Title: how to put a insert on official sega case based on universal game case???

hi!
i dont know how to do a exactly question.....
i have been downloading some inserts for sega genesis but i see all these inserts is made for the "universal game case" i dont understand why people do insert for that boxes. is very easy to find on ebay official genesis box and they are very cheap.

my question is...
can i put an insert based for a universal game case in a official genesis box?
what size i must put?

how big are these universal game case from the official sega?

UGC is bigger in every dimension, they would need to be resized to be close to fitting but without it being done properly the proportions would be out with the spine spilling onto the back and front etc.

I think you need to redo them.

Some of our covers are Genesis clamshell size.

See the difference and resizes or redo them accordingly.

Maybe... but it would be painful to do and the result would probably be awful (because paint is terrible)
Go for GIMP since it's similar to photoshop but free (or just google "free paint program" to find others)

Pertaining to Genesis Insert dimensions, does anyone know what they actually are? 

The best I've been able to find so far are, with the image at 300pdi

Back: 1428w X 1987h
Spine: 294w X 1987h
Front: 1445w X 1987h

This is based off the MegaDrive insert template from Grumbledyke.

Can anyone confirm these are correct or offer another measurement if they're not?

You can easily resize the UGC covers to Sega Clamshell.  Just open the cover in photoshop and change the dimensions to: Width 10.633" by Height 6.733" 

The ratio is almost the same as the UGC cover so it won't noticeably distort the image.
