Just uploaded the UK cover of Shenmue 2 but the link to it isn't working. It's shown as a thumbnail in the upload index but I get an error trying to access it.

I've put up quite a few decent raws, but no one seems to be working on finishing them up. I'll be putting up more later (I have 80+ Xbox games, I'm sure they're not ALL on the site yet), and maybe after I finish working on my PSOne cases I'll start working on the Xbox raws. That is, if they're still just sitting in the raws section by then...

As most of you have figures out, I uploaded some xbox covers.
Most are platinum versions of covers we already have.
I know that there is a problem with the thumb of PGR2. I already sent Snow a msg about it.

Painted out the horrible tag with "lightgun compatible" that was stuck on the front zombie's arm. Not sure if these should be tagged 'PAL UK' or just 'PAL'. Were there region specific versions for Europe?

Well, that version of HOTD3 was obviously sold in Scandinavian and Dutch markets at least... I think it tends to vary from game to game, but for the most part there's just one universal 'PAL' cover for all of Europe. As a general rule I think it should be fine to simply consider any European cover with English text only as the default 'PAL', and any potential variations of that can then be labeled with its region.

It's definitely worth getting. Think Splinter Cell set in the Middle Ages. I enjoyed it a lot.

These are all going from my shelves in there present form and it seemed a shame not to scan them. Just straight scans with the blemishes and folds cleaned up as much as i could.

You got Sniper Elite. Good find :)
Seems to be a very rare or a very popular game as everytime I check ebay.co.uk it's between £25 and £30 after shipping, which is quite a price for a used Xbox game.
I added some Xbox covers today, if you add yours we could call it the coverproject xbox festival :D

Sniper Elite is a great co-op if you have a patient partner. Sadly not online though. I saw you had posted a lot today, you have saved me a lot of scan and resize work so thanks for that. :) I have a lot of stuff to post but it might as well wait untill i get ftp access, i have been prepairing covers for a few days now ready for the off.

I have two weeks off from work so I'll be slowly working my way through the backlog. Should I hold off on adding your covers if I come across them? So you can learn the ropes of adding covers yourself as soon as you get ftp access? Some prefer starting the "admin-thing" with their own covers since they know they're up to par and ready for adding.
..or so they think ;)

If you have time, its probably best to post some of the other work from the uploads. I can always do my own when ftp is up for me and some of the other guys have been waiting ages.. BUT if you clear all the backlog (you deserve a medal if you manage that) and only mine are left, then go for it!! ;)

If you have the time clearing the backlog is not that big of a deal. Some time last year Tik and I cleared the backlog of 200+ covers within a week ;) Time is the biggest issue, if that's out of the way, it can be done. Depending on the quality of the uploaded covers of course and the time needed to process them.

I'll go on holidays in about 4 weeks and planned on cleaning the backlog then myself.... ;)
As far as I looked through some of the covers lately we got much sub par quality stuff upped at the moment... So maybe it will be a quick job....

JSRF - Jet Set Radio Future
I just managed to catch your JSRF covers (what?) the7k... AWESOME JOB.
JSRF is definitely one of the most best games of all time. Not many people have played/heard/remember this awesome game, despite the fact that it was a pack-in with the original Xbox - which is sad. This was post-Dreamcast Sega at their finest.
but then again, maybe I'm bias. ;)

Are you emulating Windows? Or have they finally ported the program over? I've been too busy to run bootcamp this week, but there are a few programs I need to have windows for, such as this.

No, I was using Bootcamp. I just don't like booting into Windows if I don't have to because all of my programs that I use on a regular basis (such as Photoshop) are on the Mac side.

I looked over you NFL Fever 2002 cover and it looks great. It only has some minor moire effect that can be cleaned quite easily. Instead of doing it myself i though i'd "teach a man to fish" instead. Are you using photoshop to clean up the images you scanned? If so it is a really easy fix to fix minor moire effect.
Simply go to the Filter => Noise => Despeckle (I would not recommend doing this more than 2 or 3 times though)
or
Filter => Blur => Glaussian Blur (select 1.0)
Those are the two easiest and fastest ways to fixing moire effect. Sorry it took me so long to check the quality of the cover scanned but I currently only have open range internet at my new place (somewhere between dial up and the lowest of high speed internet). Also, it is nice that your cover is in 800dpi but the final cover only needs to be 300dpi for the site. Look forward to seeing what other covers you make next! :)

Here is the cleaned up and scaled down version of the cover. I like scanning at a high resolution because it gives me more to work with, but I totally forgot to scale it down. That sure explains the file size difference. :)

Does anybody here have Call of Cthulhu? My case currently has one of the stupid Hollywood Video store custom covers on it, and it makes me sick. :'( I can provide a raw scan of the Hollywood Video cover if someone needs it, because the front cover is still the same as the retail game, it's just the spine and the back that need to be re-made from scratch.

This game is dirt cheap and I wasn't happy with the retail case so I whipped this up... I'm not sure how I feel about it though, so comments are appreciated.

I really like that cover. I prefer all the art to be on the front on these double packs, not on both sides. The spine is my favorite part. Nice and clean.

Exactly! Haha I like to think that the reason nobody even bothered playing it as a pack-in was because sega put a front on both sides.
And the spine, yeah - the retail was all over the place, SegaGT's logo was 30% bigger than JSRF's - gross.
I feel like a $300+ pricetag for a new system warrants an extra DVD case? But clearly, I'm wrong.
I'll put together a retail version as well, if anybody wants.

i was able to find a copy of this title w/ the cover (NTSC) but the top of the spine and a bit of the back/front near spine is jacked up. looks like someone's kid brother was teething...
anyways, should i post a scan of it?
i'm not yet too savy on editing pics....
does someone think they could clean it up?
also, the case has that holographic "official LotR" sticker on it. (like the official sports title one). should i post that too? it could be included in the final cover after it's been cleaned/repaired.

Your in the right direction here, but still have some work to do. Hte pointers below are purely constructive and am sure that with some practice you'll get the hang of cleaning up scans.
1. The cover is the wrong size. go with 3325x2156 at 300dpi
2. The cover looks kind of dull. Try using auto levels to add some brightness and contrast.
3. Some parts of the cover look a bit blurry wile others have nasty sharp edges and black pixelaion (specially around any white text and objects). Make sure you save the JPG at it top quality (level 12 if you are using photoshop)
4. Looks like you tried to removed the creases between the spine and front/back. If you are using Photoshop's auto correct, try using the tool at a smaller size, concentrate exactly on the crease and make a few passes until it is a seamless transition between sections of the cover.

sounds great to hear from a cover admin.
didn't have access to scanner software, but i know your'e right about the size, it's still @ 600 dpi (instead of 300), that was the max the scanner could do (at work ;)).
and in my opinion, the original cover does look a bit blurry too, it's weird, but id doesn't look like high quality, well maybe not blurry but grainy, not sure if that's the same thing.
it's saved at quality 12, so i think some of the stuff i can't fix due to the scanner limitations (no software).
the crease fixes are totally on me though, i still needa work on that. i'll use a smaller brush size.
can you point out some areas that are blurry? it may be the areas i applied brushwork.

okay, i've scanned way over two hundred xbox retail covers from my games and uploaded them to the 'emuxtras.net' ftp repository.
it was an ultra pain in the arse, and NOT something i'm repeating anytime soon.
1, i'm NO graphics editor, admin (wimpy) was 10000% fine with that and edited them himself.
2, as i understand it, the modified (clean/tidy) scans are on the synopsis area of the site. again, i have ZERO interest in that sort of thing.
3, i just supply and f*ckoff at my leisure, no place i'm loyal to, just the users. (assuming i'm that way inclined as time progresses?!)
4, to get the plain raw scans from the extras repository, you'll require credentials (ftp account-user directory/password) and to expedite that, showing provable 'can do/contributions' helps LOTS! ;D
...
so, if interested in a small stack of scans, wimpy at emuxtras.net is the man to call.
should you choose this, i'll say it here, as i do everywhere i share stuffs.
i want NO credit, or even acknowledgement, please keep me out if it, silent merit works best, and undermines the tools.

If you want I could convert the banners to Xbox regalia and replace the PS2 icons and legal text on the back with corresponding Xbox info. If you'd rather wait for someone with an original copy that's fine, this is just an option.

Just tried to upload custom Grand Theft Auto III & Vice City covers.

They are in the same style as the PS2 covers!
I remastered them using the high quality artworks from Rockstar's website and upscaled them, HQ PS2 Scans, used date specific Logos and Info, and cleaned them up as much as I could.
The previous covers look good but the colors are wrong, and have inaccuracies because they are custom BUT are labeled as the retail ones, the Vice City orange cover is the only retail one, because GTA 3 and Vice City for the Xbox came in a box and had very different unique covers to the PS2.
I think these covers should replace them and get properly labeled as custom!

I knew they were put as custom by accident or something.
Although the colors were a bit more saturated, they looked really vibrant when I printed them, especially the Vice City one!
