Will you take requests once you're done? Nice job.

if you give me a list of what you want (with raws too :) ) i could get a better idea how easy it would be.
if you give me a list of what you want (with raws too :) ) i could get a better idea how easy it would be.
Here's a list of what I'm looking for. There might be one or two more, but I think this covers it:
Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal
Marvel Super Heroes
Mortal Kombat Mythologies
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Power Rangers Time Force
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2 Enter Electro
Time Crisis
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Raws are up for all except the last one, which already has a DVD case...but being anal, I'm trying to get them all in one style :P

unrelated:
i have the link to my template in the first post
i'm going to be a little busy with Halloween, signing up for classes, homework and other cover projects i have committed to so it will take a while.
I'm looking for a custom DVD case cover for my copy of Final Fantasy Tactics, and I'm not satisfied with the two already uploaded. They're too plain, and one of them has a lame and poorly edited joke screenshot on the back. I'd really appreciate it (and I think everyone else would too) if someone could make a Playstation 1 DVD cover using the new PSP Lion War cover art instead of a lame plain white cover:
Looks like the Time Crisis series had awful cover artwork from the get-go :D
Nevertheless good work!
shenske would you mind to put the links please, i really enjoy alot your covers, keep the very professional work man, congrats
Shenske, your covers rock dude! I would love to see a "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" DVD cover... if possible.
Keep up the good work!
Hey shenske, just curious if you've been making any progress with these. Looking forward to seeing your covers on my shelves! :)
i'll work on the final fantasy covers over the weekened (if those were the covers you were implying, if not state the ones you want)

I meant the PS1 covers in general, just wanted to make sure the project is still alive :) I posted my requests earlier in the thread, but I'll post them again. Thanks!
Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal
Marvel Super Heroes
Mortal Kombat Mythologies
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Power Rangers Time Force
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2 Enter Electro
Time Crisis
X-Men: Children of the Atom
alright, i'll see what i can do.
i remember your request from earlier so i have three or so already started
i'll pick it back up again on saturday :)
edit: would you like custom covers or origianls from the scans?
(i like doing the custom ones, iron man would be fun ;) )
i couldn't resist the new movie's artwork ;D
i used the same style of the original logo just recreated it sharper.
i'll finish this one up probably after church tomorrow.
Ironman X-O Manowar - in heavy metal
tell me what you think
very nice, as always shenske.
I would appreciate it if someone answered my question about the Iron Man game. I'll ask it again: "Is this an actual game?" What i mean is, I've never heard of this game before.

Ah, okay. Thanks for answering my question. For some reason, you guys (and any girls out there) ignored it the first time I asked.

While we're on the topic of Mortal Kombat -- I forgot to add MK4 to my list of PS1 requests. Just throwing it out there ;)
i'll try and take care of that one soon.
i've got three separte art projects to start and finsh and an art history test to study for.
..... so it will take a little bit of time
tell me what you think ;D
Great work! How about MK2? It's rare as hell and was only released in Japan.
just Mortal Kombat Special Forces to go now then?
If you're buying them make sure you get the Kollector's Edition of Mortal Kombat Deception which has the arcade version of MK1 as bonus and the Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat Armageddon which has the arcade version of UMK3 as bonus. After that ask our friend Shenske politely if he could make a cutsom cover for UMK3 and you'll have the full set of all MK's released for PS1 and 2 ;)
Hey Shenske, just curious if you've uploaded your MK covers to the site yet. I'm assuming they're completed (they look it from the previews), just hoping to see the download links up soon ;)
actually i need to port some covers i made (haven't revealed them yet) to ps1 on a certain extremely popular series i really don't even like. ;)If you are still working on that, could you also do them with the vertical template, please? If so, Thanks. If not, no biggie.
(about 8 ish covers if that gives you any clues)
Good job as always. There's not much point telling you every time you make a cover how good it is. :)
I just noticed that on the vertical format of shenske's Playstation Greatest Hits template, he didn't put the "Greatest Hits" part in there. I'd understand if it was hard to convert the horizontal format to vertical for it, but without it, you can't tell that it's a "Greatest Hits" game.
Actually, I just realized this, but the Greatest Hits part for Playstation is a little different from the way you did it. If you want, I can upload a scan of how it looks.
Personally, I like the Vertical cover better.

Accurate, but still pretty horrible though! I thought we had it bad in the UK with the 'PLATINUM' releases, but that green is just wrong!!! ;)

GH on PS1 is ugly, but on PS2 it's a nice red that looks nice on a shelf with non GH. But there's one plus side to PS1 GH, besides cheaper prices, and that is it has Christmas colors! XD

So you're allowed to voice an opinion but i'm not? If you'll notice from the wink at the end it was a tongue in cheek comment - and also I was commenting on Sony's choice of colour for the GH collection, not the template - thought that was pretty obvious?!?!?!

Oh, and shenske, I noticed that on the vertical Greatest Hits template, instead of the Playstation logo, it has Greatest Hits instead. That's all I have to say about it. Oh, one more thing. The Greatest Hits color isn't bright green. It's more like a darker shade of green. I'm not nitpicking or anything. I just want to make sure that your template is accurate.
Nice Work Sheinske. Do you think you can do Resident Evil 2 Dualshock Version?
Also how would I fit say FF9 discs? Like, what is a good template DVD Case that holds 4 DVDs?

Oh, and welcome to the Project, by the way.
.........FF 7,8,9...........I know you don't like using that, but if someone requested it, you'd have to do it, right?
I have a few request if you think you could tackle them:
1Xtreme
Alundra 2
Ape Escape
Apocalypse
Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
Bottom Of The 9th
Bust-A-Move '99
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3
Crash Team Racing
Mega Man X4
Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1
Namco Museum Vol. 3
No One Can Stop Mr. Domino
Spyro the Dragon
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Tiny Tank
Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation
Williams' Arcade's Greatest Hits
I have CB2, CB3, and CTR. They are GH and collector's edition releases, but the art should be the same.

well ... ehh .... yeah i guess so ::)
(i don't have to but i will)
i could make some really easy they just wouldn't look like my Unofficial Dreamcast FF covers.
do you want covers like the dreamcast ones, logo on white background, or with art from each game?
there you go

the last MK cover to go ...
Mortal Kombat

Hey Shenske, if it's not too much trouble would you be able to do a vertical style of your Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions cover?
FF 7/8/9 2-CD 2keepcase's per game sets
Actually, after measuring it, it looks more like the front art would need to be moved to the left to be completely centered. Besides, I'm already using ever bit of the art I had; if I move it to the right, there will just be dead space beside Gremio.ugh, sorry, VERTICAL cover.
Wow that Breath of Fire IV (With American Logo) is Great thanks so much!
but the cover art on the Suikoden cover is horrifying! what's wrong with the main character?! he looks like he got his face pressed by a steam roller, Gremio and Victor look fine though ???
I am collecting art so i can get to work on covers for:
Megaman X4
Alundra 1
Grandia 1
Suikoden 1/2 covers
new Parasite eve 1/2 covers
Fear effect 1/2 covers 2-CD 2keepcase's per game sets
Wild Arms 2
Tales of Destiny 1 and 2
FF 7/8/9 2-CD 2keepcase's per game sets
By the way, Shenske, is there any chance that you might make a vertical version of the Final Fantasy Tactics cover? Of course, do it whenever ya wanna if ya wanna, it isn't necessary. It just something I think I'll be going for.
Told'ya I'd make 'em, even if nobody'll appreciate 'um! I don't like just slapping the rear cover from the CD onto the custom cases, but in this case, I think you'd understand. I ain't gonna learn how to type Japanese in one evening.
Don't know what I'll make next. I wanna make a Threads of Fate one, but I should probably wait until I've actually got it. I also just remembered that I have Darkstalkers, Mega Man X4 and X5 somewhere around, but I'm sure plenty of other folks have those on the brain.
Nah, I didn't mean it like that. It's just, they're Japanese games, and I doubt very many people actually have 'em.Well if your looking for "suggestions" from your list, I'd love to see more LoD covers ;)
Yeah, I kinda figured that I shouldn't worry about Mega Man. I'd rather try giving covers to games that aren't very likely to receive covers anyway. Less competition = more likelihood of people using my stuff =P
(*Pst!* Shenske... my FFT happens to be Green Label too. Just, throwing that out there...)
btw, deathred, I may be getting Heart of Darkness. It's on my list of games to grab, and I tend to go for complete packages (unless going for the disc alone saves me $70 like it did with Albert Odyssey on Saturn, but I doubt that will be the case.) I just have to wait 'til I have a decent wad of cash on me.
Shenske: Ah, that is most epic. Can't wait to see them uploaded to the site, I'll use them immediately. By the Way, the Green Label version says on the front it is rated Mature. Easy enough to fix after downloading, but I'd figure I'd let ya know.
The only issue I see with your Grumbleduke is that the SCUS should be above the NTSC on the spine.
Lovely! Might Play with the spine to match PAL ps2 stuff - but I can do that before I print it. Cheers matey!

Good idea that. Had a mess about with it and have a tester to see how it looks.
Theres a PS2 one in there for comparison. Question is do we go with the all black spine to let PS stand out a bit, or copy the classic PS2 design? Thers also PS2 style text or the fancy stuff from the U.S versions. Suggestions ?
So I finally finished my Brave Fencer Musashi Case thanks to getting a printer that could print in margins. I was fortunate to find a 2-disc clear case so I could put the images from the inside of the case in. I uploaded the cover awhile ago but it hasn't been put up yet. Oh well.
Good God, Shenske. This is amazing stuff.
I'll pay you any amount of money to come up with a DVD case for Legend of Mana. The only one floating around the internet today is some low quality thing from CAG.
The scans are hosted, but no one has put together a DVD case yet. It's a shame.

FYI: all the ps1 covers on this page are not made by me. If you were refering to some of the other covers i have made previously then thank you. I'll see what i can do about that Legend of Mana cover.
I think it's a great idea to create a Tales of Destiny and a Tales of Eternia (TOD 2 in the U.S.) PS1 DVD covers
I think i would retitle ps1 TOD2 to Tales of Eternia as to not get them mixed up; As there is a PS2 game that is a true sequel to TOD titled TOD2
I want to create new front covers for both of these games, the cover art on the original boxes is really substandard.
Although I do think the back covers on both games are fine I think if they are not stretched just copied and pasted and modified with new backgrounds they would look acceptable.
I would make both of their spines have a similar design, maybe something like the tales of the abyss spine just big lettering no graphic.
I think maybe we should use original art from the old namco websites to create like a montage of the main characters and the swordians on the cover more of a hand drawn look.
maybe from http://toddc.jp/ or http://namco-ch.net/talesofdestiny_ps2dc/index.php or http://tales.namco.com/destiny/
on Tales of eternia it should pretty much the same thing hand drawn elements except without swords

Does anybody know the best way to get to an inlay without ruining the case? I just got Rhapsody and would like to make a cover from the second disc's inlay, but the last thing I wanna do is ruin the case.
the7k i own both Tales 1 and 2 for ps1 but neither have any good cover art in the manuals or in the inlays, the backs are fine though, I think there are scans of them here somewhere though.
Grandia though has a very good inlay that could be used for a cover art.

Just a question to all the cover-holics out there; how would you like the demo covers to look when I finally get around to them? While the PlayStation Underground discs had very clear packaging, the Official PlayStation Magazine discs did not, which will be the majority of the discs anyway. I know some people prefer the most prominent demo to be the focus of the cover, but I was kinda thinking of making the cover reflect the theme of the disc. For example, the first few OPM discs had a space adventure theme to them, the second batch had a dystopian future feel to them, etc.
This is my second ever cover so be gentle, PAL Tomb Raider 2, I hope to add a whole bunch of PAL covers to this mostly NTSC site. ;D

awesome cover! If only the GCON worked on plasma/lcd tv's. Hopefully the Wii will see a re-release..............
Those are awesome Grumble, thanks so much.
Awesome work, Grumble. These covers make me wish I had more PS1 games. I printed off the custom cover for Tekken 3, by the way. You really did a good job with that custom back cover.
I'm not trying to complain, but I am curious though, why did you choose to do a white PlayStation logo on the spine for the Marvel Super Heroes horizontal instead of your regular black? Using this page of this thread as a metric, all of your covers have a black logo except the one marvel horizontal above. I typically modify black PS logos on covers since I've only ever seen them on the Greatest Hits version of PlayStation games, and I don't really like or see many greatest hits covers...
Love the Marvel cover Grumble.. Can I get a RAW of the front to make a Saturn version of it?
<Snip>
As you can see, this particular art lends itself better to the vertical style of case, had to slice up Wolverine to keep aspect something like right for the horizontal one.
...and horizontal.
Had a good mess around with the horizontal version so we did'nt have to lose so much to keep the aspect.

Looks great, thanks! I few minor nitpicks on the horizontal -- if they're easy to fix, great, if not, no big deal -- :
1) The front ESRB says "Mature", but the back lists "Everyone"
2) On the spine, the Playstation logo is black and missing the white rectangle that appears on your MSH cover -- any chance this can be adjusted to match that one?
Again -- definitely appreciate the covers! :D
EDIT: Just saw the posts between you and Xander -- I personally prefer the white logo, so is there a chance you could post the covers that way, as well? Or perhaps just e-mail me a copy before it gets altered? :)
@PR Mega X
Hope that all ok. :)
i know most won't give a rats chuff about these - but i had them, and wanted to put them with my PS2 games................

What no Pro Evo? ;) They look pretty nice, im working through my own PS collection this week, hence a lot of PS covers. However, all my CD/DVD stuff is going into 9mm DVD cases...i need the space!!Can you elaborate? I'm interested in how people case their media. Are you just slimming down movies and music, or games too?
Well,my goal eventually would be to have everything i have in my collection out on display. However i simply dont have the room to do this so in order to make space, all DVD case based games are/will be converted to the 9mm covers which effectively halves the space each one needs. I also want to case DC/PS1/Mega CD/NEO GEO CD/3DO/CD32/CDI and PC Engine CD in the same way. So basically, all Discs in 9mm boxes, all carts in UGC (except Megadrive and Master System)and one shelf for outsize stuff or NEO GEO carts as they are the only outsize cases i intend to have left. All the original cases and boxes are packed away in the loft. Trouble is i keep buying more stuff so it could be a never ending task. ;D

What's going on grumble? I missing you in the ugc section..... :'(
Great covers nonetheless.....
T.Y :) Im creating space on my Playstation shelf by getting rid of the those thick boxes the games come in for 9mm DVD ones. Been doing the same for XBox but have'nt posted those yet. As for the UGC's , in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger..."I'll Be Back." ;D

Well, I've won the auctions for both Mutant Academy games that I mentioned a few posts back, so I'm hoping to see NTSC versions of your covers before you defect back to the UGC side ;D
X-Men : Mutant Academy 2 (U.S/NTSC/horizontal)
Taken from Sheeps PAL scan and messed with so as to get 'more X-Men' showing (check the previous page for a comparison). Vertical version was not fun for this particular cover. Hope these are ok for you PR Mega X. :)
I will take a look a,s.a.p. My Router/Modem went down at home( >:( ) and i cant replace it untill the weekend, otherwise i would have posted the X-men covers and the Resident Evil Survivor ones i have done.Oh well...roll on Saturday!!!
PAL Please ;D
Nice cover - nicer than the Ofificial PAL one. I can up the back if required...................
Resident Evil Survivor (U.S/NTSC/horizontal)
This is super offtopic. ha. But I never really could find PS2 cover artist and this is essentially the same thing.
But can some one fix this one for me?

Its PAL, but I would like it to be NTSC but it really doesn't matter, I just need the scan.
Please! ;D
And if there is a PS2 cover thread feel to re-direct this post to that one. Sorry!!!
Gran Turismo (U.S/NTSC/horizontal)Thanks a bunch! (even though I didn't request it)

Noticed that there is allready an NTSC DVD cover on the site B.T.W.
Oh man, thanks so much. Awesome work, and again, very much appreciated.
Edit:Quote from: GrumbledukeNoticed that there is allready an NTSC DVD cover on the site B.T.W.
The cover doesn't really follow any sort of standard, it looks like it's a fairly old one without any consistency to some of the new templates.
They look nice....
T.Y :). Im defecting back to UGC's next.Working on some Coleco covers.

I have GT2 if you need raws.
I'm not really interested in making vertical PS1 games and I don't think that I'll be making that many of them. This one is made by request.
PS: I also fixed a couple of things in the back of the standard version.
One small error in the cover: "Square Soft s stunning shooter" the apostrophe is missing...
This is present in your horizontal version as well.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not saying that I hate vertical for the way it looks. After all, look at all my templates (SCD, SAT, 3DO)... They are all vertical.
But in the case of PS1 (were most of the games come in square CD cases), the top logo template works better. You can fit a lot more of the original cover into the, and it matches the PS2 cases.
Yeah the third soulblade is the best, you're making some great covers! very detailed!
The Ridge racer covers are great! You've been very busy!
Almost all my ps1 games have DVD covers now, the only ones i have left that need covers are:
Grandia
Eternal Eyes
Wild arms 2
Tales of destiny I,II
Alundra 1
Koudelka
Gundam Battle assault I,II
Megaman X4
Fear Effect 1,2
and Tetris Plus
Suikoden I,II (I haven't found good DVD versions that matches the 3-5 retail cases)

What's wrong with those? I use the second one.
Not bad on the Soul Reaver covers. Do you plan to do a NTSC version?
I can see Blast Chamber on e-bay for around a fiver - more than i'd usually pay for a PS1 title - would you say it was worth it?
Oh wow, nice Soul Blade covers. Can you try your hand at a vertical NTSC cover, by chance? I had asked Shenske to convert his current cover but since you've got the assets already there...
This should match your other ones better~

Wow, there is some amazing work going on in here! Any chance one of you fellows could whip up an NTSC US Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete cover? All other attempts at request topics have failed. Thanks!
I was in the mood today so I finished these up:

Never had you down as SpongeBob fan Sheep...im more into Anna Kournikova myself (chance would be a fine thing) :P. Good stuff B.T.W.

I'm also a fan. There's something about recasing an entire series of games with a consistent style that has a huge impact. Any chance or plans on the vertical PS1 version for SH1, or no?
any chance you could type up the rear text from the alundra case?

Awesome work!
Typo on Driver 2 - Doge should be Dodge, and Gamin on Rainbow 6 should be Gaming.
no worries - any ambition for army men in PAL? ;D
as always shenske, very nice work. those covers make me want to change over my ps1 games to dvd cases. any thought to widening the spines to fit bigger multidisc cases? that way there is the option of standard dvd size or multidisc.

No need really. They make 4-disc standard size DVD cases. I have several at home in fact.
fantastic as always on FFVI shenske. The text on the back of the box doesn't seem to make much sense though, and is actually pretty contradictory to what's stated in-game.

oh i forgot a word in my first sentence. as far as the text goes i just copied what was on another cover that is already on the site.
i don't know a whole lot about the game, i don't like the FF series.
If you can think of 2-3 sentences that are better suited than the ones i am using please let me know.

Since it seems more PS1 requests get answered in this thread, than in the request section...
Anychance someone feels like making a Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete cover, as well as a Arc The Lad (Complete Collection --- it's 6 discs, so a 28mm spine or 2 standard cases) --- Scans should be uploaded on the site for both, but if not I can re-scan and re-upload.
Only 2 titles left in my collection
NTSC please, and at this point whatever's easiest for you in terms of Horiztonal/Vertical.Since it seems more PS1 requests get answered in this thread, than in the request section...

I like those Lunar 2 covers you did. Vt102. Do you think you could do a vertical version of it? I don't have the game, by the way, but I would like the cover in case I ever find it.

OK.. so you want 1 case for every disc? so 5 cases total? With a spine art that would conect them and make it a set?
Am I correct in this?
Power Rangers Time Force (NTSC/U.S/Horizontal)

Ok...fixed up the scratches on the back. As for the web address and SLUS bit, they are the same as the other ones i have done from your list, but i can change it if you want. :). And it would seem a shame not to do the last of your PS titles so i started on that but give me a couple of days to finish it...got 5 covers all about 50% done (mostly Atari 2600 but yours is one of them) and want to get them all done over the weekend.

I think we have enough variations as it is, but upload them to where you upload the rest of your covers not on TCP. (sendspace, right?)
gonna get to the rest of the FF ones eventually? It'd seem odd to stop with half of them uncovered.
Are you planning on tackling the ps2 ones as well? Or are you just not going to worry about them?gonna get to the rest of the FF ones eventually? It'd seem odd to stop with half of them uncovered.
i'll get to the rest of the PS1 FF's but i figured that i'd upload what i have done so far.

You guys might notice that there is a lot of PS1 games missing from the upload section.
I just wanted to let you know that they are being processed in order to be added to the site. I'll take me a few days as there are about 250 PS1 and Saturn covers im looking at.
They'll be uploaded in batches so be patient.
Thank you all :)

Yeah, I was thinking these seemed a bit bland in comparison. I mostly did this out of boredom, probably won't even upload these. If anyone really wants them, they can PM me I suppose.

I also added my PS1 covers that were pending (lunar, arc etc... etc..)
I also added these that were not previously posted.

Uhh, not sure if you are taking requests but can you do 2 covers for me?
I'd like the PS banner on the side not the top.
Final Fantasy IX. A cover for disc 1-2 and a cover for discs 3-4
I need it like this because I can only fit 2 discs in one DVD case D:.
Thankies.

Nice, thanks Vt. I know the vertical doesn't always present a nice situation, but you made it look great. The original cover lends itself better than the manual scan, so I'll probably use that one. Thanks again for the vertical, it's much appreciated.

I was starting to mod the cover and then I realized that you wanted Vertical not Horizontal.
I'm afraid that I can't mod it that way without the original layered PSD image and it is unlikely that Shenske (the original artist) will do it as he has now partially left the cover project.
Hopefully another person can mod the cover for you. Sorry
Here's another RPG

PS1 demo disc done in the style of UK's PS3 demo discs.
I'll be making more eventually. I have a huge amount of OPM demo discs, it's just a matter of finding where they are. #10 was just the earliest one I could find, plus it's a pretty nice one. Gran Turismo, Tomba and Granstream Saga? Not a bad collection.Do you have the Pizza Hut demos? I have no idea what type of case they came in, as I don't have a case for them. I would appreciate even raw scans due to its obscurity.
Wasn't Final Fantasy 5 released along with FF6 in FF Anthology?
Oh, and when you have the time, shenske, you should do a vertical version of the FF5 cover, for the sake of completion. And I have an idea for the rest of your covers that are like this that are vertical. You should try overlapping the picture onto the black label for the front and spine and see how that looks.
The Final Fantasy 1 & 2 cover looks great. The only problem I have with it is that the left pic (the one for Final Fantasy) looks a little blurry.

Well Innocent Sin finally had a fan translation completed, Vicman had requested a cover for it. If you did that it'd save me a bit of work :P
I don't want to sound rude, but what is it with people requesting the horizontal Playstation template for said games? I mean, I have no problems with it, but it looks too much like the PS2 template, only with the 2 removed from the Playstation logo at the top.
Those are probably the two biggest reasons I prefer the Horizontal over the vertical style.I don't want to sound rude, but what is it with people requesting the horizontal Playstation template for said games? I mean, I have no problems with it, but it looks too much like the PS2 template, only with the 2 removed from the Playstation logo at the top.
Parity I guess.. This way you can have PS and PS2 games side by side and they would look similar.
I personally like the horizontal a lot better than vertical cuz it fits the original (CD CASE) art a lot better.
Actually, the CD case art for the PS1 games weren't horizontal, but vertical. Even you should've known that.

Yes.. true that the original covers have the playstation name in a vertical form, but the art itself when transplanted to a DVD case, fits a lot better in horizontal form.
Even so, I still like my covers to be vertical. That way, they stand out from my other games. I'm sorry if you guys don't like it, but you'll just have to live with it. Either like it or lump it, or something like that.

I wanted to ask before I did this: would anyone be upset if I were to convert SMMM's Mega Man Legends covers to the vertical format? I'm aware that he hasn't posted in a very long time, so I couldn't exactly ask him.
I'd of course credit him when I submit it.
looks like the filenames were swapped ;)

Any chance someone would be willing to make some covers for Saga Frontier and Saga Frontier 2? After my latest round of printing (thanks vt!) I realized the spine quality on those 2 covers was quite poor compared to the rest of the covers I'd gotten from this site.
If nobody wants to, I can live with what I have currently but it never hurts to ask (Oh, and I'd be fine with either style)
The background color is much more smooth in a rectangle around the text (probably to cover up the old text) than it is towards the bottom of the text box (where there was no text to cover up). I'd say its photoshopped, but it is some pretty convincing work at first glance. ;)

Vt, alot of the covers you uploaded on 11/15th for the PS1 have errors in the fine print. Atlus games all reference March of the Black Queen, Capcom games reference Resident Evil, and there's some misspellings in the Square games and "n-Space" in the Dangel Girl cover fine print.

The Strider Hiryu cover looks fantastic. Shouldn't there be a Capcom logo somewhere on the spine, though? An extremely minor crit though, as it looks awesome nonetheless.
RockinX I really like your Rockman Dash 2 cover as well! The spine looks a little funny with the vertical text but overall it's great.
Hey Grumble -- seeing you back in the PS1 cover thread, you know I have to ask: any progress on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue? ;D Thanks!

Wow...i forgot about that. Did the horiz version ages ago but never finished the vert cos' fitting it to the template was a pig.
Its a touch dull on the back but faithful to the original jewel version. If you like it as is, i will post it up. Could try some custom but info for the game is pretty scant. Let me know. :)

Dammit, you are good! ;D Seriously, I can't thank you enough for your help. My PS1 collection is completely covered now, thanks a ton :)
do we get to see some photo's?
Shenske, those covers are AMAZING!Thankyou
Two things though. You're not entirely done, at least I hope you won't be. You should do covers for Tactics, and Vagrant Story (seeing as they're both in the world of FFXII) And if you want to get real FF crazy, do Ehrgeiz, and matching PS2 covers for X, X-2, XI, XII and FFVII DoC.Haha . . . ehh I'm done.
And second, the cover for FFVII seems kinda odd being that the logo you used is the one for Advent Children.
Ok.. here ya go!...Sweet! Thanks for the cover VT. Now all my persona's, 1, 2:IS, 2:EP, 3:FES, & 4, can be aligned together! 8)
Added the English text , but kept the JP UPC, Product ID and NTSC-J. Being that the game was never released in the US, we will have to identify it as another JP version once it is added to the site.

I also uploaded this oneLOL. I remember buying that piece of crap. And many years later uploading the raws and phailing to convert it to DVD. :-[ I'm not much of a guru. :o

Way too low Resolution on those phiberosmosis. Best Raw scans to work with are 600dpi... Those scans you posted are only 96dpi
I up'ed them here. I scanned using 600 DPI maybe it is photocucket that is bringing down the DPI.
Will these work?
What software do you recomend???
That is so amazing. You whipped it like it was nothing. ANy help on Croc 2? I can scan the cover art for it.Here's a link to Croc 1...if you can get a better set of scans up for 2, i will do that as well. I have a couple but they aint that great so persevere with you scanning. ;)
will the scan at(Edited link to work)

Qustions:
1. What model scanner do you have?
2. What software are you using to scan it? (software that came with the scanner or something else?)
3. After you scanned it, did you just upload the raw scan or did you use any type of software to convert/resize/rename the scan before uploading it?
(The reason I ask is some software resizes to 200 dpi automatically when you save the file)

That Threads of Fate ciover looks pretty good. The only issue I'd worry about is looking too faded when printed out. Is there no way to make the background art just a bit more vibrant?
So, thanks for nagging me, because I'm very pleased with the results of it. However, please no more because I hate reposting the same covers over and over and over again. Here's "take 3," the final one for Threads of Fate.
Shenske is indeed talented. :)
And, no, they are not lost. *points to links on the left side of the page* *points to search bar at the top of the page*
The covers just get shown off here, most of them (if not all) are uploaded to the site and can be found along with the retail covers. If it qualifies as "old" then it's likely on the site already.

Thanks for the feedback! ;D
Here are three more that I've done, though I'm not sure how well they'll be received. I opted for a white top/spine, as it is more true to the originals. I'll wait to upload these to the site to see what you all think. ;)
Yeah definitely like the white bar idea, I'd like to see that from some of the older 3-packs. Definitely want to keep the black bar alternative though.I've yet to see any usable high res art. Also, the CB 3 pack only had one CB game, the other two were Crash Bash and Crash Team Racing.
Speaking of, why hasn't this site seen the crash bandicoot/spyro series yet? Those both came in 3-packs too and that would be something to consider.
I pawned off my copies of all three Spyro games to GameStop. I don't even remember what I got with the credit... However, I do have CB2, (GH) CB3, (Collector's Edition) CTR, (Collector's Edition and two GH lol) and CB (Collector's Edition and maybe GH?) Odd, the only PS1 CB game I don't have is Crash Bandicoot.
Since the PS1 was the first widespread disc based console, we handled our games badly and needed multiple copies. :-[
Why is enough spelled incorrectly?
OOHHH CRAP!:)
That's what I get for copying form the net!
Nice covers everyone.
Vt, any chance for vertical style of your recent Capcom covers you've done?
Does anyone have a scan of the offical sony playstation hologram sticker that was put on the cases?
how do you guys take the raw scan and fit it on a dvd cover, scaling the image for me wont work cos usually there is some stuff in the way eg company logos/ ratings that get cut in half when thats done? any help on how to turn a raw square pal ps1 cover (black bar on the bottom) into a dvd cover? im looking at making mine pal dvd covers since they are all that region but it duno how to do it :(If it were as simple as enlarging it to fit a DVD case, we would probably be done with the PS1 cases. Many covers don't scale well, so the procedures used vary a lot. Some covers do scale well, so for something like the front of Crash Bandicoot 2, all I had to do was scale it, center it, and move + recreate the logos that were at the bottom.
Been playing round with my Klonoa Door To Phantomile scan, i cut a bit of stuff here and there, cut out the barcode and sony legal jibberish from the black bar on the side,
May I sugest something?
Since the PS1 DVD project is geared to match the PS2 DVD covers.. You might want to use the US PS logo on the spine of crash bandicoot. The US PS logo has a white backgroung..

I agree, all of my PS1 DVD covers have the white square on the spine aswell. Its just different color background for PAL and NTSC.
I had no idea Pacland was released on one of those. I have wanted a home version of that game for YEARS!!!
I almost bought namco museum 1-4 a few weeks ago, but it was quite a high price, and i left it in the end. Gaaaahhhh!
yeah - had the speccy version way back when..... I think the only other decent one is TG16, and unfortunately i don't have one. Am going to track down this version now though!

Well, I understand the desire for it to be official an' all.
Still, the original Ehrgeiz cover... left a lot to be desired.

XBLA
Galaga Legions, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Mr Driller Online, Pac-Man, Galaga, Xevious, New Ralley X,Dig Dug and Ms Pac-Man
This disc is worth the price for just these games since they're the classics and remakes that are really good of the classics. Each game is worth a total of 200 achievement points for a total of 1800 possible max points.
Museum Classics
Baraduke, Bosconian, Dig Dug II, Dig Dug Arrangement, Dragon Buster, Dragon Spirt, Galaga '88, Galaga Arrangement, Galaxian, Grobda, King & Ballon, Mappy, Metro-Cross, Motos, Pac & Pal, Pac-Man Arrangement, Pac-Mania, Pole Position, Pole Position II, Rally X, Rolling Thunder, Sky Kid, Sky Kid Deluxe, Super Pac-Man, and The Tower of Druaga.
but no pac-land................but i still might need to get it..........haha - even if it's just for rolling thunder
That's a cool custom cover. Would you mind making an Alien 3 cover for SNES with that artwork? (in Shenske's vertical template? )
The second Wild 9 cover is great. Was that the retail art in the UK or is that a custom cover? Looks really cool. Damn, I loved that game, too bad nobody else bought it :)
since grum took care of the other 2 - couldn't leave this one sitting on a different shelf:

How long have you been making covers? Based on your posts, I'd think you are just starting out - but based on your output, it looks like you've been doing this for years!
What I would do (for Paint.NET, but the principles should be the same)
Create new layer
Make a white rectangle under the text
Layer properties
Opacity: 75-175/255
or
Layer the character art is on:
Opacity: 75-175/255
I'd prefer the first option because it's consistent with the text.
Just getting started on a Mega Man Legends Trilogy set. I'll be doing a vert and horz case for every entry, as well as a 'compilation' case.
Here's the so far - let me know what you guys think needs to stay or needs to go.
the7k: Those Legends covers are fantastic! Makes me want to track them down even more now!
Why is Roll on the first spine, while Mega Man is on the second, though? It's hardly a big deal, and I could easily change it myself if need be, but it just seems like a strange design decision.
Matrix: Those small adjustments make the Mega Man covers look much, much better. The Star Ocean 2 covers look pretty nice as well.
Was that X-Ray picture your idea or is it the JP retail or something? It's a pretty cool cover. Great work!
Was Einhänder ever released as part of a PS1 demo disc? I vaguely remember a shump that seemed really cool through a demo disc twelve or so years ago.

I'm almost 100% sure it was.. I remember playing a 1st level demo but I'm not sure if it came with my Plantation, or if I got it from PSM.
There's just something strangely appealing about Mr. Ben's minimalist front covers...
I really like the minimalist approach. I don't think it loses its effect either. It's just a little hit and miss. When you have an all-white frontcover it brings much attention to the front artwork, which can make it very hard to choose the right image. But it's also a matter of personal taste I guess and other users might disagree with me.
Personally I really like your Abe's Oddysee, Dragon Valor, Worms, Bushido Blade and Jade Cocoon covers. They just click with me. I don't know exactly what it is but I think they're great. Although I think there are far better dragon images to use than the one on Dragon Valor but that is just lamenting on a high level :) All in all these covers are very good work!
On the other hand I think the frontcovers for Tales of Destiny 2, Vandal Hearts, Worms Armageddon and the Alundra games are very bland and very generic. Apart from Worms Armageddon there's so much artwork to be found on the net for these games for some really awesome covers. Right now they look very unspectacular and exchangable.
I'm not slamming your work Mr. Ben. You've put time and effort into this and I do appreciate it. I just wanted to give you some feedback which you can ignore or take into consideration on your future covers.
i appreciate the feedback, and i'll try and keep them a little neater next time. Sorry to have spammed the thread somewhat :-[
Since now I have changed over to the Dark Side and am going vertical, here are my new Star Ocean 2 covers. Enjoy! You'll still be making horizontal covers though, right? :(

Some Great stuff lately the7K!, was there ever a new Wild Arms 2 cover made?
this is my first attempt
ok, so im assuming my wild arms 2 cover got rejected, im just wondering if i can get some insight about why. im pretty far along on the rest of the sereis, and i'd love to get all 6 of them uploaded. so let me know what i can do to fix this one and ill be sure to avoid such mistakes in the future.

Nah, I'm guessing it was just taken down to be examined. It can be a surprisingly lengthy process. In my experience your errors need to be pretty glaring for them to not add it to the site, so don't worry.

Seems like someone wants to start a fight with the quality control department here. ;D
EDIT: From you post I assume you have no idea how time-consuming the quality control is when you take it seriously right?
it was actually a filter to make it look like it was printed on canvas, i hit the filter by accident when working and kinda fell in love with it, but never added it to the first one cause it was already flattened/merged together.
so that weird look is intentional, and i kinda figured thats why it didnt go up.
so ball is in your court on this one, if you think so i can remove it, and refrain from using it on the rest of my wild arms covers.
(i looks alot more canvasy printed than on the computer screen)
Ah, dang, I really like that Suikoden cover, (I was working on the same thing but with a white background like in Suikoden II), but I got 404'ed. Mind re-upping it?
EDIT: Oh wait, I see why that one was taken down: the ratings don't match. It should say K-A on both the front and back. Can't read the legal text to verify tho.
I often see the true meaning behind peoples oh so friendly meant comments (or I believe to at least). This is called a "persecution complex". I've seen you do this before, you may think you're "reading between the lines" and being clever but ultimately you're just attacking people unprovoked and making yourself look like a jerk. People aren't out to get you, it's best if you get over that.
Sometimes it's the "scizophrenia" but only sometimes.
I'm sorry if you truly meant no harm but otherwise I stand for what I say!
...By the way in 90% of the cases stuff is rejected beacue it was either
from low res bad sources(blurry, pixelated, moire effect, stretched, etc.)
wrong dimensions
wrong legal text and barcode
Non existent(homebrew,etc.)

Hmmmm.... His black Suikoden cover wasn't rejected....
Look: http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=10605
That is kind of funny though. I look so hard for tiny stuff like scatches, not black enough blacks and dust and stuff BUT I didn't see that the ratings don't match... Oh well. Maybe I'm getting old....
EDIT:
I fixed this myself. Rating and product number on the front are the right ones now.
Hmmm... That new Spyro cover looks awfully familiar... Namely the backside...

Well, from what I gather, all he did was convert the NTSC cover on the site to PAL, so yeah, the front and back should look very familiar.

When all thats changed is some legal info to "switch" it to another region i think that the original artist's name should be on the cover. When I find some time I'll switch the artist name from Alex Philip to M47R1X because i too think that is unfair. Same thing with all the new Dreamcast covers that were submitted by Raven1280, they will be switched Lumberjack42. The only thing that was changed was spine color.
Why not make the name something like

We thought about that but ultimately it was decided by all admins that double names would make the artists databse to big and cluttered.
I was talking with tiktektak back and forth about some SNES covers I did for KaiserWAVE and that's when I threw those in. I told him they were conversions, but I guess I forgot to mention that in the forums. That was a long-ass time ago when I had first started all this biz (bout a month in to the whole deal) and didn't expect them to get posted as they would have had to start a whole new style of slimline DVD covers for the Sega CD, but apparently they did. It started for me as a way to get ALL of my games in one unified template that looked really good (Vt-102's slim template) and to get a good Dark Wizard cover (did that one ever get fixed?). I am glad that someone can use them (I had converted alot more for my personal collection, as no Sega CD manuals would fit in a standard DVD case anyway). Crap man, if I had known they would be posted then I would have thanked you at the proper time. But alas, late is better than never. THANK YOU for your work on the Sega CD covers and yes, all were modified. Damn, that was almost a year ago. When did those go up? I had done this with Saturn too, but I never uploaded them. A slim template instead of a standard template, but not MookyJooky's. I feel his is best for the J-Saturn games. Probably won't anytime soon.
EDIT: By the way, as far as I can remember, unless it was an SNES conversion for KaiserWAVE then I don't believe I have done any other conversions. It is a smidge different though, as the Sega CD ones are from scans where the Spyro cover was "hand-crafted." But nonetheless, credit is due.nvm, douche statement.
EDIT 2: I went carreening through my PMs and found what I think was the conversation, but I guess our outboxes clear themselves out every now and then so I can't confirm. But it was definitely either Shenske or tiktektak. July of last year. I started in mid-June, so this was a beginner f%$^-up. As you can probably tell, this is really rattling me because here I am going off and then something that I did a long time ago bites me in the butt that I wasn't entirely aware of. And I try to be the nicest, most giving guy around, but I tend to f^&* things up alot. Not just at my own house apparently either. THANKS AGAIN Vt-102 for your awesome work on the under-appreciated Sega consoles. While I'm at it, I did some Parasite Eve covers (I did all the scans and all, don't worry, I wanted to make it "mine") for the vertical version, but I went ahead and threw out a horizontal version as well which looked a helluvalot like the one already on the site (which I believe was yours... poo). I did the work and I mentioned that bit in this thread, but still, if it passes QA it might be an issue. So if you don't hate me by now Vt-102, I'll just sit here and shut up about any of this. If you want to pull those Sega CD covers then by all means be my guest. Or (and I'm very serious about it here) change the names of those covers to Vt-102. Whoever can do that. I think it'll make everybody happy.

where did you get that art?
You should try making vertical versions of your covers as well, for those who would want them that way.

Is there something wrong with this cover that's preventing it from being used? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? I really want to work toward being a quality contributor. I love this site; It's so clean and organized. Thanks!

Nope, the cover looks great. It just takes some time for the covers to be added to the site. I would go into greater detail but i've said the process many times before ... to sum it up it just takes a while.
@Jonesat
Spine text/logos for Beast Wars, Beyblade, Reboot and Wild Arms 2 vary from blurry to extremely blurry.
There are akward black lines next to some of the spines for Dragon Seeds, Worms and a weird white line on the spine for Reboot.
Also, where did you get your scans? Some of the scans have some pixelation problems, blurry and moire effect.
Sorry to be so picky but thats the quality rules of TCP
You know shenske this is exactly why I do not bother to explain the reasons to everyone why their covers got rejected..
It just leads to discussions which are unnecessary.
As shenkse said we got strict quality restrictions on our site. Even though there are covers on here from a long time ago which are sub-par this doesn't mean we would ever host sth like those again.
So there are two options.
Be grateful that shenkse invests his time to tell you what should be redone to get the covers accepted.
Leave them as they are and those covers will be rejected.
Got it? ::)

Got it? ::)

Here's an idea, how about we aren't rude to contributors?
A couple new ones I've been working on:

If I remember right, he left after something happened which caused him to lose all of his works in progress or something, and didn't want to start up again after that.
Very good job on the PS1 covers rowie4life! Just one question though; what is going on with you gray PlayStation top and spine banners? The gray was intended to be used with the "PSone" branding and the black with the "PlayStation" branding. Keep up the good work!I assume its to match up with the "platinum hits" line in PAL territories

Also, I forgot to give you credit for the great template, sorry about that.
Wow those are some awesome covers! Could I possibly get a US version of both those Oddworld covers? Thanks man. They're not the best, but they're the best I can do with my limited skills. I'm making these covers for me and I live in the UK so I deleted all of the US parts of the PS1 template. Also I'm a lazy f*cker. I'm sure it won't take to much effort to make the US version for yourself once I can upload these.

welcome back Grum - where you been?
Here are some that I made a while back..
I am currently working on a Final Fantasy VIII cover.

Is anyone making PS1 cover art to put in PS3 style cases? I see the DVD style cases in this thread but couldn't find any PS1 > PS3 conversions.
I thought about it briefly but ultimately decided not to since the cases aren't as easy to come by as dvd cases. Plus I didnt want to reconvert what I've already been working on. I think the DVD cases look better anyway :D
One of the many comments that come through for the megaman covers badchad is first of all, very very nice. But can you make a matching spine for X6? Seems a lil out of place
Perfect. Thanks shenske. I thought it looked out of place too but couldnt find a good enough logo to use since the edges are cut off on the actual retail cover.
I didnt really know where els to post this and I wasnt going to open a new thread to ask so Ill just post it here.
@tiktektak - Im not sure if everything from the queue has been cleared out yet but out of everyhting I submitted the only covers I havent noticed approved yet are my Alunda 2 and Mega Man X6 cover for PS1 and Dungeons & Dragons Collection for the saturn. If for whatever they didnt get approved Id like to know what the issue was so I can fix it and get those covers up. Thanks!
Could you possibly provide some scans of the original cases / manuals?
and if it is possible, I love this wildarms cover http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?game_id=1252 but all my cases have the horizontal playstation not the vertical, is it possible to flip it?
I see some floating around here and there in 3d models, and either they are never uploaded or were removed or something I just never can seem to find them :(
I couldnt say, but Id imagine the longboxes would be considered less valuable. I can certainly say if I had the choice between the two, Id definetly take a jewel case over one of those horrible longboxes anyway! Plus from a collecting standpoint, their ugly as shit! ;)

I quite agree. Thay sit right away in the top corner of my shelving along with the Sega CD/Mega CD (90% of the PAL MCD games are in double jewel cases...also ugly) EA Saturn games (they had to be different..big and horrible)and the humungous 3DO longboxes (another 90% stat here).

As soon as uplaods are up and running! ;)
A good idea by the way to mark shitty covers as garbage / low resolution. This way you can see at first glance what is unusable and should be replaced.oh geez the number of game boy ones isn't even funny

I've been updating all my early SCD covers.. Back then I sucked!
make some retail covers ffs, seriously lol. Make them in jewel cases. /Rage
Tik, time to get back on the ball!!
72 or 150 if i believe...wasnt sure how to fix it.
K now i am working on a new cover...Kartia: The World of Fate. I have scanned the covers using your advice and reading the scanning guide. I was wondering the proper place to post them so that they can be check to see if i did a proper job?
The text on the spine is upside down. ;)
I think it looks good, however it is extremely bright. Its definitely not dark enough IMO, which leads to possibly bad quality scans leading to an unacceptable cover, but again, just saying
same post as in the ps2 cover thread, but this time with a ps1 cover
(http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h253/pneboy/spyro.jpg)
i couldnt find a large insomniac games original logo, but something tells me that some ps1 cases are gonna be a pain to convert since some of the covers i tried converting got covered by all the specs
3) this leads to that you want to re-case PS2 games to match, and PS2 manuals won't fit.
Come to think, your 1) is partially flawed assumption. They are actually easier to buy than poly cases, least in europe I can point you in exact web-site to buy from, they should ship to outside of Europe aswell, altough it will cost pretty penny.
....though none of the covers on the site are made to fit PS3 cases...it seems, but BD sized ones...I could be wrong.
....though none of the covers on the site are made to fit PS3 cases...it seems, but BD sized ones...I could be wrong.
I think you're right, but the converion should be easy.
Just have to make wider spine, rest is simple COPY + PASTE.

it seems that bluray cases and ps3 cases are the same size in uk, only difference is ps3 cases contain PLAYSTATION 3 on the case depending on the age.
anyways i designed the cases with the intent of space saving in mind and thought that it would be easy to find a folder of some sort that you could store the manuals in but i havn't found any yet

I do like the idea, but there lie problems with using PS3 style cases.
1) They are not readily available like DVD or Poly Cases
2) Multiple Discs can not be held in a PS3 case
there is a solution if you want to make uniform cases from PS1 to PS3, and that would be DVD sized covers.
for the second problem, the multiple disc games could be resized to fit bluray cases, and the ones that come with the 2blurays,dvd and digital copy could be used to house them
i cant think of any that used 5 or higher

Maybe my not perfect English but: Resize WHAT? ???i cant think of any that used 5 or higher
Not 100% sure but Myst might have been the only game that came on 5 discs.'
Besides you can store the discs 2+ in papersleeves inside the case. I know not perfect but OK.
That would not solve the problem as blueray cases are more narrow than PS3 cases.
Ive made 5 covers that people should love. The covers are Twisted Metal 3, Twisted Metal 4, Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22, Dragonball GT Final Bout and Dragonball Z Legends. All covers are in original Playstation 1 DVD style. Enjoy

Covers are to low rez for the site .... and you didn't make all of those as you claimed. ::)
Customization did go into these and the quality is fine when printed. These covers are not on this site so I customized them for my own personal collection and for other people to download them to enjoy.

missing some covers for my collection would be very apreciative for the help.I've got covers for Croc 2, Spyro 2-3, and Crash Bash, but every uploader I try gives me the "too big" BS.
Chocobo racing
crash bash
croc 2
digimon world 1 - 3
dragon valor
harvest moon back to nature
spyro 2
spyro 3
tales of Destiny II (eternia)
:)

just some messing around. Whatcha think? This is NOT using elements of the original game's cover, I hated that cover... this is more how I feel Reboot should look.

Well, I don't have a scan, but I found a great unused artwork for this game here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?14082-original-artwork&p=205540&viewfull=1#post205540Thanks that will help, looks like I might end up making a cover myself.
Worth re-making the box just for that!
The text in the legal info box is jaggedy and the accessory logos are low quality butthat too might be from the upload.
Alright, here are the box.com links. Hopefully this'll work as it should. You need to put shared not direct links.

I'm confident that these would be passable. It's hard to convert some of those due to where things are positioned on the cover. Test Drive 5 is confusing me at the moment.

Looks truly incredible. Hell, I don't even care for a couple of the games, but I'll add 'em to my collection just to have the cases :)

I'm just the guy to ask, as I just recently did this myself. :D
I tried following the links for QUAKE 2 for Playstation 1, and they are dead.
Does anyone have a copy of it or a working link?
Thanks!

The text on the spine of the cases. Been looking into converting a lot of cases to that style since I live in Aus, all ps2 cases are like that.

I just used the psx cover template:

I selected the withe spine and used arial 18 font, I'm also converting all my cases to that format, they look kind of fancy.

Looks much better.
Front looks bit bad.
Playstation scans have tendensy to come out bad (I mean looking grainy), so don't know can it be bettered.
Maybe some Photoshop wizard can try to better the front image to look less pointy..
Will it pass, I don't know.
Playstation stuff is tricky.
Big thank you.

Which is better? Last Time Ill ask. I really just want to make sure it looks as good as possible before submitting. I don't have photoshop otherwise i'd fix it further.
I had the same problem with my scans Matty, I thought everyone was crazy OCD until i got my new scanner and can see the insane difference decreen or moire removal can be when scanning. Are you using an HP scanner? It makes working with the images considerably easier
May I post some covers I've made using your templates?
My eyes! My eyes!!!
Can someone help me find what thread it would be appropriate to post requests in? I'm trying to get some PS1 DVD style cases that I can't seem to find anywhere. I've searched high and low for them with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
OK - well waiting for my copy of Wipeout 3 special proved fruitless, as it turned out to be the dual pack with Destruction Derby 2 - great to get the game, as my original went walkabouts a long time ago, but it means the cover was rubbish - just a tiny thumbnail and an unusable back. So i went for a 100% custom - and i kinda like it:

Got another one for you guys...This time it's Blasto. It was really hard to make this one because there are hardly any images on the net for this game which is sad. This game is really awesome! Do you think the back cover looks too "stretched"? It's the best I could do unfortunately :
Anyway I can get a the following made? I didn't see them in the ps1 section
gex enter the gecko
Gex 3 deep cover gecko
Tekken 1

what does everyone do for multi discs in dvd cases?
Edit. Or are you just wanting to get all the free artwork made by site members in order to make some money out of it?Based on the 3 other posts they've made, I'm thinking it's this.

I'm looking for a few that I have not been able to find. Silhouette Mirage, Krazy Ivan, Atari Anniversary Edition Redux all are US versions. Funny how there isn't a Silhouette Mirage one at least.
Isn't Silhouette Mirage one of those shiny covers? That could explain the difficulty obtaining a scan.
Is there any easy way for me to make my preview images clickable so they go straight to the dropbox link?
Is there still a submission process if you want a cover uploaded to the site? I've probably got 50 or so DVD covers of varying quality I want to submit eventually.
Does anyone have Crash Bash (US) and CTR: Crash Team Racing (US) PS1 DVD covers? All I seen on the site was a PAL version of CTR and I'm not really wanting to use that cover.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the CTR cover 8)

Would anyone have a cover for Tetris Plus (US) PS1 DVD Style??The Saturn and PlayStation share the same artwork for Tetris Plus. You can just re-tool the Saturn cover for the PS1. It in the Saturn section In the database.
Sorry guys, I know it's kinda a pain for make a request and not provide scans, but all I have is the disc.
I would greatly appreciate it if somebody dropped a link to it. Thanks.
Hi there, I'm new to these forums (despite having an account since... August I think), can I make a few requests? Would that be ok? Here are the requests (they are all DVD Cases and PS2 style):
-Spyro 2 (NTSC)
-Spyro 3 (NTSC)
-Crash 3 (NTSC with PAL front cover and NTSC back cover)
-WWF War Zone (NTSC)
-WWF Attitude (NTSC)
-WWF Smackdown (NTSC)
-WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role (NTSC)
Sorry, but I'm just not good at making my own, honestly. I've tried but they never turned out too well, so I'm turning to the pros, if that's alright. Thank you in advance!

Awesomesauce dude. Thanks!
Hi,
First time posting!
Sorry if I've missed some obvious posts, this place is a bit of treasure trove/rabbit's warren,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on clearing up text from a scan.
The few games I've been playing around with seem to always get some artefacts around
the text.
Perhaps I'm looking too closely at the text.
Any suggestions?

There is such a backlog of quality raw scans sitting here in the forums thanks to people like yourself and akrate69, that I haven't made an official request list yet. I started one a few months ago but then got distracted making Super Nintendo covers. Here's A through B. I'll check the rest of my list tomorrow and post it here.
Arc the Lad Collection
Ape Escape
Azure Dreams
Ballistic
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Boombots
Brigandine: The Legend of Forsena
Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time
Builder’s Block
Bushido Blade 2
I only have Colony Wars III and Croc 2 from that list, but I will get to them this week.
Thanks so much TDIRunner, you're a raw scan hero! I'll go through more of my wishlist soon.
I own so many PS1 games
Here's E and F. I'll try and post a few more tomorrow, but even if I don't get to it before you get busy I don't mind waiting. As I mentioned, I have collected such a backlog of raw scans that I can stay busy making covers for the foreseeable future.
Echo Night
Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring
Elemental Gearbolt
Eternal Eyes
Final Doom
Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge
Front Mission 3
Future Cop LAPD

I got Echo Night and Final Doom I can scan. You just needed the front and back right or inlay also?

It's up to you, but when I scan jewel case games, I always scan the inlay, because I figure if I'm opening up the jewel case, I might as well scan everything so I don't have to open it up again later. Even if the requester doesn't need it, I figure it's best to scan as much as possible.
From this group, I only have Eternal Eyes and Front Mission 3. I own Final Doom, but unfortunately, it's a disc only copy. That being said, I do own the original PC version of Final Doom which came in a cardboard case with similar artwork to the PS1 version, so I can always scan that. I'm sure at least a few assets from it could be used for a PS1 cover.

Thanks, TDIRunner. A scan of the PC box would be nice, if only to copy the layout on the screenshots and text on the back for the PS1 Cover. I think I remember you mentioning you keep your games in jewel cases, do you want me to do a jewel case version of the Final Doom scans Bear78 has shared for you?
is there a minimum DPI, and I thought TDIrunner did a Grandia Scan

It's been a rough couple weeks converting to a new position at (full-time) Job #1 (while juggling job (part-time) 2 + (helping moms business) 3 on the side). I have so many PS1 games, it's not even funny.
I own Grandia, but I'm fairly certain I haven't scanned it yet. There are 6 on this list. I might be able to get them in tonight.
I got Grand Theft Auto London 1969 if nobody beats me to it. I should be able to get to it this weekend.
I have 6 games from the latest list including the GTA games, but my GTA games are the Collector's Edition and the Director's Cut, which are slightly different from the black label, so if you want to scan the black label, go ahead. Either way, I will scan the CE and DC.

I'm specifically looking for scans of the standard edition without the "collector's edition" banner across the top. If you have it I'd very much appreciate a scan. That's wonderful, thank you TDI. There are good looking DVD style covers of the Collector's Editions already on the site, so I'm looking for the standard edition covers. Scans of the director's cut would be awesome though, I didn't even know that release existed!

Mine's actually the CE also so I'm of no help lol
Last one for tonight. I added Sled Storm to my scan thread. Oddly enough, I don't have a disc to go with my manual and insert. :-\

Thanks once again, TD. Maybe you left it in the PlayStation last time you played? That's where I usually find my missing games.
Here is a DVD style PS1 custom cover for Grandia. There wasn't anything out there for it so had to create one.
Shout out goes to Daniel Bogni on DeviantArt for the beautiful art. https://www.deviantart.com/danielbogni/art/Grandia-Fanart-Commission-662689055 (https://www.deviantart.com/danielbogni/art/Grandia-Fanart-Commission-662689055)
Tried to use the same fonts and overall placement of things for the back. Hope it looks okay.

Hi Guys,
Looking for some feedback on my recent cover for Porsche Challenge. A great game btw.
Any honest feedback?
Should I create my own/find sharper new screenshots?
Should I retype the words on the back?
What typeface/font does everyone use for the spine letters? I've used Ariel I think in this example.

The problem with DVD style covers for PS1 is that very few people are using that style. I considered it way back, but it would involve making covers for all games, including the ones that are already CIB and due to the number of PS1 games I have, it simply isn't feasible. Also, due to the square shape of the PS1 jewel cases, it's difficult to simply copy and paste the artwork onto a rectangular shaped DVD cover.
So the amount of work needed to create the covers is greater than most styles, and the number of people using that format is much less than most other styles. Therefore there isn't much supply to match the little demand.
I'm currently looking for only one thing believe it or not!
Pac-Man World (PS1)
Yeah, planning to cop the game soon to play it on my Phat PS3.
Just a reminder to the person that has received the last cover or postcard. Please update the thread, if you have not done so. Or, if you have not sent anything to one of the participants on the list, please do so.
Thank you
Made a new DVD style cover for Descent. The one on the site had the vertical PlayStation logo on the front so redid it to get rid of it. I then scanned and cleaned my copy to get a better looking back.

Treasures of the Deep is still one of my all time favorite PS1 games. Love it. Always curious how "bitchin" was able to slip through to production :o ;D
