Time to try and get another of my SNES games cased. The box isn't the prettiest thing, but hopefully these scans can get the job done.
Front 300 dpi: http://www.mediafire.com/?di3t09spdv0ry92
Front 600 dpi: http://www.mediafire.com/?eryxamzyoaz348u
Back 300 dpi: http://www.mediafire.com/?ykcwxc1dkjak6gx

If the raws aren't clean enough let me know please.
Back text:
seaQuest DSV, the future's largest, most powerful submarine, is at your command!
Pilot through pirate-infested waters and take on a variety of challenges. To succeed, you must take control of all of the seaQuest's futuristic navigational, information, and weapon systems.
Explore the depths, answer distress calls, and conduct WHISKER scans to locate various mission sites. There you'll choose from the Hyper-Reality Probe, Darwin the dolphin or four different launch vehicles to complete your missions.
Conduct dangerous rescues, recover sunken treasure, and most of all, keep the peace in a troubled underwater world. The bridge is yours, captain.
Vehicles are 3-D modeled for incredibly realistic rotation and movement!

Apart for more scans are OK.
I'll give the cover a go on Monday.
It will not be perfect but should be OK.
-
I am fine with "OK". ;)

Just a little bump.

Guess what time it is?
It's bump time.
-
Post PAX bump.
-
I'm not going away! ;D

That'll do just fine. Thank you!
I just ordered another case of UGC's and I'm trying to minimize my shame pile when they arrive.

Arseen, do you think you can add this to your SNES Vertical list as an ALT cover since you don't have any linked there.
Thanks

I don't know. :-\
The cover varies from the norm quite a bit (No title logo on the back, wrong number and position of screenshots, triangle on the background of back cover, company logo on the back should be bit further from the spine). All depends on the over all quality, especially the front image's quality.
But I'll check the quality when I get home as work computer won't let me access the file.
But I warn you I can be strickter on cover quality that the Admins that approve covers for the site.

Yea, i know you are a stickler :P
I guess thats why i mentioned that maybe you could put it up as an ALT if the image quality is ok.
I can always make some changes. (Title logo on the back, etc)
BTW. I didn't put the title logo on the back because it wasn't on the back in the retail cover. Still learning.

I certainly can't see anybody being unhappy with it as a placeholder at the least. Works fine for me. ;)
-
Yeah there isn't really "correct" guide lines on making the Verticals as they are custom.
Even Cover Admins vary the style in their covers.
I just prefer:
- On Front:
- Clean front image that is not too close up shot, meaning if possible instead of cutting from the sides the image should be increased (or even build) in height without notiable distortion.
- It's OK if pieces of the front image go over the gray bars, as long as it's done well. Image should not go past the gray bars (in super rare cases even this is allowed).
- If possible the title should be moved and resizd to fit the front without it covering any vital details of the front image.
- Game company logo must be on the front after the sold by.
- Only for logo must be used if suitable.
- if Only for logo is used, art should not go over the text.
- On Spine:
- The title logo should be clean and if nesessary re-arranged to fit better. If this is done the logos on spine and back may also have to be changed.
- The bottom SNES logo must have the white border.
- No extra characters or logos on the spine.
- Same game company logo must be on the spine centered as on the front.
- On Back
- Gray bars on the background for US covers.
- Title logo must be included.
- title logo must stay on the gray bars and be positioned looking good.
- Main text must be white and readable. On some cases some artistic text parts are allowed if they look good (See Zombies cover, or was it the PAL version, I can't check it at work).
- Additional subtitles, images and promotional tests are allowed if they look good.
- Number of screenshots is three and they must be correct size and have the rounded corner white borders.
- Same game company logo must be on the back as on the front. Distance is about the same from the spine as on the front, about 1cm inwards from the right edge of the screenshots.
- Correct SNS code. On repros try to figure out what the correct code would be.
- Correct barcode. On PAL covers in US style temlate use PAL barcode, same goes for Japanese covers in US style template. For repros use original region barcode. For hacks barcode does not matter.
- If you do PAL or japanese cover with the colored ovals, please make versiion with the US gray bars for me, thank you.
- Only for logo must be used if suitable.
-

From preview i can see that it is at least good placeholder.
The thing is placeholders won't make the list for 2 reasons:
1: If the cover is crap I won't bother.
2: If the cover is near perfect, why not do the extra effort and make the cover perfect.
Anyway I'll check the cover when I get home, and either post it on the list as alternate, or tell why it was not posted there.

Added it as light green ALT meaning it needs additional cleaning.
Front image was actually pretty decent. Low resolution but should print OK.

Thanks for adding it. Maybe you can help me with some advice. For the front image I used the 600dpi scan and used some filtering to clean it up. I used the "smart blur" and them manually cleaned up the rest using the "band aid" (forgot the actual name) and paint brush to fix some wrinkles. I am surprised you say it's Los resolution as I did use the 600dpi image.
Is there a better way? I am using Photoshop CS2.

Open the image in MS Paint and click enlarge once and check the front images triangle. from mid point of Q down is OK, up is pixelated.
I'ts all in the original scan: Super flat (if not blurring occurs), straight (turning the image after scanning will cause artifacts), moire removal on ( so far I think nobody has shown realy good way of removing it after scanning).
