What about the sears telegames boxes?

I could provide some scans if you need examples, you don't come across the boxes very often, but the carts are everywhere. They are the ones with the big game numbers on the front.

They were silver foil boxes,  going to be tough to find any worthy scans.  I have planet patrol, but no box.

I think the Best bet is going to be recreate template from the Atari age box shots.
Eg:  http://atariage.com/box_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=59

HI FOLKS! my name is "BLINKY". I'm a SPECTRAWORM.
You don't know what a SPECTRAWORM is?  Well -- we are the little critters who
clean up the fruit left over in your television from that other video game that you
play!  And we do all this for "BEANS".

some of the front images could use some TLC before being dropped into the template - i just checked over Bumper Bash,  lots of scratches, and dust - and the colours need some help as they were scanned from a foil original.

Just had a quick go at fixing it to show what i mean:
Original

Quick Fix

Still not right, needs quite a bit of TLC,  but just wanted to highlight what I mean.

I only did the ones I had requests for.  Without decent scans, they are never going to be site worthy, so I didn't carry on.

Feel free to complete the sets if you wish.  ;D

Do you own all of the carts?  Or you just like to collect the covers?

Very cool! I own a bunch of the carts but am switching to emulation as well. I recently picked up the 5200 Flash cart and it works great! Next i want to get the Nintendo flash carts as well. But i do want all the covers so i can add them to the SD card with the games. Does anyone make an Atari 2600 flash cart? Or an Atari 7800 flash cart? I'm still needing lots of 2600 and 7800 covers though. It's good to see some love for the old games! :)

For the 2600 there's the Harmony cart which is fantastic; I own one and it plays pretty much everything. There's no flash cart currently being made for the 7800 though there's one planned (the Harmony 2). Ten years ago there was the Cuttle Cart 2 but those haven't been made in forever and they sell for $300+ these days.

I will have to check out the Harmony cart. Yeah, i remember the Cuttle Cart but that is out of my price range and a little dated as well. I like the newer style flash carts. I used to have the 5200 multicart that Sean Kelly made but it just up and died on me and he couldn't get it working again. That's why i got the new 5200 flash cart. The cart itself has a lifetime warranty and i can add or delete ROMS anytime i want. Thanks for the info! Ok now, bring n the covers! :)

This is still a work-in-progress, but I thought I'd share it anyway. I couldn't find a good scan of this cover anywhere, so unfortunately the screenshots and joysticks need a lot of work.

great job.
Some covers for 2600 really impossible to find, if not here ... some games impossible to find so some covers useless... .
What about 7800 and ColecoVision games ? For 7800 only few games missing to the menu and a challenge those remaining for Colecovision. You will also invest your time there ?
anyway my compliments again for all the posted covers. Very appreciated. Also appreciate yr. efforts for the Sega MK III ( and always hope to see here somewhere the covers for the previous Sega sg-1000/sc-3000 ).

Sorry, I haven't posted anything here in a while. You know how life can take up a lot of your time.

I'm pretty close to having a fairly comprehensive 2600 template done so here are some examples. I won't post them to the site without a little feed back (so I don't piss people off again) so they can be found in my box account here (https://app.box.com/s/ijvqhse10ezamfxdcsku) along with custom covers (https://app.box.com/s/u0fiuzxvugdyp5qdqqb0) that match my 5200 and 7800 ones that won't get posted to the site.

Good to have you back.

On the small previews those templates look great!!!!
If all the elements used are high rez I don't see why that template shouldn't become the new standard for doing retail/custom covers for the good ol' Atari.

You think you  could work with any of these?

http://www.mediafire.com/folder/fmyufka7kj248/Atari2600/

These are all 600 dpi, and I used descreen. Let me know if there's something I can be doing better scanning wise. The colors seemed a little dull compared to the real boxes (chase and codebreaker for example are a much more vibrant green), but I didn't want to make anything worse so I left it as it originally scanned.

Taking a break for a while, but I need to get these packed up soon for our move so I'll probably resume tonight. I have about 3 more Telegames boxes, and then an assortment of other random 2600 games in the queue.

I've managed to find covers for all of my 2600 games.  However, 10 of my games are a different style than what I would prefer.  I like having all of my spines match each other for any given system.  If I cam up with a list and an example of the style I'm looking for, would anyone be willing to convert those covers (or at least just the spines)?

I posted on a different forum looking for Atari 2600 covers.  I'm willing to pay $4 per cover if anyone can help out.  I'm looking for NTSC versions in English.  I'd prefer covers close to retail, but I will accept the silver and red template versions (beggars can't be choosers!)  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  The ones I'm looking for are:

Armor Ambush
Bank Heist
Crystal Castles
Fast Eddie
G.I. Joe: Cobra Strike
Infiltrate
Kangaroo
Krull
M*A*S*H
Mogul Maniac
Pooyan
Racquetball
RealSports Volleyball
Shark Attack
Sky Skipper
Stargate
Strawberry Shortcake Musical Match Up
Trick Shot
Turmoil

I just spent HOURS on this, redoing it from a scan of my ColecoVision box, only to find out that there was a second release with the exact same box as the CV version!!! Aaaargh!  Had to move all the smurf locations from the front, and redraw the top part of the image.  Ggggrrrrr!  Oh well - it is my favourite Coleco game - so it's nice to spend time with it one way or another.

Good work! There was on small mistake in the directory for Spike's Peak/Artillery Duel. It came out Spkie’s Peak/Artillery Fire. If you don't get to it, I'll try and fix it later.

UPDATE: FIXED

NOTE: Noticed that Pong Sports was categorized under Video Olympics. Same game?

2nd Note: Also, Arcade Pinball is under Video Pinball. Same game? Looks like the same artwork. Just wondering?

Yeah, Sears changed the names of several Atari titles. They are still the exact same game, just different artwork. AtariAge links them in their database when you look up either title.

Arcade Golf = Miniature Golf
Arcade Pinball = Video Pinball
Baseball = Home Run
Breakaway IV = Breakout

Thanks Lumberjack42!  I was looking to get quite a few of these covers for my collection.  Glad to see the 2600 get some more attention!

I've been on a mission to find and scan as many of the Telegames releases as I can, as well as any Activision ones we need.  I love the diversity of the Atari's third party library and prefer retail style for those compared to the standardized silver and rainbow template.

Many thanks to Lumberjack42 for doing all the heavy lifting by actually creating the covers!  :).  I'll keep my scans thread up to date as I acquire new stuff for the site.

Thought I'd share all my 2600 retail style covers I have printed (most of these designed by LumberJack42). I now need a bigger shelf.

Nice collection.  What kind of paper do you use?

I use this Lightweight Glossy Photo Paper (8.5 in x 14 in):

Yikes that's expensive.  I'm approaching 300 Atari 2600 games, so that would put me in the poor house if I used that.  I might use that for when I do my N64 games using the Wiggy covers.  Thanks!

Yeah I've only done 1-2 batches,  if I find something less expensive I'll let you know!

EDIT:
So I've been looking at this on Red River Paper:
http://www.redrivercatalog.com/browse/45lb-zeppelin-semigloss-double-sided.html

It's $60 for 100 sheets, vs. almost $50 for 50 for the ones on eBay, I think it's close to what I've used before, maybe even a bit thicker.

I was not super happy using matte paper for a few different reasons, I like the way the covers printed on the bright glossy seem to "pop".

Good work on these covers, i love the design. There are some games that i have, and would like to make the custom covers for them. Is there a template for this cover, the only one i saw on the site was the one listed in the guides section. Its a similar layout but slightly different.

Thanks for all the hard work.

I'm curious, how do you store your manuals? I just tested the larger Atari manuals with graphics and found they do not fit within a UGC. ???

I've been trying to decide if I should put my 2600 games in UGCs or these small cases for data tapes (https://www.amazon.com/LTO5-Ultrium-3TB-Data-Tape/dp/B003F8MT5I/) (a buddy works at a datacenter). They fit beautifully in the tape cases, and I made a template for them, but manuals obviously won't fit. (The only exception in my collection is M Network cartridges, which use adapted Intellivision shells.)

I'm not sure how I'm going to store manuals yet. 80% of my Atari carts were loose anyway. i think the Sears Telegames manuals were the only ones small enough to fit inside UGCs. I might try printing off the text versions from Atari Age.

I've found the manuals fit on the outside of a ugc under the sleeve.  I've printed out about 15 grey covers today so I'll see how they fit with the cover art.  Not a great solution since you can't easily get the manual, but at least it's there

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually just tried this today and I really like it. It's a neat effect when you open up the case because it looks like inner artwork.

I've recently been putting together artwork for all my games which don't have covers provided on The Cover Project. Most of these covers I've made don't use scans of a high enough quality to be submitted to the main site, but I figured there are those in the forums who might like to use them as a placeholder until better artwork is uploaded. Some of these covers were created by other users, and all I have done is altered them to fit a different template or corrected information. Others have been put together from the raw scans from scratch. All of them use templates provided by this site. Please Enjoy!

EDIT: It's become too much work to update all these individual threads. My complete cover list can be found in the mediafire link in my signature.

I agree, although I think retails of Polaris, the Apollo and Activision games (especially keystone kapers and pressure cooker) should get priority!

That is a BEAUTIFUL lot! Hope you got a nice deal. I am super jealous.

I recently had to box all my cased 2600 games up until I get a new shelving solution, there's maybe about 10-20 not pictured here:

I just finished up a cover for BMX Air Master. There's a red box variant of this game as well, but I prefer the original art work. There was no high quality scan available so I did what I could with whats available online. I went a step further than I usually do and replaced all the text as well. Anyway, please enjoy!

A more accurate cover of Keystone Kapers. I've used the front art from Grumbleduke's old cover on the main site. It appears he had vectorised it, but the result wasn't perfect. Still, it's better than the pixelized jpgs that are otherwise available. Everything else has been retyped and recolored to look retail. Thanks to Oobgarm for pointing me to the correct fonts for Activision Atari games!

I couldn't find it on the site or elsewhere to made my own cover of the third SwordQuest game. I am quite happy with it except for a few bits like the crown illustration on the spine, which is from a photo. If anyone wants the original PSD to further modify or redesign the cover, feel free to ask. The same goes for all the covers I submit.

I've been hoping for an Activision Dolphin cover for a long time! I'm also very excited to see the Sears Adventure cover! Those are some of the last 2600 games I own without box art.

I did notice a little glitch in the text on the front of the Dolphin cover. The "Video Computer System" text has a 2 pixel high line of distortion that goes across the length of the front cover. Perhaps it happened during the upload process or something? I downloaded it a few times to make sure it wasn't an issue on my end. Anyway, it's a tiny blemish on a beautiful cover. Please don't think I'm not incredibly appreciative for ALL the covers you've created!

Strange, and I know covers can't be deleted, only replaced, so it's stuck there now. But the new one you uploaded looks perfect, so thank you!

Working on Activision and Mattel next.

Yeah, I'm not going to pay Photobuckets ransom so preview pics from several years ago are just lost, that's why I don't post IMANDIX previews anymore.. If you are looking for a specific cover, check the side panel or do a forum search. Otherwise, you can make a request in the Request Forum and if a raw exists, I can make a cover for it.

There are so many fonts required for it that it wouldn't work well. Plus I actually bought a few fonts for it.

I have not been around much lately due to lots of other projects at home going on, but I dropped by to link my latest raws and want to commend Lumberjack on his awesome retail cover work. These will all look awesome on my shelf  - organized by publisher of course!

We are dangerously close to having raws for all of the Sears Telegames releases,. Counting the raws I just uploaded and tylerbgood's Backgammon, I think we are 12 away.

My first cover in quite a while - and the first from robbieVGB's great 2600 scans

BOBBY GEHT HEIM / Bobby goes Home [RETAIL/GERMAN/UGC]

(https://preview.ibb.co/dOciCJ/2600_bgh.jpg) (https://ibb.co/f3vEKy)

download here:  https://app.box.com/s/z6atpswvat9pj0nsrgz3ntupao467516

Now I've got the template sorted, I'll go for producing the full set on this publisher/style.

Wow LumberJack, looks like I'm going to need to buy another box of UGCs now!

I see this as a form of preservation, so it's awesome these exist. Kudos on the Mogul Maniac cover as well!

Also, I just scanned Wizard of Wor this weekend but I hadn't uploaded it yet! XD

I may have gone overboard with the Atari variations, but they were never really consistent on their packaging.

Great idea, as i'm sure there are lots of people doubling up on doing these covers, especially with people like Lumberjack and 1980Coelho churning them out at the moment, however, it would be quite an undertaking to get a comprehensive list, as in many cases there are 3-4 different retail variants, plus a sears variant, plus a TCP silver spine variant, and any other custom versions.  I love working on 2600 covers and would be up for getting covers done towards a full complement being hosted here.

A quick google search tells me there are around 250 titles, if we say an average of 3 covers per game, that's going to mean creating a list of over 700 covers.   :o

Yeah I know what you mean..... I'm really enjoying working on the Atari 2600 covers at the moment and have noticed while trying to find source material that there are quite a few variations for some covers with different regions etc.
I guess what I could do is make a similar post that Lumberjack made a few posts back with the Developer/Publisher and a list of all the covers I've made under it, and a link to my AppBox.
As you said there are probably going to be quite a few in my list that have already been done, but hopefully a few that haven't.
I always keep all the PSD's so any suggestions on alterations, mistakes or quality issues can easily be rectified.

I've wanted to do something like this for a while to track what Retail style covers exist (some are almost retail, with only a few minor modifications needed). There are some smaller publishers I'm sure we have a full retail set of (Sega and Froggo some to mind), other we are very close as more rare and expensive titles are harded to find scans for. I'll see if I can work on something in the next week or so.

I didn't know if it had another release with that spelling that I wasn't aware of. I had only seen one cover for it prior to yours.
