When we first started this project a few years back I was amazed at how fast we hit 100 covers. 1,000 covers took a bit longer. As things have continued to expand I never began to think we'd ever grow to be this large and yet here we are. This weekend we crossed the 6,000 mark. This includes cover inserts, disc labels, and cartridge labels for over 4,000 games on 40 systems dating back as far as the eye can see.
I want to personally thank everyone who has contributed to this project in any way. This project exists for the community and is powered by the members of that community. As long as I am at the helm, things will keep on going and the covers will remain as free as they were on the very first day.
Thanks again.

Wow that's awesome news..... We'll never stop....

*Obligatory*
KaiserWAVE, what does Snowcone say about our upload level?
It's over SIX THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAND!
I'm gonna keep doing it until you stop announcing it. ;D

Thanks to everyone involved for all you do. :)

Wow its stuff like this that makes it all worthwhile. I'm still kind of surprised that no offical word has came from offical companies such as Nintendo or Mircosoft, claiming something like "we are in violations of using their copywriten logos and materials without them getting a cent for it" I hope that never happens and the site continues to grow endlessly.

If they came after us they'd just be hurting the community that purchases their games. I'm not profiting from their work, but instead spurring interest and probably generating sales.
-
Oh you dont need to convice me of that, I know that as well as anyone, I'm just sorta surprised there isn't any hired goons after us from anyone regardless of what our intent is :D
-
That is certainly something extraordinary. I may not be here often (and not contribute to the extent of what you guys do) but I enjoy the community a lot and I happy for everybody. Keep up the good work! :D

I just noticed something odd. Snowcone said we're "Over 6,000 covers strong", yet he said, and I quote, "This includes cover inserts, disc labels, and cartridge labels for over 4,000 games on 40 systems dating back as far as the eye can see." That 4,000 part is that part that's confusing me. Could someone clear this up for me, please?

Therer can be multiple covers for the same game....... Did you never see that? ::)
-
I never thought of that. I didn't think the PAL covers counted.

It's not just PAL and JPN covers, but multiple versions of the same cover, I mean there are 16 versions on Wii Sports alone.

or think about multiplatform games such as I dunno, Call of Duty Finest Hour. It came out for Gamecube Playstation 2 and Xbox. There's three covers for the same game on three different systems. Taking that into account, it's really not hard to see the distinction.
-
Okay, okay, I get it now.

The fact that we have covers for more than 4,000 games is what blows me away.
