometime soon, How much was the one you got?

Well the receiver in particular was $380 after tax. My two front speakers cost $60, where as my center channel was $10 at a yard sale and my two surrounds were $5 each. The back surround were old polks that cost me $60 at one time too. A bit of an investment but well worth it for me.

Neo Geo = bootleg / conversion heaven. Especially when collecting AES there are so many conversions out there it makes me nuts. On the other hand when you're into MVS bootlegs can be a problem. So either way you're fucked.

Nice pickup by the way segamer! That game really rocks! I got the US version in my collection. Got it years ago for 100 Euro. Nowadays they want 200-250 for the US.

How much did you get it for?

The funny thing is that all three games I bought are multiconsole. AC4, CoD Ghosts, and Lego Marvel. There's not a single exclusive that I want until 1886: The Order comes out. But I've been jonsing for some next-gen graphics.

I bought this.

Haven't tried it yet but quality seems to be as good as genuine SNES pad or ASCII pad.

Might buy another for obvious reasons.

While I plan to get a PS4, I'm just not really a Playstation guy anymore.  Now...NEXT week, when you guys start posting the Xbox Ones...I might start to feel the sting a bit.

Got my PS4 in today, must say it's a gorgeous system, must have spent 20 mins just admiring it before turning it on. Now if someone could go put out the fire at Sony's PSN servers that would be great

Not picking up a PS4 or Xbox One so I was focusing on other pick ups.  Very proud of this one.  Waited a long time and when it arrived it looked better than the picture on ebay, it is almost flawless!  Got it in a lot with the other 3 TMNT games for $99.  So either break it down $25 a piece or about $50 for 1-3 and $50 for this one.  Either way, I thought it was a good deal  ;D

Picked this up for $10 in a craigslist deal today. Proud of how the xbox collection has grown in a year.

Got this bundle from amazon today. Flipped it at gamestop for $660. I spent $539 so it wasn't really worth the time and effort, but I was stressing out about not being able to recoup my money on this after getting no hits on craigslist posted at $600. I'm just relieved to be rid of the thing. It was all I could do to keep from breaking the seal and playing.

Guy at gamestop 'accidentally' gave me $560. As I started to count money the other guy volunteers to count the money because he's "really good at it". Everyone got real quiet when I kept counting. Whole thing was weird. I'm probably not going to try flipping anymore launch consoles after this experience.

Found this kiosk outside Gamestop. This thing was a beast to load in and out of my car, but I did it. I might trade it to someone tomorrow for, what else... more videogames :D

I would keep it but I don't have a ps3 or any space for this whatsoever

I was at a thrift shop near me, which usually has nothing worth mentioning.  But on my way out the door I noticed this behind the register:

(http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/f6bb/aexke1172y6xn6g4g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/aexke1172y6xn6g/IMG_1662.JPG)

A complete, in box model 2 genesis.  Everything is there, including the paperwork which was never opened.  This system is definitely not brand new, but it looks rarely used, as there isn't a mark on the system itself, and the controller feels right out of the package.  The only reason I know it's been used are the wires have been taken out and the controller has some finger print residue.
The box is nice to have , but kinda beat up on the sides.  As seen in one side, there is a lot of tape and ripped cardboard.  Front and back are pretty damn nice, though.
It also has a sealed, 3rd party super pad inside.

All in all not bad for a whopping $10.

They also had Monster Hunter 3 for Wii for $2.  Case, but no manual.

Awesome find Megatron

Got these in the mail and added the Super Nintendo power adapter to my boxed SNES to make it complete. Yay

Traded a PS3 Kiosk for some games today. I'm probably happiest about the fact that a perfectly good kiosk didn't get destroyed and tossed into a landfill. I'm glad it will be played with by a gamer.

The deal was a modded xbox with a ton of retro game emulators, Castevania Bloodlines, and MegaManX in exchange for the kiosk. It was a good trade for us both. Already have MMX so I'll use it for sale or future trade.

Have a modded wii already, but I'm really digging having the xbox as another option to play the games I can't afford.

Got this at walmart.I feel a compulsion to leave it wrapped in plastic, even though a part of me feels like holding onto sealed games is sort of dumb.

been a while. Been busy with work, and all that. Finding a new job after I left my old job to work at apple bees for better pay ($2 more per hour), but got fired after one day...so I had to find another job.

So...here are some of my pick ups since

I got a Wii U (not pictured), off some guy at work..I think I may have posted that before...but what ever. I have also fixed my Original Xbox and now making Xbox pickups now. The Game store down the road from where I work is clearing their PS2 and Xbox stock, they want to go fully next gen.

http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/4893/ob33.jpg
Starting at the top left and moving right
Zelda: Skyward Sword with Soundtrack.
Aliens Colonial Marines (X360)
Tenchu Z
Otomedeus Excellent (It has alot of plot)
Zelda: Windwaker HD
Batman Arkham City Armored Edition
Tank Tank Tank
Syberia (Xbox)
Red Ninja
Second Sight
Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility
Assassins Creed 3 (Wii U) (I do wish they'd do a Wii U pack with the previous Assassins Creed games..my OCD gets to me when I have a series spread across several consoles)
Nintendo Land
Zombi U
and Super Mario Bros U (no cover)

I also have an HDCP stripper/RGB SCART scaler that I got a couple weeks ago. Works great.
Here is a video of me playing Twilight Princess on the Wii U through HDMI. Crisp. (apparently my Wii U has HDCP...I keep on finding Mixed things about the Wii U and HDCP, but my system didn't work on my elgato, but through my scaler, it did...so I dunno)

Nice pick up. I'd like to get one myself. I think I'm going to wait and see if a domestic version comes out.

Ye I can understand. With the Device being account region locked I unfortunately can't use the same account as my handheld but other than that I'm pretty happy with it. I can't wait to try out God Eater 2 on it.

I love the 2DS BTW, my eyes couldn't handle the 3D effect, and it made me feel old.
After looking at all the new systems launch games I realized I wanted several Wii U games vs Killer Instinct/Foza (at twice the cost)

I'm really not trying to be a dick man. I know there is a few people here that do want the XBOX One/PS4... but there is a lot of people that doesn't care for them.

I'm happy that you got something you wanted, but truthfully, in my honest opinion, I think they are both an over rated pile of crap.

I want a system to play "Good games"... not watch tv and and play sports games... Hell, I even hate the current 360's interface, it's like "Let's play a game!" and then, "HERE IS A BUNCH OF ADDS THAT NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT!!"

Where are the good games? Really? I have not seen any good titles for day one release nor upcoming titles for later on either new system... The last good games I actually played was Dragon's Dogma and Mass Effect 3 and the quest menus blew total ass on Mass Effect 3...

I cannot justify spending $600 on a console and a couple of games that does nothing better than what I already got. Especially when they claim, "It's just like the systems you got now! derp"

This becomes a catch 22 because I'm sorry if I hurt your or anyone else's feelings, but I'm not sorry how I feel, and I know someone is going to be butthurt. So then I won't be sorry for them.

*End Rant.

Agreed...sadly I have no moneys for a while....soooo, XboxOne for me in 2 years. And PS4 for me probably Next year.
Was all for the 360 even though mine died and was brought back from the dead only to die again a year later. Still prefer my 360s over my fat PS3, but over the life of both consoles the RPG list fpr PS3 is far longer than its rival console.

You bring up an interesting point that makes me think of something else. Remember cheat codes?

Developers now days have stripped games of all player customization. No god mode, no unlimited ammo, no endless power ups, no giant head mode. Hell, EA has even started charging real fucking money for in-game health packs (http://www.destructoid.com/dead-space-3-microtransaction-prices-revealed-243522.phtml). I loved being able to play games the way that I wanted to. If I got stuck at a boss or level I could punch in a code to either beat it or skip a level.

Game enhancers were a great work around when developers stopped making controller input codes. But now days even that's considered against the TOS and console manufacturers can ban you from using the device that you fucking paid for and own.

I can't see a reason to own a PS4 yet (lack of games) an refuse to buy the Xbox based on Microsoft's very poor choices regarding their hardware pack-ins (kinect) and insane DRM.

I know I'll eventually own both for myself, but for now I largely agree with Palmer. Way more headache than it's worth, which says a LOT because I'm both a huge Forza & Killer Instinct fan.  I'm more than willing to pass on those titles if it means taking a stand against a company's foolish decisions.

I'm not sure this thread is the right place to rant. It's just a thread to post video games one has acquired. I didn't mean to cause post dramatic stress syndrome or pull up repressed video game memories. I enjoy vintage games too. That's why I collect them. I also enjoy new games. The good thing is that no one is making you buy them.

@sheep2001
Yes, I am far from a fanboy. I'm a fan of all games, I don't care which console they are on. I haven't had my Xbox One more than 10 hours but I found myself a little more impressed with the PS4 hardware. PS4 is light, elegant... smaller... Xbox One is a mammoth. It's heavy, ugly. The controllers are nice for both systems.

On the other hand, I like the launch line up of games better on Xbox One. I'd rather have Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct 3, Crimson Dragon and Forza 5 over Kill Zone and Knack. At this point, it's a waiting game as to which comes out with the better exclusives.  I would likely recommend the PS4 over Xbox One due to the price as they will ultimately have the same third party content and at the moment, PS4 is running third party content better. That opinion will likely change as developers figure out the hardware.

I am definitely a little jealous about the Xbox Ones...but there just wasn't a decent enough game library to justify the purchase right now.  Maybe when Halo or something else drops my hand will be forced.  Until then...

Got my 3DS XL Zelda and IT. IS. GLORIOUS!  (props if you get that reference)

(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/cfde/ll1l5cg84dpf91c4g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/ll1l5cg84dpf91c/20131122_131931.jpg)

I preordered from Best Buy, but since they don't price match Online orders, I had to pay the $220.  Went to Walmart next door, found one on shelf and paid $199.  I also grabbed a physical copy of the game from a local gamestore and used trade in credit, so this one was free.  I plan to sell the online code for about $25 (higher if people bid but I just want it sold, so I don't care about making top dollar.  I also plan to return the Best Buy console, but AFTER the online preorder code for Oracle has been redeemed.  I looked into this, and it doesn't discount the code from the return price. And yes, this may be a shady tactic, but not price matching online orders, even when I pick up in store is bull.

Picked up the Day One Edition for my brother in law.  But for a good few hours it was in my possession lol

Also picked up LOZ: A link between two worlds and got the preorder code for Oracle of Seasons...but since I bought both oracle games when they released this code is useless to me :(

Man, those LoZ 3DS systems are even prettier then advertised. I'm jealous.

But my red 3DS XL has a Spider-man sticker on it. So yeah. Take that.  :P

@Megatron
I really wanted one of those Zelda 3DS's. If it had come with a physical game, I would have probably gotten one. If they are still available after Christmas, I many get one.  Nice pick up.

Was able to price match my bestbuy.com 3DS XL order with Walmart's deal at Best Buy. Basically saved me the price of taxes here, and will sell the Zelda: ALBW code on ebay or here if any wants it.

Got SM3DW for $37 and change after using my last $20 coupon from the power up reward points at Gamestop.

It seems to be missing the 2 game carts (Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros and Gyromite) and the Zapper.
As for the R.O.B parts only thing that might be missing is the other claw (I can see one in the second to last picture, and there might be the other in the last picture), All other parts seem to be there (battery bay doors are not pictured).

Nice find still.

Couldn't pass up my first chance at being around at launch for a console. So far enjoying it a lot. The only annoying thing is game install time. Spent more time watching tv on the dashboard but at least after today most of the 6 games will be installed.

^^^ that last sentence just reaffirms my aversion to this generation of consoles. "Most installed" after a day?! Ugh. May as well just buy a PC at this point if I want to play modern games.  Hard to believe that it's become EASIER to buy/install/play PC games than console games.

Nah I agree with you. I've just wanted to be around on launch day for at least one console and figured what the hell. My internet is slow which is one of the bigger problems. The updates are all quite large.

Both PS4 and Xbox One require the games to install. However, you can play the games while they are installing. While Killer Instinct 3 was still downloading, it let me play it. In most cases, I didn't even notice the games where installing.

I was not  looking for a deluxe system but seen how much complete sets like this go for i figure $85 is not bad , the carts i have them already and the gun, lets just hope the other claw is there. It a had quite a few watchers and it had just been listed so i wait no longer than 2 minutes to buy it. I think i got lucky finding this deal.

Like I said the biggest problem was the large updates, my internet isn't the quickest, stuck with Verizon 3mbps DSL so I can only go so fast.

*End Rant.

You arent hurting anyones feelings by expressing that the adds are BS. I will note that the big window in the UI for Xbox One is the last thing you did on the console.... which means mine is usually a game. I cant stress enough how perfect that is, because the tiny here is your disc window is beyond lame.

That being said:

Day One Xbox One
Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag (xbox one)
Forza 5 (xbox one)
Killer Instinct (xbox one: sadly its dlc only.... but Ultra Edition)
Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds (3DS... not system)
Super Mario 3D World

To be fair the system updates and any firmware update will auto install over night while the system is off/sleep mode.  So most installs and updated you will never see or notice.  And also the games will let you start playing after a few minutes while it continues to install.  Well at least the Xbone will,  but i'm sure the PS4 is the same way.

My newest pickup ->

Nice games but the build quality sucks sadly. Will see that I get carts and boxes from some used games. Then make new labels and an insert for Uwol.

My next-gen pickups aren't so impressive...

That's an Xbox One stress ball I was given by a Microsoft rep at the Xbox display at a local Best Buy. Gave it to me - then ignored me as soon as I said I wouldn't be getting one anytime soon. Didn't even TRY to sell it to me, just turned away... and there was no one else there for him to 'help' so that was awkward...

And that screwdriver is one of those triangular ones for working on DS's. Given to me after a conversation that went 'you play games?' 'yes' 'take this, it may come in handy'. Surreal.

That's only one guy that reps MS, but he really is right in line with the companie's current attitude towards gamers. The feeling I get from MS these days is pretty much 'you're either with us next gen or you can get lost'.

Stupid ass question.  I realize GBA piracy is pretty rampant, but how can you tell if its on OG?

There are several methods. The most common and consistent way to tell the difference to me is the label. Pirated carts rarely, if ever, have the stamped characters imprinted on them. If you look at a legit label closely (try using th refracting light off the label) you'll see some tiny numbers/letters stamped into it. I've never come across a knock-off cart that had them.

Another common difference is the plastic and mold of the cart itself. Legit carts have a slightly rough texture to them. Pirated GBA games are a lot more smooth, and the "Gameboy Advance" stamp looks a lot more obvious. Plus fakes tend to not have the satisfying "snap" when inserting them into a cartridge slot. They often have to be forced to fit.

Lastly back to the label, pirated games sometimes have completely different artwork then a legit game. And often the label art appears blurry, and has a stretched official Nintendo seal of approval.

The scary thing is that the knockoffs are getting better and better every day. Many of them now have the metallic print labels and "Nintendo" printed on the PCB, two items that used to be sure-fire methods for detecting fakes :(

PS4 arrived today - need for speed rivals did not.

So far i've played
Resogun - quite fun, but certainly not anything special (the effects coming out of the controller are a nice touch)
Flower - looks the same as PS3 version to my eyes
Contrast - pretty crap.  Seen/played better on PS2

So while I love the machine (it looks great, controller is the best i've ever used and the UI is brilliant) - i am not blown away by what's on offer.  I was hoping for Infamous second son, watch dogs and drive club - but all delayed.

When i started buying pokemon games i got 5 GBA games all fake and I told the seller that I was gonna report him to ebay and nintendo if he didn't refund me. I scared him, so he did. But I still reported him to ebay and nintendo because he obviously was ripping many people off.

And then when I ordered 3 Pokemon games from Gamestop's website, 2 of them that arrived were fake. I took them back to the store and explained why they were fake which took a little convincing, because they look real at first & they couldnt understand why there would be fake Nintendo DS games. I got my money back from them too though.

Considering it's the final day of November, here are my hauls for this month.

Most recently, I purchased some games from Quazimoto, which has me at my yearly spending limit (can't purchase anymore until next year - all spare budget now goes to holidays). I also included a $2 pickup from a friend (SNES - Batman Forever) in the first picture.

The second picture is what I obtained at the beginning of the month off of eBay for $40 with free shipping.

And I also finished stocking up on supplies (ignore my Nintendo Power collection)

It's got an official Famicom to NES adapter inside.  A handful of some of the earliest 1st party NES titles had them :)

I think it's due to the pin converter. It's a famicom cart plugged into a converter to make it work on NES. Most early NES games had that and I think it was changed over to a dedicated cartridge later on.

While the game is common and easy to find, not sure of they all have the converter or not.

@Segamer Thanks.

@Wiggy
Yeah, I was planning on asking for one of those, Got any spare?  ;D
I have a toploader so that should help them not get stuck in my system.

We really should complete that trade when both of us have time.  :P Its been over a year.

I got the converter because I bought a Famicom game earlier this month, I was also planning on getting SMW CIB for the Super Famicom from the same guy, but I lost the bidding and just got that.
Any good Japan exclusives I should check out?

Screws together with 2 screws. Price sorta depends. Do you want a raw printed part, or one that's been sanded, cleaned up, and painted?

It's just a case for the adapter found in some NES Black Box games, Not the adapter itself.

Depends on how much more the cleaned up costs.

Oh I see.  That's still a nifty way to make yourself an adapter to play Famicom on NES if you have a top loader.

I just read wiggy's post about the early releases of NES games... is there a way to tell if a cart has that adapter in it without opening it first? Would only be a black label/black box game right?  I'm guessing one way is it would be a 5 screw instead of 3 (no tabs).

It took me about a year but I eventually found 1 in the wild by identifying it based off the cart type and pin location.  Then about 2 weeks later, I found another one.  Since then, I have spotted a few more and have can even tell based off weight now.  They have ALL been Gyromite copies in my experience as they are the easiest to find and most people (and game shops) don't know to check for them.
